Hi Prok, well done on appeasing the owl! I have ignored him the last couple of days as I’m just too tired.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 03/03/2021 23:42

Glad you have your operation done @Prokupatuscrakedatus.

I've spent the day hiding in the safety of bed as had a panic attack this morning

Holothane · 03/03/2021 23:54

I’d love a pink viz vest but can’t find one, hope your ok Prok? Quiet day for me washing tomorrow.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/03/2021 02:42

@NotanotherboxofFrogs
Are you feeling better? Do you get help? Flowers

HildaTablet · 04/03/2021 08:18

Glad you're back Prok, and I hope you're feeling OK.

Flowers for NotanotherboxofFrogs

It may be a touch too exciting for this thread, but I'm having my first Covid jab today.

sueelleker · 04/03/2021 08:22

@Nydj

Welcome back Prok - lovely to have you back!

I like the idea of a luminous pink hi-vis jacket - especially for a horse.

As long as the horse isn't bright chestnut-it would clash horribly!
Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/03/2021 09:15

I had breakfast, the painexpert was there, now I wait for the physio to get me into the shoe.
A pink high viz west for a palomino would be even worse from a fashion point of view.

Squirrel26 · 04/03/2021 09:51

Grin He is a palamino. He’s going to look hideous!

Trouble is, I think orange would look worse, and yellow is less visible given we’ll only be out in daylight.

Poor horse. Oh well, he can always phone the RSPCA to complain. Grin

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/03/2021 11:46

@Squirrel26
Well, you could call it a rebellious statement or start a trend.

Physio has been, I walked and practiced stairs, had my midday meal and am now waiting for the doctor.

EggyPegg · 04/03/2021 16:12

How's the hospital food @Prokupatuscrakedatus?

I bought the cookbook @HelenaJustina recommended and it has just arrived. I love Prime. DH rolled his eyes and declared that I'll.look at it once and then it'll join the others.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/03/2021 16:56

eggy
Quite good actually. Today a lady came with an I pad to ask about my choices for tomorrow. Just in case.

i try to figure out the colour coding.
White is meds and surgeons
red seem to be nurses
blue is nurse in training
black is cleaning, refilling and food

HelenaJustina · 04/03/2021 17:04

When are you hoping to be home @Prokupatuscrakedatus ?

@EggyPegg I have faith that you’ll use this one. I love it. It’s perfect for prepping while the DC are having their dinner, and then putting in the oven while you do bedtime. Fuss free cooking and all delicious!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/03/2021 17:16

@HelenaJustina
they said tomorrow, which usually means by ten, but depends on when the surgeon is free to see me and sign me out.

Sunbird24 · 04/03/2021 18:35

Fingers crossed for an early escape Prok!

My unexciting musing for the day is that today’s date is 4.3.21, unless you are American...

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/03/2021 18:56

yes it is how exciting!

EggyPegg · 04/03/2021 20:45

@Sunbird24, I hadn't even noticed and I love things like that! It pleased me every time the odometer in my car showed a number such as 76667. I also very much enjoyed the mile that all the numbers were the same each time it happened (I've put about 30k miles on my car in the time I've owned it so have had that thrill three times).

We had burgers and chips tonight (Quorn 1.5syn burger for me, beef burgers for the others with cheese and chorizo). DH bought a bag of rocket and a bag of mixed leaves and they made all the difference to my salad accompaniment. So flavoursome.

DS1 added both rocket and ketchup to his burger, which almost caused me to faint with shock, and subsequently cleared his plate.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/03/2021 08:09

i am waiting to be written out of the system.

Spudlet · 05/03/2021 08:13

I bet you’ll be glad to get home, prok!

Last day of this round of homeschooling today, hopefully - I daren’t be too optimistic about the whole thing in case it’s snatched away at the last minute again. DS’s school have instituted a complex one-way system for pick up and drop off which will involve me manoeuvring my bike and the attached trailer bike through a kissing gate type set up twice a day, so I am very much looking forward to that. I have got the bike through successfully before, but it was a bit of a struggle. I may attempt to whack the Head’s shins with a pedal on purpose 😈

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/03/2021 11:45

@Spudlet
be sneaky with the shin wacking!

I am home.

While I was away DH's papers spilled out onto the table again, and the sofa and the steps to the terasse .....

Nydj · 05/03/2021 13:12

I’m glad you managed all the stairs up to your flat, Prok. I will gloss over the paper takeover. Take it easy

PermanentTemporary · 05/03/2021 13:15

My new litter picker arrived and the test walk was successful. Contemplating another litter walk this evening.

MissConductUS · 05/03/2021 13:58

Welcome, @PermanentTemporary, and thanks for sharing your neighborhood beautification news. When I was running I used to carry a plastic bag in my pocket and collect what litter I saw. I lived on a busy street so there was lots of trash. It was mostly fast-food wrappers, beer, and soda cans. The two most interesting things I found picking up litter were a $20 bill and a bra in fairly good condition.

Where did you order the litter picker from, and does it have a spike or a claw on the end?

OP posts:
Squirrel26 · 05/03/2021 15:36

Maybe @Prokupatuscrakedatus needs a litter picker so she can move DH’s papers without having to stand up?

It’s very quiet. I think I might be the only one here. (I am at work. If I was at home that wouldn’t be weird.)

Spudlet · 05/03/2021 15:44

I spent a good half hour wheedling DS into taking his bike down the track for some practice, another ten minutes getting him to go to the loo, and then probably ten minutes after that inserting him and myself into various socks, shoes, coats, gloves and all the rest. We made it ten minutes up the track and met DH returning from his walk with Spuddog, and DS started very quietly and bravely weeping at the thought of the party splitting up so we turned around and went right back home with them 🙄

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 05/03/2021 16:02

@Squirrel26
That is an idea....
he made us eat at my workdesk. The kitchen table is 1 m * 2 m and covered in little heaps of paper
