Do you eat chocolate every day?

I tend to eat a 2 finger kitkat most days at around 11am. If that even counts as chocolate! I can’t think of the last day I didn’t have a bit of chocolate even if it’s just two squares of something (I don’t eat loads of it)

Yes. Even through losing 5 stone last year. I can give up everything except chocolate.

LindaEllen · 05/02/2021 12:03

I wouldn't say every day, but certainly often. I lost 12 stone over 2 years a decade ago and I ate chocolate daily then. It's all about moderation.

PaperMonster · 05/02/2021 12:06

I try to!

I’m currently losing weight, have lost over a stone since December but realised that I can’t completely give it up! It helps keep me going. Definitely agree about moderation though.

I used to. I could easily polish off a share size bag of chocolate buttons or a large bar of chocolate. I generally eat healthily and only drink water but chocolate has always been my downfall.

I’ve been cutting down on it over the last few weeks and now only eat a small amount (e.g. a couple of chocolates/squares) every other day. I already feel a lot better and less bloated, and I’ve definitely lost some weight.

FraughtwithGin · 05/02/2021 12:19

No, I hate the stuff.
I don't have a sweet tooth either.
Chocolate is dreadful, sludgy and sticks to the top of your mouth.
Should I feel the need for something sweet I eat an apple or banana or other fruit, but it happens very rarely.

Please tell me how you're all eating chocolate and losing weight!!

AButterflyLightsBesideUs · 05/02/2021 12:27

Absolutely.

I have battled binge eating disorder and chocolate was my trigger food. I would eat extraordinary amounts of it in one sitting and would never feel sick! Despite this, I am no longer binge eating and eat chocolate when I feel like it. Most of the time it's everyday but some days I don't have any (not intentionally, just didn't feel like it). I would encourage anyone from my own personal experience to never ban any foods from your diet.

asdnamechange · 05/02/2021 12:29

Yes, I love it
I prefer dark chocolate though

Balance and moderation Smile I never thought it would be possible but I've lost 1.5 stones since November and I am not in any way dieting or restricting my eating. A little bit of what you fancy does you good

I’m not an expert, but presumably as long as you’re eating it alongside balanced diet, not eating too many calories in general... it should be fine?

AbstractHeart · 05/02/2021 12:32

No. I did while I was pregnant (tonnes of sweets too) but now that DD is here I'm trying to be more sensible. I still have Xmas chocs in the cupboard that I've managed to resist so far.

FinallyFluid · 05/02/2021 12:33

72% Godiva dark chocolate every morning with a coffee, delivered to me in bed by my DH.

Halo him that is. Grin

ellenpartridge · 05/02/2021 12:36

No and of course a KitKat counts as chocolate

BurfdayCaked · 05/02/2021 12:37

I go through phases. Since giving up alcohol last year I eat a lot more, though, and probably do eat a bar most days Blush.

I’m otherwise a healthy eater, though, and not overweight. And I gave up wine, so I need some sort of pleasure!

MrsAvocet · 05/02/2021 12:37

Not any more. I used to have at least one bar a day but stopped around 12 months ago when I started dieting. I missed it terribly at first but now I'm used to it. I'm not working at present which helps, as in my last job there was a newsagents right by my office and I used to go in every morning and sometimes if I'd had a bad day I would "treat myself" on the way home too. But now I have one bar maybe every 3 weeks or so. My DH is an absolute chocaholic but fortunately I don't like the same things as him really so I am not tempted to eat any of his as I could easily slip back into the habit if there was stuff in the house that I like, just through boredom at present.

megletthesecond · 05/02/2021 12:38

Yes.
A strip of dark choc.
Couple of choc cookies.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 05/02/2021 12:41

I was in December 🤢 but been (almost) sugar free since 1st Jan. The only chocolate I’ve had this year has been a couple of tiny pieces of 99% or 100% cocoa solids offered by a colleague.

SkepticalCat · 05/02/2021 12:44

Most days, yes. Even when calorie-counting, I'd save enough calories for a chocolate bar so I didn't feel deprived, and I still lost weight.

ChonkyChook · 05/02/2021 12:46

I just sniff the wrappers when I walk by in Tesco. Anything else is just pure hedonism.

Turnedouttoes · 05/02/2021 12:48

No not at all. It’s not something I would even think to buy to be honest.
Sweets and crisps on the other hand Blush the only reason I don’t eat them all day every day is because I don’t buy them

Ginfordinner · 05/02/2021 12:49

No. I can take it or leave it TBH.

moderation!

i tend to buy small things in packets, like a freddo or similar.

i still get the chocolate, but i'm satisfied when im done. for instance if i opened a £1 bag of chocolate buttons i would eat them all, if i have a smaller packet i will still eat them all but obv its far less calories.

I could eat muuuuuch more but my brain is almost tricked by thinking well youve finished it now, that's it so a small amount is okay if that makes any sense at all!

MrsJBaptiste · 05/02/2021 12:49

No, I'm not that bothered about chocolate. Biscuits though... bloody love them with a tea or coffee ☕

I don't eat anything sweet Sun-Thur though so I can have a couple of treats on Fri/Sat 🍩
