Which kitchen would you choose?

If you had to pick one of the 3.

Dh and I buying new build. We had picked a kitchen but we're back at square one after changing plot. I know none of these are colourful before anyone says we plan to add colour through accessories that can be changed rather than any permanent choices.

We both disagree on what we like. One of these is my favourite, one is his and one is the choices we'd made last time.

Opinions please I'm desperate Sad

And yes I know it's very standard new build kitchen and that isn't for everyone, understood.

I like the wooden counter top with the A combination, but I'm still not keen on the tiles on A even with the better picture...I think that the tiles on B would tone better.

christmasathomeagain · 31/01/2021 00:47

A. We have similar floor as B but don't think it goes with white as much.

DoubleDessertPlease · 31/01/2021 00:52

100% A love the flooring (I wouldn’t care whether the floor matched the oak door or not tbh as long as they didn’t clash, actually a contrast might look good).

I'd go with b, although personal preference would be those kitchens that look like the hotel \ industrial type kitchens , eg big cookers, big metal cooking extractors, all steel work tops , the whole clinical industrial style setup.

BungleandGeorge · 31/01/2021 00:55

Personally I’d just go for very plain white tiles if you want the wood laminate. It’s too much with the patterned tiles, even the herringbone are a bit busy for me with the wood

MargotLovedTom1 · 31/01/2021 01:03

What colour is your sink? Is it the putty colour in the picture?

Well despite 5 hours sleep and infinite moodboards I can't come up with a better design than this (plus cup handles)

I'm worried the marble worktop will look tacky, that's the only white version and the other wood options look like they'll clash with the oak doors. Wood floor wood worktops and wood doors is too much. I'm stuck here!

It really does look fine. I class wood (or wood effect) as a neutral so it doesn't look 'busy'. I think what's throwing people with the tiles is seeing them out of proportion and spaced in an odd way in your mock up (understandable as you're not a professional kitchen designer with the relevant software!). They'd look entirely different on a wall.

Do you and your husband like it? That's the only thing that matters. Sometimes asking opinions on here is not helpful at all as everyone contradicts one another leaving you more confused.

greenemerald · 31/01/2021 08:24

B

Ginandplatonic · 31/01/2021 08:24

That looks fine. If that’s your favourite go for it, and stop second guessing yourself. It will be lovely.

dudsville · 31/01/2021 08:30

It's really fine, it's a solid neutral kitchen OP.

CormoranStrike · 31/01/2021 08:31

B or c

MissTeree · 31/01/2021 08:32

B, but with A's worktop

MissTeree · 31/01/2021 08:35

Can you put a white granite worktop on that one?

RuggeryBuggery · 31/01/2021 08:41

I like your final option 👌
Agree that unfortunately marble effect laminate does look more tacky/dated than wood effect.

If they were giving you an option of plain solid colour laminate I would actually go for that in a sort of concrete grey and keep tiles and floor lighter. But sorry to derail. If you only have the wood option or the marble then def would you have chosen is best and looks very nice

daisypond · 31/01/2021 08:42

Is the wood option actual wood? That makes a big difference. I would regard wood effect as more tacky than marble effect - it’s just more obvious.

A but tbh there's not that much there to agonise over, they're much of a muchness. Can you each agree one favourite element - floor, tiles?

I agree with this. I think once you've made a decision and living with it you won't remember the other options.
DelphiSwimsLate · 31/01/2021 09:11

B with As worktop.

I don't think the marble will date if the rest of the surfaces are right. Bs floor will compliment they gray in As worktop marble.

In the latest combo you're leaning towards, I don't think any of the surfaces match. You won't be able to match the oak doors with those wooden-look surface options, hence I think the safest thing to do is go for something white. I also think dark flooring will show up a the dirt more.

Agree with PPs on changing the handles if you can.

I'm kitchen planning atm, so have spent a lot of time on Houzz. Have a look there too for ideas, if you have time.

peachypetite · 31/01/2021 09:14

The grey and
Brown tones don’t really work together. No wow factor. Sorry!
