Time for a new game of Mornington Crescent

It's time to begin a new game and I better not make the mistake of playing the closed stations rule in zone 1 again, which led to the win by @WalkingInTheAir13. To have a winner after only three and a half months is quite rare this century.

So I shall begin outside zone 1 for once, starting at Tooting Broadway, the first game I have ever joined to start south of the river.

Don’t worry Binary, none of us can remember everything. I nearly forgot the rules for the Swindon Procedure recently! I had to look them up!

I think I should be safe with a move to Bond Street

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 31/03/2021 22:05

Time for the Crossrail rule to help get us out of a potential pickle and move to Tottenham Court Road.

I did not get to the quarter finals in 2016 after stupidly playing Oxford Circus during a rush hour.

@CuthbertDibbleandGrubb these things happen. Best to draw a line and move on. I certainly won't be recording the incident on my spreadsheet. No. That wouldn't be in the spirit of the friendly competition.

A triple hop to Euston

St Paul’s

DuckonaBike · 01/04/2021 20:36

Bold move Alcides

Bow Church

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 02/04/2021 07:05

Using the DLR rule, a move to Pudding Mill Lane. Opportunities for dog walking nearby on this Good Friday.

EmpressWitchDoesntBurn · 02/04/2021 09:04

Crossharbour seems like an appropriate next move.

DuckonaBike · 02/04/2021 17:01

As it’s a bank holiday weekend, I move to Bank. I hope this won’t merit an entry on Binary’s spreadsheet.

Alcides · 02/04/2021 17:13

Now that’s a smart move, Duck. I am surprised that no one has yet played a hot cross bunover and going to nip in quick with

Monument

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 02/04/2021 21:01

I am going to take advantage of the escalators and hopefully not get lost and then get to London Bridge.

DuckonaBike · 04/04/2021 12:28

Happy Easter! Let’s head to Westminster, which has both a cathedral and an abbey to cater for this festival. Not many places have both.

Alcides · 04/04/2021 19:11

Kensal Rise

CuthbertDibbleandGrubb · 04/04/2021 22:12

Interesting use of the Bakerloo line on a Sunday. Via the London Overground rule and interchange rule I move to Kilburn.

againandagainoncemore · 05/04/2021 09:23

Now we are in the first week of the Fourth month, I believe we can play the quadruple trippet. Last seen in a tense match in 1985.

Therefore that takes us to Olympia

peak2021 · 07/04/2021 20:50

So we do not grind to a halt as happened in the iil-fated game in 1979 where there were no moves for four months, a short move to Earls Court.

OP posts:
dohdohdoh · 07/04/2021 22:01

Ah yes 1979, while that infamous game came to a grinding halt I was actually busy becoming tiddlywinks world champion. Finals where in the Willesden Working Men's Club... mmm scotch eggs and warm stout.

A three line whippet woof woof to Warwick Avenue

againandagainoncemore · 07/04/2021 22:55

Well here we are in the 11th hour following the Mercury Habit variant. This will take us to Kentish Town West

I must implore the earlier players to make their intentions known in the next 48 hours in order to avoid the ugly hiatus seen in 1948. I don't honk we want a repeat of that!

againandagainoncemore · 07/04/2021 22:56

*think

Not honk

That will unleash Merry hell!

peak2021 · 08/04/2021 09:22

Time to move to Camden Road. There is some plan dreamed up by architects to have a footpath and fancy plants along a bit of disused line from there. As it does not go towards the next station south of Camden Town, I feel safe in playing this move.

Alcides · 08/04/2021 18:43

I am impressed @peak2021! Let’s avoid grinding to a halt. I believe it also happened in the 1992 semifinals. I am going to use the alternate Thursday rule and take a sideways skip to Gospel Oak

DuckonaBike · 13/04/2021 18:57

Glad to see things are moving again, and I hope everyone hasn't been too distracted by the pubs opening and the opportunities for non-essential shopping.

In vernal mood, I'm going to move to Harringay Green Lanes.

newnortherner111 · 18/04/2021 18:17

Crouch Hill.

Too lazy on a Sunday to move any further.
