@NancyPickford

I have a Theremin in the living room.

Excellent @NancyPickford .

Our kitchen and our bathroom have to share a doorknob. Sadly those rooms are not on the same floor.

shinynewapple2021 · 28/01/2021 22:55

I love your miniature house and your sweets cupboard @BitOfFun .

Does your house have furnished rooms inside ?

I find the people who seem troubled by the idea of people wearing shoes in a house very strange. In my house I may wear shoes , I may wear slippers and I may have bare feet .... but then my dog sits on the furniture including the bed so I doubt if they'd like that either .

Brilliant 😂😂😂

MadameTuffington · 28/01/2021 22:57
@MadameTuffington Awww that is adorable! One of my buns would wee on the bed. Something about the texture of the duvet I think. Both the rabbits were far too busy chewing my skirting boards and digging the carpet into shreds to be fussed about sleeping at night anyway! Grin
I bloody love my rabbit - keeps me sane in these bizarre times 🙏

If there's one thing I've learned from MN, it's that this is a black / white issue. You're either for it or against it & never the Twain shall meet!

(I'm against shoe-wearing in the house but don't impose it on visitors, when we were able to have any)

donewithitalltodayandxmas · 28/01/2021 23:02

What a bathroom
Flip flops ?

BitOfFun · 28/01/2021 23:02

Not yet, shiny, but I'll put a request in!

Tobee- I can just imagine that Grin. I bet you'd sort of miss it though if you got it fixed. It makes me think of James Stewart kissing the loose staircase fineal near the end of 'It's A Wonderful Life' Grin.

We have an area of floor we don’t walk on as thats where we eat.

Why do you eat on the floor?

ilovepixie · 28/01/2021 23:07

@Twinkie01

Do the pinch punch first of the month thing but take it seriously enough to hide in the loft and drop down to get someone first!
Love this!
Insomniacexpress · 28/01/2021 23:08

No microwave. Haven’t had one for a decade

Jocasta2018 · 28/01/2021 23:10

@SimonJT
Love the sound of your bookcase with the ladder!
In my dreams I have a study/library like Professor Higgins in the film version of 'My Fair Lady' - the ceiling is high enough that the bookshelves are on different levels requiring a spiral staircase to reach the upper level. This level contains a ladder on wheels to get to even more books.

The slightly strange thing in my house is that every room downstairs, excepting the loo, has at least one floor to ceiling bookcase packed of books plus others with CDs & DVDs. I like to read....

shitinmyhandsandclap · 28/01/2021 23:10

I thought everyone kept jam in the fridge? I've got 2 jars that say to refrigerate once opened

ilovepixie · 28/01/2021 23:16

I have a cardboard cutout of a famous sports star in my living room. And a cut out of a famous singer in my bedroom!

Lizardcentral · 28/01/2021 23:17

My cooking and heating is by gas in a bottle, delivered to the door.
The washing machine is outside on the terrace.

ilovepixie · 28/01/2021 23:24

@AprilThe8th

We have one large drink between 3 of us at mealtimes.Dont know why at all because liquids aren't in short supply.
How does that work? Do you pass the glass around? Or keep it in the middle of the table and you just help yourself?
plominoagain · 28/01/2021 23:28

Until 2 years ago , our range cooker was on our patio - it didn’t fit in our old kitchen so we built it a hut outside ! All of which started after I ordered a huge turkey for Christmas and then realised it didn’t fit in our old one.

We have two ponies at home. One is called Beatrice (Bea), the other is called Bo . Of a dark winters evening, I can often be heard bellowing “ Bee ! Bo! across the field . Our new neighbours thought I was playing hide and seek...

@Dontsayyouloveme

Does anyone flush leftover food down the toilet? I don’t but know two people who do! I can’t get my head around it.. I just imagine it looking like sick! 🤢
I do with soup, and yes it looks like sick, I have to slightly avert my eyes!
NancyPickford · 28/01/2021 23:37

@fuckknuckle practising - it’s not an easy instrument to learn.

feistyoneyouare · 28/01/2021 23:38

When we lived in our previous house we had a treadmill in the living room because there was nowhere else to put it. (That did turn out to be pretty handy for watching TV while training, mind you. Grin )

And before we moved to the house we live in now, the previous owners had a shed in the back garden shaped/painted like a TARDIS. I wish they'd not taken it with them when they left, it would have been such a talking point. Grin

IncludeWomenInTheSequel · 28/01/2021 23:41

@margaritasbythesea

We eat tomato pulp on toast in the morning with olive oil, as do most of the people in Dh's country, Spain, do. And no one here. My children still think this is amazing.
I would eat this every day!

What do you do, stick some tomato on, drizzle oil over and grill?

LicketySplat · 28/01/2021 23:42

@spiderlight

A regular job in our house is sloth redistribution. Our dog is obsessed with cuddly toys and for reasons too ridiculous to repeat, we have got ourselves into a situation where he collects sloths. He has to have a teddy to carry with him on all significant occasions, such as getting up in the morning or going to his food bowl, which means that we accumulate piles of stuffed sloths in the kitchen and on his downstairs bed and periodically have to sneak half a dozen or so back upstairs when he's not looking (if he sees you trying to take them upstairs he will mug you and bring as many as he can carry back down).
This made me smile so much.
ShopoholicIn · 28/01/2021 23:44

@LaceyBetty we have three bathrooms and all showers..I don't like the bath tub personally. Grin

ilovepixie · 28/01/2021 23:45

We have two sitting rooms but one tv. We carry the tv from room to room depending on which sofa we want to sit on.*

LicketySplat · 28/01/2021 23:46

We have a season table/altar. Inspired by a combination of pagan reverence for nature and Waldorf Steiner ideas. My kids don't go to a Steiner school though. No one outside my family know I am pagan really.

Summerunlover · 28/01/2021 23:47

Braille devices, and talking equipment all over the place. I love it when guests stand in the bathroom scales and don’t realise it reads your weight out!!
