Oh and there is a desk in the kitchen and one in the garden room (don't know what to call it - an extension with mostly windows) neither it which are used as desks.

Bookcase and armchairs breed here. I have 4 of each in one room.

FlimFla · 28/01/2021 21:15

I iron and starch my sheets. Do not use fitted sheet but flat sheet for bottom of bed. Then another sheet under the duvet.

NB. This is just for me, don't bother for anyone else's beds in the household.

hansgrueber · 28/01/2021 21:15

I keep jam in the fridge, comes of living in a hot country, if I didn't there would be a crust of ants around the sticky parts of the jar, or I would thoroughly wipe it ever day.

@BobbidyBob

Another one with a house rabbit here (you can sneer at me too if you want *@EarringsandLipstick* 😒) and he’s cuddled up with me on the sofa now. He occasionally sleeps at the foot of the bed but mostly prefers the whole sofa to himself at night.
Eh?

Where's that coming from? My comment to the previous poster was light-hearted that I would hate any animal in my bed (I quickly followed up explaining that, and I was the same with cats)

No need for snarkiness.

That reminds me - also I keep my marmalade in the fridge because I like cold marmalade

hansgrueber · 28/01/2021 21:16

@JuniLoolaPalooza

I keep the school uniform in a giant tub downstairs with the underwear so dc can get dressed straight after breakfast without fanning around upstairs. Just pop up quickly to brush teeth before shoes. Somewhat redundant at the moment of course!

A baby grand piano

We have a curtain over our front door which is very old fashioned but I love it.

Toothbrushes on the downstairs loo of there is one, as well as in the upstainrs bathroom. I do this even now, old legs prefer it.
BitOfFun · 28/01/2021 21:18

I have a tuck-shop cupboard.

My children have left home, otherwise it would not be possible.

Old rocking horses cluttering up the place.

Worstyear2020 · 28/01/2021 21:19

I freeze bread too, thought it is common.

EarringsandLipstick · 28/01/2021 21:20

Oh wow @BitOfFun

I would have a LOT of fun with that cupboard; mere hours would see a sizeable dent in it (chocolate items anyway. I don't like 'sweets')

Worstyear2020 · 28/01/2021 21:20

Omg BitOfFun it is is cute

Quit4me · 28/01/2021 21:21

For years, I cleaned my teeth in bed (next to my DH), swallowed the toothpaste and left the brush on the side next to me until morning.
Is that weird??

TheSunIsStillShining · 28/01/2021 21:21

It seems we are more normal than we thought

  • 2 "offices" in the living room
  • freeze bread and milk
  • keep jam in fridge (also from hot country times :) )

but when we get a cat she will be banned from the bedroom.

@spiderlight I'm gonna need a picture of the sloth collector...

@Magpiecomplex surely not full sized ones?!

Puzzledandpissedoff · 28/01/2021 21:23

We have an area of floor we don’t walk on as thats where we eat

SimonJT can I ask if it's somehow "sectioned off", and if not what you do about visitors?

I'd be so ashamed if I inadvertently blundered over an area like that Blush

Therainisback · 28/01/2021 21:23

*14cortex10

DH has taken up woodworking as his lockdown hobby. He's started storing planks of wood (oak, walnut, etc) next to the bed. Says they need to 'acclimatise' indoors. I think he's getting obsessed.*

I feel your pain. My DH plays with wood.

oakleaffy · 28/01/2021 21:23

Those sweeties wouldn’t last long after I had a legal cannabis cake for my arthritis 😂

Daisy829 · 28/01/2021 21:24

@spiderlight your dog story made me laugh. I can just imagine it. They are funny creatures.

Belladonna123 · 28/01/2021 21:25

I love this thread! It's making me feel.......... normal 😅

pinkandblueflowers · 28/01/2021 21:27

I'm having great fun reading these although I can't say there's anything massively weird about my house

MissingLinker · 28/01/2021 21:27

We have the Death Cupboard.
Originally, it was just a cupboard with very old photos of dead relatives who'd have mostly died before I was even born. Then OH won a full size skeleton at a work fundraiser who also lives in there. And then she won his wife the following year. We've arranged them in there on chairs and got them clothes.
So yeah.

00100001 · 28/01/2021 21:27

Can't get over the fact OP thinks its weird to freeze bread 😂
