I'm just very intrigued! Mine is £800 a month.

£1489, but we overpay by at least £250/nth. Still a long way to go, but we love the house

Changi · 05/02/2021 08:04

Just made the final payment. So, nothing.

Rowenasemolina · 05/02/2021 08:04

you wouldn’t qualify for a mortgage On that percentage of income. There must have been a joint applicant earning at least the same ad you, possibly more

No. Just me. This was before the credit crunch. It was 110% mortgage too. Luckily for me it was available. Rent cost more , for half the space. I’m a single mum. There were days when feeding the children meant I couldn’t eat. And we were without heating and hot water long term. But it is paid off now, and I have a free place to live for the rest of my life, as do my kids. It was all worth it

1100 13 percent of monthly income.

WildHorsesRunInMe · 05/02/2021 08:09

QuothTheSlothNevermore · 05/02/2021 08:11

Around £3000 - London, stretched last year to get separate rooms for the kids plus home office so about 40% joint income.

WorriedMillie · 05/02/2021 08:13

£1250 ish

Bangable · 05/02/2021 08:14

£2300 but we overpay £250 as well as we want to retire as early as possible!

sanityisamyth · 05/02/2021 08:15

Just sold the house 🎉🎊🎉 but it was £537 a month.

Upupupintheair · 05/02/2021 08:17

£1800 a month, a 28 year term 😖

MadameBlobby · 05/02/2021 08:18

15% of take home pay

JorisBonson · 05/02/2021 08:18

£1125. 28 years to go 🙃

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/02/2021 08:19

Was 400 ish but overpaid every month so mortgage went from 25 to would have been 16

MadameBlobby · 05/02/2021 08:20

@Rowenasemolina

I’m amazed what a small percent of income that some of these are.

Mines paid off now, but was about 70- 75% of my pay for 25 years. I thought that was normal

Wow, that’s huge! What did you live and pay the rest of your bills on?
TableFlowerss · 05/02/2021 08:23

£500

UselessYoke · 05/02/2021 08:25

£780 pcm. Fifth of our take home salary.
6 years left on it.

xmaskitkat1967 · 05/02/2021 08:26

Zero. Have instead spent on school fees for the last 10 years (only 1 to go though - hurray!!)

Alfiemoon1 · 05/02/2021 08:32

£550 but we over pay £100 per month 10 years to go but hoping to reduce that

Tiddlywinkly · 05/02/2021 08:33
  1. We'd rather have dh's dad around though.
Ninkanink · 05/02/2021 08:34

Nothing; our house was bought outright. It needed a lot of work though, and we’ll be paying about 4k in the next month or two to have the pointing done and cleaning of the brick & stonework.

MrsKoala · 05/02/2021 08:34

About £1600.

Chimeraforce · 05/02/2021 08:36

621 plus we're overpaying extra 500. We're late 40s and tired of rat race so want it paid quick.
But we had 5 years on 900 whilst everyone else's rate plummeted. We signed a 5 Yr fixed shortly before the 08 crash 🙄

Dashel · 05/02/2021 08:37

£0 now but we increased our payments to £1500 to clear the mortgage early and made additional overpayments as well.

iammeiamme · 05/02/2021 08:37

£2900
