Which kitchen would you choose?

If you had to pick one of the 3.

Dh and I buying new build. We had picked a kitchen but we're back at square one after changing plot. I know none of these are colourful before anyone says we plan to add colour through accessories that can be changed rather than any permanent choices.

We both disagree on what we like. One of these is my favourite, one is his and one is the choices we'd made last time.

Opinions please I'm desperate Sad

And yes I know it's very standard new build kitchen and that isn't for everyone, understood.

I really like B, lovely combination.

DelphiSwimsLate · 31/01/2021 09:18

Forgot to say - I think the herringbone tiles look better than the Art Deco ones.

Zenithbear · 31/01/2021 09:25

A is too pale.
Hate the herring bone layout tiles.
Tiles are ok themselves but I would go for brick layout.
They're all pretty boring but b and c are fine.

Depends on the work surface.

If laminate-B if solid-A

intheshallows · 31/01/2021 09:38

B! Lovely, classic and least likely to date leaving you with regret down the line!

intheshallows · 31/01/2021 09:40

Although if solid wood worktops they'll be a pain to maintain.

PerveenMistry · 31/01/2021 09:52

A, hands down.

Herringbone backsplash is awful.

YellowEllis · 31/01/2021 09:52

Feel like I'm never fully happy with any of them because it's just not quite what I want! This is the dream. The floor isn't any more than what we're paying now but we'd need to find the extra for the quartz. Dh just said get a quote if I'm really not happy so fingers crossed. I know it's still not everyone's cup of tea but I love it and have wanted it from day one

Aren't those cabinets grey rather than white though?

Yes ours are light grey/off white. A little more white than that pic but still would look good I think

I love your inspiration kitchen! I don’t get why you’d pick your wall tiles though if that’s what you’re going for? The picture is very serene, simple and clear liens where as the tiles are very busy and don’t have that kind of vibe?

foxhat · 31/01/2021 10:06

B. Definitely not C as the flooring jars with the rest of the kitchen.

BungleandGeorge · 31/01/2021 10:06

I like the new worktop. As I said earlier I’d try and find the extra for the upgrade, a natural work surface makes the whole thing look much better and lasts way better than laminate. The sink is likely to cost more too though

CaraDuneRedux · 31/01/2021 10:11

Hate the tiles for A, I'd go with B or C.

daisypond · 31/01/2021 10:12

If you can get quartz/ granite worktop, go for that and kitchen A. Source independent granite workshops. I did this for my kitchen and got a lovely worktop for a snip. I don’t know how possible it is to do that with a new build.

Bulldoglady · 31/01/2021 10:12

Can you not get money off and ask them not to install if you only get those three as options? You can pick your own kitchen so you can avoid all the fake marble!?

Foxyloxy1plus1 · 31/01/2021 10:13

When we moved into our new build six years ago, the choices were themed, which was fine. The kitchen worktop was laminate in a kind of distressed grainy style. I wasn’t mad about it, but thought we could live with it. We couldn’t. We had it changed after a couple of years to a quartz one. I’d go for quartz if you can possibly stretch to it. Neither of you will be particularly happy with the compromise otherwise.

Lovemylittlebear · 31/01/2021 10:13

I love A

Cheator · 31/01/2021 10:17

It's a B from me.

hannahbananananananana · 31/01/2021 10:23

Yes - this last one is perfect. We splashed out for the quartz we wanted and it was definitely worth it.

Muitolegal · 31/01/2021 15:35

Floor from A
Tiles etc from C

YellowEllis · 01/02/2021 22:07

We have ordered chevron oak floor and white quartz worktops, with splashback and upstand. No tiles. I'll post a picture once it's done! Thanks for talking me into it Grin

Side note, whilst I have your attention.. now I've changed my downstairs flooring to chevron oak, do I need to change my carpet? The two floors will meet at the bottom of the stairs and into the lounge. Our stairs have oak and glass bannisters so would that be enough to make them go?

A with a wood countertop not marble

PenguinBarnotBird · 01/02/2021 22:27

Gorgeous floors OP. Would change carpet to warmer colour than grey.
