There is some awful behaviour on here.

It breaks down badly at 4 minutes.

Tolver, Brewerton and Burkhill seem to believe seriously that they can ignore the law simply by voting to do so. They really shouldn't be allowed anyone near a council.

Arobase · 06/02/2021 11:18

@RaspberryCoulis

Those men are going to be fuming that their true colours have been exposed.

No chance. That sort of person never accepts they are wrong. They will be sitting at home feeling wronged, and blaming Jackie / Sue / the other lady.

What they will utterly hate is that the consensus is that Jackie Weaver has come out the whole thing best. If, of course, they have sufficient intelligence to recognise that, which on the face of it is dubious.
Fromage · 06/02/2021 11:25

If this isn't re-enacted by Mitchell Brook Primary School on this year's Big Fat Quiz Of The Year, we should all boycott Channel Four indefinitely.

Some quite enjoyable comments on Roll On Friday:

This is the funniest thing I’ve watched in ages. Love it. Imagine a turf war in handforth 🤣

TheresOnlyOneJackieWeaver · 06/02/2021 11:30

@JackieweaverhasALLtheauthority

Yes the Aled's ipad duo are father and son.
I thought as much, the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. The VC’s Dad made a nasty comment about one of the women being from Birkenhead, they have discgraced themselves in public. But what exactly happens now? Do they get disciplined in any way?
LemmysAceCard · 06/02/2021 11:43

My neighbour (house attached) planted a hedge which went between the gardens of neighbour (N), and neighbour where their gardens joined.

Both my neighbour and Twat Neighbour (TN) are retired. TN didn’t like hedge, said it went over the boundary when it got bushy and that was not acceptable. N was an elderly man who lived on his own and had failing health. TN carried out a case of harassment against N, constantly shouting at him, calling round to moan about the hedge, and even started sending solicitors letters, he was vile to N. In the end N took the hedge down and put a fence up as he couldn’t cope with the harassment.

No surprise that Twat Neighbour and his wife are on the parish council.

Sue absolutely rocks, IMO and long may she, and other women made like her, continue to be a thorn in the side of arrogant, obstinate, horrible men like that trio of arses.

Noteveryone · 06/02/2021 12:29

I really hope that these awful men don’t take their newfound fame as something good. I hope they’re ashamed of themselves but I fear they’ll think they were amazing

Roussette · 06/02/2021 12:38

Nah. How can they. Everywhere I read they are getting the piss taken out of them and their names are mud for their behaviour.

I can guarantee they'll be obnoxious at home at the moment, there will be a great gnashing of teeth and anger.

Oysterbabe · 06/02/2021 12:49

My favourite thing is how they talk for 18 minutes yet manage to not talk about anything at all.

TotoAnnihiliation · 06/02/2021 12:54

I've just watched the second video. Fair play to Sue for being so calm. We could learn a lot from women like her and Jackie.

The man with all the guitars seems to be quite reasonable but gets ignored. Angry Aled clearly has a multitude of issues.

picklemewalnuts · 06/02/2021 13:00

Confusingly, some of the men are reasonable councillors, others are members of the public attempting to hold the council to account. The three bully councillors are trying to use standing orders to prevent parish business being done- refusing to call meetings, declaring other meetings illegal etc.

We've had similar. It's extremely hard to counter. I hope the culprits are listening and feeling embarrassed but I strongly suspect they feel they were 'right all along, all the critics don't know what they are talking about etc etc".

GoldieHelen · 06/02/2021 13:05

I've just watched the second video

I’ve been trying to find that. Where did you find it?

JackieWeaverExistentialQTime · 06/02/2021 13:13

It's

And do I believe we get a reveal of Julie's iPad?

I am gripped by this! What happened to the £5000? Where was Angry Aled going that was more important than the Parish Council?? And Sue!

God, the whole team need to gang up and rid HPC of the corrupt bully trio of Aled, Barry & Tolver! I am so over-invested in this now!

JackieWeaverExistentialQTime · 06/02/2021 13:15

Honestly, it's so gripping! I'd totally watch this if it was a political drama!

JackieWeaverExistentialQTime · 06/02/2021 13:19

this one is quite funny too!

(though I suspect they've only seen the short clip and believe Jackie to be the villain)

Yes, I do believe lockdown has finally got to me!

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 06/02/2021 14:39

The second video is worse. The chairman appears to be the only person with a copy of the agenda - which is missing items that should be included - and refuses to share it with anybody. The man is a tosser.

Quaagars · 06/02/2021 15:06

Late to the thread, but saw this last night
Didn't find it particularly funny though, those men were awful, disproportionately angry, they were ridiculous!
Jackie was ace though.
Just refer to me as Britney from now on" lol

Dailyhandtowelwash · 06/02/2021 16:57

As one of what seems like lots of posters on here with a governance background (shout out to rules-based posters!) I’ve read DAG’s blog with interest.

I’m thinking, the meeting was legally called, but the Chair refused to recognise it or to take the Chair. In that case, was it actually ‘the meeting’ when he was excluded, or just a gathering of people? Jackie Weaver ejected him as he was obstructing the legal meeting that was about to take place. The Parish Council Standing Orders do state that the Vice-Chairman should chair in the absence of the Chairman (no space for gender neutrality here). What we do not know from the edited highlights - which is what most of have seen but many don’t realise - is whether the Vice-Chairman had also explicitly already stated that he didn’t acknowledge that meeting either. If both men had already declared that it wasn’t a lawful meeting, even though it was, then both were merely being obstructive in a group rather than in a meeting IMO. Jackie Weaver, in pursuit of the legal council meeting she was there to facilitate, was therefore upholding the law by throwing him out too.

My hot take.

IstandwithJackieWeaver · 06/02/2021 17:01

My take on it was that neither man wanted to the meeting to go ahead. So it went ahead without them. A victory for the other councillors and commonsense.

ListeningQuietly · 06/02/2021 17:08

Daily
I agree with you.
And once a member had agreed to take the chair
the 3 members still present (quorum) agreed not to readmit them
so it was the decision of the chair of the meeting to keep them out

I gather that Jackie has been all over the media suggesting that people stand for their local councils this May
GOOD

picklemewalnuts · 06/02/2021 17:12

However he then called a meeting which attempted to declare the previous meetings- and the business done at them- illegal. That said, he didn't appear to have distributed the agenda, so it may not have been legally called anyway.

MollyMinniesMum · 06/02/2021 17:50

In my head yes, thankfully it hasn’t come to reality yet 🤣🤣

SarahSissions · 06/02/2021 17:57

Appalling. And they wonder why young people don’t want to get involved with local democracy. What a bunch of bullies
