At what age did you lose your virginity?

Inspired by another thread. I think I was quite late losing mine, I was 25. What about you?

15 😕

ChronicallyCurious · 04/02/2021 16:51

13 in year 8 with an older 16 year old in year 11. I realise now how wrong that was. I thought I was cool at the time. I would never have looked at a 13 year old when I was 16.

emmylousings · 04/02/2021 16:53

14, not proud of it, but don't think it did me any actual harm either.

Tiredhungryandcranky · 04/02/2021 16:53

13 with a guy who told me he loved me, convinced me to get on a train and then a bus 2 hours away, gave me a joint and then took my virginity. Said goodbye to me at his front door and I never heard from him again. I've never told anyone the real story because I still feel dirty and ashamed, I told my friends I'd wanted it because he told me I did and I didn't know what else to do. I still carry the guilt too that it was my fault for going, maybe if I wasn't so desperate for love it wouldn't have happened, I plan to teach my daughter the difference between what you want and what someone tells you you want.

21 - just finished uni, suddenly had a load of, uhm, tension between me and a good friend and we were friends with benefits for a while. Never relationship material and lived 100 miles apart, but glad I waited until i felt ready and that it was with someone I loved and trusted (still do love and trust in fact, still friends 20+ years later) so it was a positive, caring experience.

I was still technically a virgin when I had my first orgasm (age 19).

The backstory I alluded to earlier was nothing more interesting than vaginismus (almost certainly developmental, quite possibly to do with birth of younger sibling Blush) which was both exacerbated and masked by religious scruples and paranoia about pregnancy.

Still kind of present, but amenable to physical override. (It's impossible to accidentally pull a door shut at the same time as actively pushing it open...)

19 - ons. I just wanted to get it out of the way at that point and it really was crap.

WagnerTheWehrWolf · 04/02/2021 16:56

Well I think every girl should have an orgasm before she has sex. Lots of them. If there was more focus on clitoral stimulation the world would be a better place.

HoneyComb11 · 04/02/2021 16:57

@ktp100 - Sadly, it happens a lot. I remember being completely drunk and my bf collecting me (my friend called him off my phone to collect me) and taking me to his, he was in the military, living in barracks. I remember him having sex with me but only being semi awake throughout, I woke in the morning and he confirmed he had sex with me, I accepted it because we were in a relationship but looking back, it wasn’t right.

slashlover · 04/02/2021 17:03

I'm 42 and still have it, 99.9% sure I'll always have it and I'm fine with that.

I'm sorry that happened to you. Isn't it dreadful that we just suck these things up and carry on with life.

I can't help but think there are many, many women in this position.

It's so sad.x.

WeepingWinnie · 04/02/2021 17:12

21, and not sorry I waited for someone whom I regarded as worth it.

I’m shocked at some many children having sex 😟 Even when I was 13 (30 years ago), I didn’t know anyone who had had sex, no one was drinking either.

DinosaurDiana · 04/02/2021 17:16
  1. I was very underwhelmed about it. Luckily it got much better !

I was at a 'posh' Grammar school in the late 60s/early 70s. A lot of my friends had sex from 14 onwards it's not a new thing. In fact, it would have been interesting to know the year as well as the age to see if there are any significant trends.
sparkleandsunshine · 04/02/2021 17:17

16, he was a year older than me and it was both our first times and it was rubbish for both of us 😂 next boyfriend equally rubbish even though he was more experienced! At 17 I met my now husband who was 19 and a virgin. We took our time and it was finally amazing, 13.5 years later and we’re married with 2 kids and it’s still amazing 😂

Holothane · 04/02/2021 17:20

22 and it was crap as all sex was with him.

Cpl654321 · 04/02/2021 17:25

My dad is Irish and my friends from his town (countryside) didn't seem to have sex until years after I did (I was 15). Most people were late teens.

What was even weirder to me was that I knew some girls who didn't want to admit to it, like the nuns had really drilled in the idea that it was dirty and disgusting. Some of them got pregnant though so they had to admit it then 🤷🏻‍♀️

PurBal · 04/02/2021 17:25
  1. Though I saw a comment that said "poor thing" when someone said the same. I really don't agree. He was my high school boyfriend for 4 years from the age of 12. Young, sure, but the experience was a really positive one.
Wotapolava · 04/02/2021 17:27

Rethink the question.

How many lost their virginity to themselves?
