Where have you been in last three months?

Just wondered what others have left their local area for in the last few weeks. It hit me the other day, that other than all three of us travelling to our local town three miles away for work and I've done a couple of click and collects, none have us have left our village. The only exception is me as I unexpectedly found out I could get a covid jab through work, and had to drive ten miles away - I made the most of my trip out and came back the country way - I didn't rush and really enjoyed the scenery.

also got a flat battery here!

work and back (3 miles).

Went to the only McDonalds near us at the weekend which is 5 miles away after a walk.

Hippopotas · 01/02/2021 16:20

Furthest I’ve been was to a hospital appointment next town over.

purplecorkheart · 01/02/2021 16:21

I have stayed within 4km of my home since mid October (I can walk to my work place). The nearest Supermarket that actually has stock is 4km away.

HazelBite · 01/02/2021 16:21

The vets, the local newsagent, the doctors and the dentist, the garden, the garage.......................

BigusBumus · 01/02/2021 16:22

All over, my business takes me in a 50 miles radius to home.

Goodbye2020Hello2021 · 01/02/2021 16:22

Other than the supermarket, work (30-40min drive away) and the NT property near to work...

Badabingbadabum · 01/02/2021 16:22

We went about 8 miles to a large park once. I travel from work once or twice a week and that is a bus and a train. I walk to a supermarket a couple of miles away sometimes. We went to an arboretum about 20 miles away after Christmas just as I desperately wanted to give my dc a nice few hours out somewhere.

Fifthtimelucky · 01/02/2021 16:23

At the beginning of December I collected my daughter from university (about 3.5 hours drive each way).

Also in December, I drove my husband to the nearest big town for a hospital appointment to see a consultant for ongoing problem (just less than 30 miles for the round trip).

A couple of weeks ago I drove my elderly neighbours to have their vaccinations in the same town.

Once a week I drive to the supermarket (less than 1 mile for the round trip).

Other than walks (no car involved), that's it.

Husband regularly charges the car batteries!

8Track · 01/02/2021 16:23

Local shop, few hundred yards away.
Park to walk the dog.
Surgery for a smear test, 1 mile walk.
Court, a 10 minute train journey and 2 miles of walking.
Other local shop.
Welfare visit to a single neighbour's doorstep.

ChocOrange1 · 01/02/2021 16:23

Oh yes in december we went to the local farm park and a theme park for their christmas events

Monkeytennis97 · 01/02/2021 16:25

To work (school)
To my son's care home (twice)

That's it.

Katie1784 · 01/02/2021 16:25

Work is about three miles from my house. I go once a week (work rest of my hours at home).
Other than that I very rarely use the car as we do grocery shopping online and walking is our only entertainment. Very lucky to have lovely open spaces / woods / field paths nearby and can have a really good walk staying within a couple of miles radius of home.
We did drive to the coast for a day back in the summer; other than that I have only taken DD back and forth to university 150 miles away (drive there, and drive back, about a seven hour round trip).
That's it since last March!

BeginningBridge · 01/02/2021 16:27

Early December I drive 50 miles ( each way) so collect a secondhand part for my sons hobby.
In the same week I went into my office ( 45 miles each way).
Since then I have just been to the Doctors and local hospital once. Literally no where else.

muddledmidget · 01/02/2021 16:29

I'm still driving between 100 and 500 miles a week for work, varying between a store that's 15 miles from home and my furthest store is 85 miles away! Apart from that I've not been anywhere other than the opticians and the supermarket since Xmas

MissPinkCakeyBun · 01/02/2021 16:29

Key worker with a 50 mile each way commute, so until the 3rd lockdown I was driving to work and back, however we are now working on a rota system so I'm at home for 2 months full time WFH and then at the end of the month back to commute for 2 months. It's helped a lot of the team with caring issues

Bloodybridget · 01/02/2021 16:30

Hospital appointments, about four miles away. And max ten miles for a drive somewhere more green and scenic than north east London.

bloodywhitecat · 01/02/2021 16:30

My mileage has probably gone up during lockdown. DP was in a major hospital about 90 miles from home so I spent time visiting him and now he is undergoing chemo at a hospital 30 miles from home. My foster baby still sees their birth family so I take him to the centre where he spends time with his parents at least once a week.

Freshprincess · 01/02/2021 16:31

Supermarkets mostly
A few other shops at Christmas
Parents on Christmas Day (6 miles away, the furthest I’ve been on 3 months)
Have been running or walking every day, but never further than 2/3 miles from my house.
That’s it.

I’m so desperate for a change of scene.

HappyFlamingo · 01/02/2021 16:31

I've been in to work (17 miles away) four times in the last three months. Apart from that, just to the local town (5 miles away) for shops, orthodontist appointments etc.

DianaT1969 · 01/02/2021 16:32

Nowhere beyond to the local park and supermarket. I could walk further, but am working from home and can't get far in a lunch hour.

sunflowersandbuttercups · 01/02/2021 16:34

I feel like we've been to loads of places compared to some of you!

Work - DH works 35 miles away, and I work within a 15 mile radius of home. Neither of us can WFH so go to work as normal. DH is in construction and I'm a dog walker.
Supermarket, though we try and get deliveries where possible.
Petrol station (no pay-at-pump options here so you have to go in).
Shops (while in tier 2).
McDonald's and other local takeaways.
The pub and a few restaurants (again, while in tier 2).
Post Office at least 2-3 times a week for work-purposes (paying cash in and posting parcels to customers).
Garage when DH's car broke down.
The local bike shop for parts.
Local farm shop for fruit and vegetables.

I also go into people's homes for work, though generally there's nobody else at home at the time.

NorbertMeubles · 01/02/2021 16:34

Aldi and Morrisons only. Both less than 3 miles away.

DinosApple · 01/02/2021 16:35

In the last three months I've been to our nearest town twice, three miles away. A Christmas food collection and a trip to Sainsbury's. I work in the village that I live in so don't need to drive.

Fortunately DH works in the town so no flat batteries here.

chipsandgin · 01/02/2021 16:42

In my bedroom. Sometimes I go to another room for a change of scenery. Mostly my room though & occasionally the kitchen/bathroom/kids rooms, once in a while if I stop the relentless working/homeschooling/sorting shit out for 5 minutes. Sometimes I go to the living room - but it’s an occasional treat.

I’ve also been to the supermarket a couple of times & once I went to pick up a prescription from the chemist, I think that was about three weeks ago. I went for two walks too during January, but the opportunity doesn’t really arise during daylight hours. Fun times.

maddiemookins16mum · 01/02/2021 16:48

Pharmacy - 6 miles
Coop - 4 miles
Work - 6 miles.
Living room - 10 metres.
