I recently found out the name of something which was discontinued years ago and I still mourn.

Terrys Moments - Hexagonal chocolate with a caramel filling inside

Orange Chewits I swear are gone too.

Anything else missed?

fairyannie · 02/02/2021 23:05

Ovaltine chocolate bar.

Or was that a dream?

I was licking strawberry lampposts recently - woke up and my pillow was wet. Confused

Scampersaur · 02/02/2021 23:16

Symington’s table cream in Maple and Walnut flavour was one of my favourite puddings as a child.
And only 4 years ago M&S had some delicious mini red velvet cupcakes in their Christmas range that had red and white icing as a Santa hat, with a little meringue on top as the pom Pom. Can’t understand why they’ve not brought them back since!

Overseasmom100 · 02/02/2021 23:18

A zesty lemon fizzy drink that came in green cans but I can't remember the name of.
Toast toppers - specifically the cheese & ham ones.
Birds hot chocolate crunch pudding.
Squash with sugar in and not sweeteners.
Walkers cheese Snaps.
Apple & raspberry squash.
Orangina in big (2 litre) bottles - only see it in small bottles now.
Boasters.
Raspberry Ribena.
Potato Puff crisps - always a bag of crumbs but so tasty!

I've been looking for walkers beef & onion crisps for ages, have they stopped making them?

I got a multipack of those not long before Christmas, so I believe they’re probably still being made.

I’m trying to remember where I got them now. It must have been either Tesco, Sainsbury’s or the small corner shop whose name I’ve forgotten near the DC’s school. Possibly the corner shop, their range of stock can be quite random.

I really like the Walker’s pickled onion crisps, but the only supermarket in my area that stocks them seems to be the big Asda 15 miles away. I can’t really justify that trip at the minute when there’s other supermarkets nearer to me.

MotherOfAllZipFiles · 03/02/2021 16:02

Not a food as such, but Bournvita

Please tell me im not the only person who remembers this Confused

spiderlight · 03/02/2021 16:33

I loved Bournvita when I was a kid!! Totaly forgot it existed! Just looked it up and you can get it on Amazon for £11, as it's still sold in the US.

The thing I pine for is Tesco Finest chocolate tea. It was amazing. I used to have a cup of it after my dinner every evening and then suddenly it was no more. I have two teabags left - might have one tomorrow because it's my birthday.

VeganCow · 03/02/2021 16:55

Smiths tubes. Used to get them from the vending machine at the baths.

I remember the Ovaltine bar-wasn't it sort of crunchy?
sadpapercourtesan · 03/02/2021 17:27

A deodorant called Kyomi. It smelled amazing, I would buy it in bulk if I found it again!

MozzchopsThirty · 03/02/2021 17:37

@titchy @LaMarschallin you can still get mushroom double Swiss in BK in Thailand Grin
I appreciate it's a bit of a trek for a burger, but if you're ever there!!!!!
I've had one in Bangkok and Phuket

My votes would be:
Pacers
Spangles
M&S Kung po chicken
M&S Szechuan chicken / noodles
Findus Lean Cuisine zucchini lasagne (my mum used to buy them when she was doing slimming world
Findus Crispy Pancakes - the old orange ones with chicken & bacon and chicken & mushroom

MozzchopsThirty · 03/02/2021 17:45

@gingercatsarebest see above my post re mushroom double Swiss

I forgot one more:
Mac Donald's did an Italian burger in about 1997/1998, it had mozzarella in it and was delicious

Also the Mac Donald's jalapeño Swiss burger they did in 2014, that's gone now too Sad

haliborange0verdose · 05/02/2021 14:56

Can anyone help me think of the name of some crisps from the 80s please!! I bought THESE the other day and they are absolutely identical to some crisps my mum used to buy for me - I know they weren't Chipsticks, because those were bigger and more puffy. They also weren't French Fries, which are slightly curved and again more of a puffed snack. These crisps were little hard very crunchy match sized sticks, in a red pack - but I can't for the life of me remember what they were called, and my DH thinks I'm making it up!

SingToTheSky · 05/02/2021 14:59

Oh I remember those I think! Can’t remember a name though - I seem to remember having own brand ones from supermarkets.

CleverCatty · 05/02/2021 16:36

@Duvetstay

Umbongo & Highland toffee
oh I liked Umbongo! The advert jingle 'umbongo, umbongo they drink it in the Congo!'

I bet some PC idiot decided based on that jingle that it wasn't 'PC' so had it removed.

can't think of the name of these but I last bought these when I worked in a big 4 accountancy firm in past few years and the vending machine sold them

Was it these? Walkers French Fries? M&S do a very similar copy.

@Beamur

Has anyone mentioned Tooty Frooties yet?
No. They were nice for an epic sugar rush.

Does anyone recall, I'm sure they're discontinued but M&S or Sainsburys did Muffins that you toasted with stuff like cracked black pepper in them, maybe cheese too? Yum and delicious with butter or marge.
