NOT competitive undereating.

  1. Two slices each.
whattodo2019 · 26/01/2021 22:14

4 adults

caringcarer · 26/01/2021 22:15

I don't eat it if having pasta but other 3 adults and 14 year old have 2 baguettes between them.

Thismummyruns · 26/01/2021 22:19

2 adults, 2 young children.

Daddy always gets left with the ends 🤣

DolphinsAndNemesis · 26/01/2021 22:20

@Hahabonk

Honestly the worst thing about becoming a parent has been having to start sharing a standard supermarket garlic bread between three, not two people.
😅

I love this post so much.

atleastitsnot I think I remember ‘brewers’ fayre’ni can kind of see a swirly brownish font. I’m imagining a brown crockery soup tureen featuring. Were they at motorway services ? Or attached to pubs ? Not sure I ate in one. That lasagne chips and garlic bread reminds me of some school lunches and canteen type self service where I sometimes ended up with very odd combos.

QueenPawPaws · 26/01/2021 22:28

Brewers fayre still exist!

HeronLanyon · 26/01/2021 22:42

queenpawspaws thanks. Not only exist there are quite a few of them on A roads, linked to some premier inns and some pubs it seems. I honestly thought they were 80s90s ish. bit like discovering there are still a few wimpy s going. Actually not like that because BF (if I may be familiar) seem to be doing OK (pre Covid anyway).

MarthasGinYard · 26/01/2021 22:47

Blimey it's like the new MN chicken

Garlic baguette serves 19 but NEVER with pasta

Oh the gluttony Grin

GADDay · 26/01/2021 22:50

5 - 1 slice each. Anything more WITH pasta would be piggaletto.

OhMsBeliever · 26/01/2021 23:00

My cat loves garlic bread, sometimes he gets a bit too, depending on how generous we feel.

LaurieFairyCake · 26/01/2021 23:03

2

Because we're normal fucking humans instead of toddlers or weird food restriction fetishists Hmm

MechantGourmet · 26/01/2021 23:04

0- supermarket garlic baguettes have a really weird metallic taste, I hate them. Does anyone else find that? I hate coriander too (soapy taste) do wonder if it's linked? (DH likes coriander, and likes garlic baguettes)
I like garlic flatbreads (from Sainsbury's), so it's not just because it isn't homemade.

Shelby30 · 26/01/2021 23:06

Well 4 but it's a 1yr old, 3yr old and 2 adults. I actually only got half a bit tonight as one yr old cried for mine as she had finished hers 🙄 Ore children we used to eat it between us.

Bogiesaremyonlyfriend · 26/01/2021 23:13

I didnt realise garlic bread was still a thing. Havent had it in years!

Comefromaway · 26/01/2021 23:13

Four. Except I don’t like it so I always freeze a portion.

@OhMsBeliever

Just checking that you know that garlic is toxic for cats?

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 26/01/2021 23:20

The reason I don’t like supermarket GB, @MechantGourmet is that it’s never garlicky or buttery enough. If it was, I wouldn’t bother making it.

spongedog · 26/01/2021 23:24
  1. me! I love garlic bread and sorry dont share nicely.
GADDay · 26/01/2021 23:26

Really? You eat a WHOLE garlic bread.

That's greedy.

SeahorseoramI · 26/01/2021 23:26

Four

midnightstar66 · 26/01/2021 23:27

I make 2 for me and 2 primary age dc plus a large salad. We don't always eat every bit but 1 wouldn't be enough

HaveANiceFuckingDay · 26/01/2021 23:28

Eleventy five
..I only buy slices never baguette , no one eats the ends
Talking of double carbing ... what about a pie sandwich 🥪

ZenNudist · 26/01/2021 23:29

I baguette 4 people, often have a piece leftover. It's bland storage. We buy it but just nice to have a but of crunch and texture, dont eat tonnes.

OhMsBeliever · 26/01/2021 23:34

@GADDay yes, I do know. He usually gets crusty bit with not much, if any, garlic on. He likes bread, if my kids forget to put it in the bread bin he will rip open packets to get to it. Angry bad kids and bad kits.

Sadly I'm trying to be healthy so have mostly given up garlic bread and double carbing. This thread is bad for my health! Grin
