Hello

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2021 02:40

I'm here. What's keeping you awake?

Imagineit · 19/02/2021 02:41

I've been having a bit of a rough time with sleep. Little one gets up at 5:15 and it's so hard not to count the hours!

Wow it's comforting to chat at this time of night, can feel like such a lonely time

I’m still up, DH has gone to bed, he snores so we don’t share a bed to sleep these days.

Imagineit · 19/02/2021 02:45

My sleep is messed up at the moment. I am coming off a migraine medication which caused awful anxiety and sickness. Been in a bit of a panic mode for a few days now

Have you been to sleep yet?

I hate migraines they are horrible

Imagineit · 19/02/2021 02:47

Insomnia is such a nightmare. Brain is all 'if I sleep now I can have x hours'

I started meds to prevent them but they've been making me increasingly anxious, depressed and nauseous til I've ended up in a mess and need off! I'm coming off now but can't sleep and feeling anxious.

I used to get migraines. They must have been hormonal as I never got them in pregnancy and they vanished with the menopause.

I'm up because with covid I've been working evenings so don't go to bed until late. I'm back to normal hours next week so I'll need to stop being such a might owl.

Colouringaddict · 19/02/2021 02:51

No not been to sleep, I may not tonight, I am in bed half lying down and hoping I will get some sleep.

Can you read for a while?

Have you had any sleep today?

Imagineit · 19/02/2021 02:55

I drifted off around 10pm but woke at midnight as I was in such a light sleep and I'm feeling slightly paranoid about side effects coming off the meds so I was convinced I wouldn't sleep which is just a self fulfilling prophecy

Is that normal for you? Getting no sleep? I'm normally a 9/10 hour person so this is torture!

Do you often switch shifts? My partner is a shift worker and he hates being all over the place

Can you get yourself a hot chocolate or glass of warm milk? It might help you get back to sleep.

The meds sound horrible.

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2021 02:59

Oh, cross posted. No, just working late because management wanted to have as few people as possible in the building at one time. Back to my usual 9-5 next week.

I'm lying here exhausted, it's the anxiety is the thing stopping me sleeping

I came on here hoping to find a thread like this. I've just moved house yesterday and my cat can't go outside yet but she hasn't used a littervtray for years. She has been screaming for the last hour. Presumably because her bladder is full. Still refuses to use the tray. I feel like a monster as I've now shut her in a room in the hope that she uses it. I'm so sad for her and I'm desperately tired. Just need some company.

Thack · 19/02/2021 03:02

Hi all.
I've been awake during the night for the last few days. I think it's mostly work stress. I start maternity leave in 3 weeks (2wks before due date) and have an audit the day before I finish. It's going to be a bad one.

Where is everyone messaging from? DH is asleep so I've stayed in bed and tucked my phone under the duvet... (yes I know it's wrong)

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2021 03:03

@Somuddled I like these threads too. Sorry your cat is giving you grief, she'll get used to it but she'll make you suffer while she does Grin

DramaAlpaca · 19/02/2021 03:04

I'm messaging from the sofa in front of the TV.

MaverickDanger · 19/02/2021 03:05

Also awake - seven week old DS is due a feed so my boobs are really painful but he’s snoring away! I’ve got the Haakaa out so just expressing a little.

I’m definitely getting more sleep now he’s arrived though than when I was pregnant, so that’s good at least! Just shows you how bad my sleep was!

Poor kitty, I remember this with my cat and I was so relieved when she finally used the litter tray. I just kept picking her up and putting her in it. I left her to it and after ages and ages she eventually used it. Does she have somewhere to hide in the room? I moved a lot and she needed a place to hide
