I recently found out the name of something which was discontinued years ago and I still mourn.

Terrys Moments - Hexagonal chocolate with a caramel filling inside

Orange Chewits I swear are gone too.

Anything else missed?

Another one - Weekend Chocolates. I recall seeing these on the top shelf in our local corner shop and from what I recall it had a colourful (flowery?) package.

My DM rarely bought chocolates but one day a relative was ill, we bought one of these hallowed boxes and I was allowed some of the chocolates when we visited the relatives. Heaven.

M&S chocolate delight - it was white chocolate mousse, chocolate yoghurt, chunks of chocolate, swirls of melted chocolate and had brownies in the bottom.

I had it every Wednesday after school at my Nana’s house for tea, I’m always on the look out for it.

I'd forgotten all about pizza fingers and now i need them 😫

movingonup20 · 27/01/2021 09:57

They used to do a salad dressing and separate marinade kit for Thai chicken salad, was a delicious quick meal

movingonup20 · 27/01/2021 09:58

@CleverCatty

Oh yes, tiffin - Aldi discontinued theirs, and their single chocolate pots

eclipsechips · 27/01/2021 09:58

Greggs Red Thai Chicken Sandwiches and Bradfords Bakers Tipsy Cake

@WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo

Mars dark and light. I think they were limited edition. My mum bought us all one as a treat but it was lent and I'd given up chocolate. Mine sat in the cupboard until Easter and then I savoured every bite.

Pot mash. Like pot noodles but with flavoured smash in.

DS said quorn hot dogs. No where seems to sell them anymore.

Go to somewhere like Home Bargains or B&M, they have mash pits, for about 39p

What I miss also (in a roll here) is the fake cream donuts that supermarkets and bakers sold until the 90's, more like buttercream. Also (might be still available in London if so will need to mail order) these flaky pastry and jam cake things covered in long strips of coconut, called cheesecake but no cheese involved. Not had one since my parents moved out of London 20 years ago, I already lived elsewhere. Oh and dry spare ribs, only way to describe them, sold in London fish and chip shops

Afonavon · 27/01/2021 10:59

Nice and spicy Pot Noodle

Mushroom Feast (DH yearns for this frozen delicacy)

Start cereal

Mighty White bread (I bloody loved it with lashings of shit Gold spread...but imagine now how it would be with lovely proper butter)

Afonavon · 27/01/2021 11:12

Oh another which I loved is quite recent.

Mc Donalds sold a veggie burger which had chickpeas in it and it was bloody amazing, the best burger I’ve ever had. However they’ve changed to veggie goujons which are like shitty vegetable fingers with no texture, protein or taste. Such a shame, but my body is probably healthier as I have no reason to go to McDonalds anymore.

00100001 · 27/01/2021 11:12

@movingonup20 Aldi well London Cheesecakes :D

00100001 · 27/01/2021 11:12

Jojojo32 · 27/01/2021 11:51

CodMouth · 27/01/2021 11:59

You can still get Old Jamaica. I bought five bars for myself for Christmas for £1 a bar.

I miss Birds Eye Potato Fritters, Nibbits Wheelz snacks, Heinz Haunted House and Noodle Doodle pasta shapes, Bitza Pizza crisps and Football Crazy cheese ball crisps with a sticker in the bag.

ShakeaHettyFeather · 27/01/2021 12:01

Lea and Perrin's in the 90s did a gloopy ginger and garlic sauce that was perfect on fish fingers or other fish or in a stir fry - tangy and not too sweet. Bought 6 bottles when I found it was being discontinued.

Tiffany wafer bars - anyone remember them? Like pink wafer biscuits only twice as wide and thicker, and came in lemon or chocolate flavours.

Also Terry's chocolate oranges when they were solid, and Dairy Milk when it tasted nice, though Lidl Rich Milk Chocolate is nearly the same.

Skyla2005 · 27/01/2021 12:03

Mint Cadbury's cream eggs

hopelessbusiness · 27/01/2021 12:05

M&S used to do a frozen tuna fish pie which was delicious...tuna, peas, cheesy sauce, mash, more cheese. Was heavenly. I still look for it when I go in (even though it must be 25 years ago...😳)

Beamur · 27/01/2021 12:07

@ShakeaHettyFeather
A company called Linghams do an amazing ginger and garlic sauce you might like. It's like hen's teeth though - if I see it I bulk buy!

Teacakequeen · 27/01/2021 12:10

@keeponkeepinon

Ski yoghurt used to do a frozen yoghurt bar covered in chocolate. Strawberry or orange if I remember correctly. They were seriously delicious and I cant understand why they stopped making them
I loved these bars too! The orange flavour with dark chocolate was gorgeous
nicknamehelp · 27/01/2021 12:11

I had a real craving for banana yogurt last night went shopping this morning and there are none

RubyGoat · 27/01/2021 12:17

English Provender Company used to do a really dark chocolate spread, in a little square jar. It was very strong, very dark, & very delicious. It wasn't like "normal" chocolate spread, you could spread it really quite thinly, almost like Marmite, & your toast would still taste lovely. I've not seen it in nearly 20 years.

haliborange0verdose · 27/01/2021 12:20

Have not read any responses yet so don't know if these have already been mentioned, but....

  • Lamb & Mint sensations crisps.
  • Peanut Cracknell Quality Street and also the one that was a little jelly in chocolate, don't recall what it was called.
  • Spira chocolate bars
  • Toast toppers
  • Vesta chicken chow mein with the crispy noodles
  • Pyramint
  • I am the only person that remembers this, but one Christmas when I was little (about 1980?) I remember my mum buying Terry's chocolate orange but also they made another variety, either lemon or apple. Literally nobody I know can recall this, not even my brothers, who I remember her buying them for! I thought they were so exotic!
  • Matchmakers when they were in a long thin box and the size of actual matches.
  • This dessert in a sachet that my mum used to get, you added boiling water to the custardy bit that was lemon flavoured, then there was another sachet of crunchy topping that went on top of the custard. Don't remember what it was called but I loved it.
  • Heinz tomato and chilli soup
  • Quosh squash, especially the strawberry flavour one which you could either dilute with water or add milk for a milkshake!
  • Club biscuits with plain chocolate, that had a "club" off a pack of cards on the pack.... for some reason the milk choc ones were called Golf Club?
  • United biscuits, especially the orange variety
  • M&S chicken in a basket flavour crisps
  • Wheelz crisps
  • Schweppe's "Russsschian" tonic water - my mum used to get this at Christmas and I thought it was so sophisticated!

I'm sure more will come back to me if I have a think!
