When you say a phrase and it immediately reminds you of a song and you start singing it

Sorry for the clunky title, but I have two.
Most recent; tonight, DH and me were talking about nothing, just chitchat about our teenage kids and random sayings they say, and he said “it means nothing to me” then he went “ohhh Vienna”
Made us laugh. Although you probably had to be there.

The other one is last March when we had a team meeting at work just before first lockdown, we are a tiny company, only 4 of us. My boss ended a lengthy uplifting talk saying “where do we go from here”
My lovely colleague immediately said “is it down to the lake I fear”

You probably had to be there for that one too!

C'mon, someone else must follow up 'it's cold outside ' with 'there's no kind of atmosphere, we're all alone, more or less!' from Red Dwarf?

Sorry, I just realised I left two random words at the end of my last post to remind me in my advancing age (I still forgot one of them)!

The 'Chico' note was meant to say that, when somebody asks "What time is it?", I'm always desperate to burst into "It's Chico tiiiiiiime! with full on jazz hands, disco posture and everything!

If you mention the number 3, I'm going to sing about it being the magic number

chocolateisavegetable · 17/02/2021 19:19

Just after my last post, DH put some music on and said that he needed to adjust the treble. I instantly started singing Street Tuff by Rebel MC. I blame you OP Grin

I had this as an ear worm the entire time i was pregnant with ds2

(Obviously once i realised i was pregnant...not the second the sperm hit the egg)

I go down to my mums every week, she has dementia. When I am blow drying her hair, I get part way through, then ask her to stand up, so I can turn the chair round to reach the other side of her head. This always prompts a rousing version of Stand up Stand Up for Jesus - every Friday without fail!

I suppose it would depend on whether you wanted to be pregnant 🤔

So the hallelujah chorus if you wanted to be pregnant

And handels death march if you didn’t

This thread is hilarious, too many to mention.

When I'm going (was going) to the shops 'downtown - where all the lights are bright'

'I've got the key, I've got the secret' - almost every bloody day

'Thunderbolts and lightening very very frightening me! Galileo' etc

'Stop right now thank you very much' with ALL the actions 😂

Who doesn't have ear worms?!

ALongHardWinter · 17/02/2021 21:19

My Dd and I often do this! She'll phone me and start saying 'I just called to say....' and I'll interject with 'I love you'. Or I'll say 'And I say to myself...' and she'll finish my sentence with 'What a wonderful world'. Up until now,I thought it was just us! Grin
