Do you eat chocolate every day?

I tend to eat a 2 finger kitkat most days at around 11am. If that even counts as chocolate! I can’t think of the last day I didn’t have a bit of chocolate even if it’s just two squares of something (I don’t eat loads of it)

Not on work days, but when I am at home I have 2 chocolate hobnobs dipped in a cup at tea after lunch. I developed this habit in the first lockdown because it gave me an excuse to delay returning to home schooling my DC for a bit longer after lunch, and I have kept it up ever since.

Flippyferloppy · 05/02/2021 13:58

We don't have dessert, but we have one square of dark chocolate every evening after dinner

speaksofty · 05/02/2021 14:01

No definitely not. Maybe once or twice a year.

No. I try to avoid having anything sweet during the week. At weekends I usually have some biscuits or chocolate or whatever. I don’t always manage to stick to this plan (e.g., last night. . .). But I find that the less I eat sweet things, the less I crave them. And I have a gigantic sweet tooth.

Tavannach · 05/02/2021 14:16

Two squares of dark chocolate most evenings. I would call a Kitkat a biscuit.

Calledyoulastnightfromglasgow · 05/02/2021 14:19

I eat a little dark chocolate most days. Takes the edge of the sweet tooth and feels like a treat

barbrahunter · 05/02/2021 14:21

Yes I eat quite a lot every day, but I also gave up drinking alcohol a couple of years ago and I think I've replaced it with chocolate.

Sauvblanca · 05/02/2021 14:40

I wish I could. Have given up sugar now for the sake of my teeth and my waistline, so can't have it in the house to avoid temptation.

lastqueenofscotland · 05/02/2021 14:45

Rarely. I used to absolutely love it and eat loads of it.
Every time I have it now I’m disappointed by it however I do love hot chocolate.

Whatsnewpussyhat · 05/02/2021 14:47

Yes.
Like a PP, I'll try to buy individually wrapped bars instead of share bags.
A family bag of malteasers will get polished off in one go, where as one small bar is enough.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 05/02/2021 14:51

Yes. I'm pretty sure I've eaten chocolate every day of my adult life, and I'm not talking about one square of "really good" dark chocolate after dinner either.

I'm eating a caramel wafer as I write this.

uncomfortablydumb53 · 05/02/2021 15:05

Yes.. it's my evening treat

LindaEllen · 05/02/2021 15:17

@ineedtogooutlater

Please tell me how you're all eating chocolate and losing weight!!
By having a little bit instead of shoving 12 chunky Kit Kats in my face.

Losing weight - by and large - is calories in v calories out. To an extent it doesn't matter what those calories are made up of. If I chose to use my daily calories on Kit Kats I could have perhaps 6 a day, and nothing else, and still lose weight. Problem was before I lose the weight I'd have 6 as an evening snack!

fruitpastille · 05/02/2021 15:47

Yes most days but not that much. A little bar (30g ish) or something like a kit kat. Or maybe something not chocolate like a couple of biscuits or a piece of cake. I eat crisps quite often too but generally a small bag from a multipack. I prefer moderation to denial.

DahliaMacNamara · 05/02/2021 16:00

I do, though I've never been able to eat it in large quantities in one sitting without an unpleasant feeling of chocolate overload. A couple of really good chocolates is fine. I wouldn't waste the calories on something like Dairy Milk.
Crisps, though. Crisps are the reason I'm not a size 8, or anything like it.

lobster8 · 05/02/2021 20:20

Yes, pretty much every single day of my adult life. Most days it's something smallish, like the aforementioned two finger kitkat, or a couple of chocolate digestives. Some days I might not, but that's normally if I have a different sweet treat during the day e.g an ice cream at the beach. Bottom line, I eat some kind of chocolate or pudding every day. My BMI is 20, I hit my 10k steps everyday and run 3k (slowly) 3-4 times a week. Everything in moderation, even when I was losing 4 stone of pregnancy weight a few years back, I had some kind of small chocolate treat each day.

ColinKnocksTwoPence · 05/02/2021 20:27

Yes I'm a chocoholic and usually have 2 squares of dark chocolate or a single Lindt ball with my evening decaf coffee.
I look forward to it 😁

WellTidy · 05/02/2021 20:35

Not chocolate, but biscuits. I am losing weight (10lb down, 20lb to go) but I still eat two ginger biscuits every day. 85 calories in that, which I think is well worth it.

I have eaten chocolate every day in the past. But my weight has creeped up and it’s partly due to the quantity chocolate (and all the other crap).

HalfBrick · 05/02/2021 20:35

Yes, probably. It's the only thing I can't resist, though I am a bit choosy with brands, Cadbury is my vice, also chocolate biscuit type things like kit kats. Not fussed on Galaxy or posh chocolate.
I don't do Haribo, ice cream or cake at all.

MolotovMocktail · 05/02/2021 20:54

No unfortunately. I have no off switch with chocolate, it’s the only sweet thing I am interested in. I hardly ever have sweets, biscuits, cakes or ice cream, but chocolate I seem to have a physical need for, especially the few days before and after my period. Outside of that time I try to resist it because if there’s any in the house I will scoff the lot immediately, no matter the quantity.
