Where have you been in last three months?

Just wondered what others have left their local area for in the last few weeks. It hit me the other day, that other than all three of us travelling to our local town three miles away for work and I've done a couple of click and collects, none have us have left our village. The only exception is me as I unexpectedly found out I could get a covid jab through work, and had to drive ten miles away - I made the most of my trip out and came back the country way - I didn't rush and really enjoyed the scenery.

Furthest I've been is 20 miles. Took DH to his hospital appointment.

Other than that, School Run, tesco, and the tip!

MojoJojo71 · 01/02/2021 16:58

Work
Local parks
My parents garden to drop off shopping/ medication
A round trip to London to collect student DS in December

EmmaGrundyForPM · 01/02/2021 16:58

DH and I both wfh full time. We take it in turns to walk to the village shop for bread/milk etc plus get a Tesco delivery every fortnight.

I go to the vaccine hub 12 miles away to volunteer every weekend. I did think about stopping at the big supermarket nearby on the way back yesterday but decided it wasn't strictly necessary.

Otherwise we walk the dog round the local fields. It's bloody boring

Vintagevixen · 01/02/2021 17:07

Up and down to London a lot from the south coast, bubbled with my brothers family and taking DD to her dads for his weekends.

Obviously my own south coast town too, been all around that for walks on various bits of the coast.

Obviously the supermarket etc, get a takeaway coffee every day too.

DrunkenKoala · 01/02/2021 17:10

Bluewater shopping centre - 10 miles
Swimming pool - 2 miles
Hairdressers - round the corner
School runs - DD school 0.5 miles. DS school 3 miles
Park and playground - end of my road
Sainsbury’s - 2 miles
National Trust - 30 miles (we were in Tier 4, but tickets booked when still in Tier 3).

Nowhere for months, its driving me crazy! I have worked from home since last March and shopping is click & collect which OH picks up (plus Tesco is less than a mile away anyway).

I went to my mum for Christmas Day when Boris allowed it but even that is only 3 miles away :-(

Bluearsedfly36 · 01/02/2021 17:38

Hospital for an MRI scan. Highlight of the year so far!

Oblomov21 · 01/02/2021 17:41

13 miles for work once a week.
Other than not out of our town. Seen no one.

Exhausteddog · 01/02/2021 17:43

I've been to work 25 miles away (but not since christmas)
Supermarket (about 8 miles away)
Pet shop (5 miles away)
We drove about 45 miles recently to see MIL who has a terminal illness.

NovemberR · 01/02/2021 17:47

I went 8 miles to the dentist last week, which was exciting (although I need a filling). I went to a different supermarket whilst I was there.

Apart from that I've been for a ride out with DH to the tip (15 miles away - had to book)

Nowhere apart from that.

namesnamesnamesnames · 01/02/2021 17:49

Work. Home. Walks in my village. Shops in my village. Butcher in closest town.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 01/02/2021 18:01

Round the block about a zillion times.
Asda.
That’s about it - except for a very exciting trip the other day to get my 1st dose of the AZ vaccine. 🙂

speakout · 01/02/2021 18:06

Furthest is 5 miles.
But OH travels a lot- every couple of weeks to the other end of the country.
Currently 400 miles from home.

JaninaDuszejko · 01/02/2021 18:12

I went to the local retail park 10 miles away in December. Exciting days!

Sorryusernamealreadyexists · 01/02/2021 18:17

Food shopping, home, work. Confused

Sorryusernamealreadyexists · 01/02/2021 18:18

Oh and what felt like a day trip to get tested about 45 minutes drive away (neatest test centre)

uncomfortablydumb53 · 01/02/2021 18:21

10 miles to hospital eye clinic!
Back again on Thursday which will be the highlight of the week, not working due to disability

Screwcorona · 01/02/2021 18:29

I've been in my house, to the beach (800m from my house), supermarket, pharmacy and hospital.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 01/02/2021 18:30

Local hospitals so about 10/13 miles away about 4 times

Dentist and orthodontist 3/4 miles away about once a month

Shopping, click and collect about 10 miles away about once a week

Local shopping centre for food about 5 miles away about once a month

Apart from that stayed in the village and walked to local town 2 miles away once a week or so

MrsMigginsPie · 01/02/2021 18:32

In November drove 30miles to see my sibling for a support bubble visit. Over December - January drove 7miles 3-4 times for the vet. Other than that have stayed within 1-2 miles of home and probably only go out for a non-exercise reason once every 2 weeks. Have to go to a medical appt fir my DC this week (4 miles away).....I’m quite excited by the “trip out”!

scrivette · 01/02/2021 18:33

4 miles once to post a birthday into my parents house. Apart from that 2 miles once a week to visit the local supermarket although I haven't been out of the house for 14 days due to isolating.

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 01/02/2021 18:39

Two miles to the dentist once.

Walk round the estate where I live. Nowhere else. The car hasn’t been used since I went to the dentist I haven’t been to a shop, park, town or anywhere else at all since September, when I went to the eye hospital.

Labobo · 01/02/2021 18:48

Nowhere, really. Into London a few times in November to help DS who was isolated as a fresher there. Back into London for an evening out before December lockdown began. Once into nearby town to exchange presents with an old friend and do some Christmas shopping. Everything else bought online. That's it. We've stayed home in our village and walked in our village and shopped in our village and not even seen friends from the village.

All last year I only left home twice - once to help elderly parents during lockdown crisis and then stayed on in the area for a week for work that cropped up there by chance, and once for a UK holiday.

CrocodilesCry · 01/02/2021 19:23

Furthest is 12 miles to drop some things to my DM to save her going out. Other than that, literally a couple of miles to the shops and back once every week/ten days.

I've gone from doing 12,000 miles a year in my car to less than 3,000 since this time last year.

Work is a 25 mile round trip and I've probably made that journey 15 times since the end of last March. Now we're not allowed in the office at all.

Don't forget to reduce the mileage you're insured for if you're now working from home for the foreseeable future! Saves some money.

orchidsonabudget · 01/02/2021 19:24

In December went about 45 mins drive away to swap presents with my mum and dad. Other than that nearest town about 3 times tops.
