Just went for an evening walk, it was nicer than expected out, quite mild and dry

Spudlet · 05/02/2021 19:07

It’s looking like heavy snow here on Sunday and Monday with a bit more on Tuesday and Wednesday Shock We may have to dig the snow chains out to get to the supermarket (yes, I am that saddo who owns snow chains - I used to work at the bottom of a hill which was on a tiny, never gritted lane, and the thought of being stuck at work was more that I could bear).

DS will be delighted! I may bring my weekend run forward by a day though 🥶

MadKittenWoman · 05/02/2021 19:16

Got some kitchen scales from Lidl which tell you the fat, protein, carbs and calories in your food! This is a game-changer for people doing keto...

Nydj · 05/02/2021 19:16

Blimey, silkie, it’s all go! More congratulations. Would you please send us your email address so we call all send our lists for the proceeds of the completion? Grin.

Spudlet potato harvesting dvd sound lovely and soothing.

We have had pizza for dinner as it is Friday but I went mad and smeared a bit of leftover sauce for bibimbap on the garlic bread and made it even more delicious. Now have an apple crumble in the oven and feeling quite the domestic goddess 👸

MadKittenWoman · 05/02/2021 19:20

Just reading the manual. You can input a code for breast milk.

MissConductUS · 05/02/2021 19:35

Welcome, @MadKittenWoman, and thanks for your weighty news. Smile

I have a digital kitchen scale that gets used multiple times a day, but not so fancy as yours. It is really handy for portion control and recipes. My kids are in uni, so the setting you mention would go unused for me.

Nydj, it's pizza night chez Conduct as well, but not for another four hours or so.

Is anyone's DH or DP planning on watching the Superbowl on Sunday? It's going to be on rather late for you. They do it in the evening for the east coast so that the west coast gets it mid-afternoon.

I myself am not a big American football fan, but will probably watch most of it with DH and DS.

@Nydj - I had to google bibimbap and added it to the long list of food I know nothing about.

Silkiechickscat · 05/02/2021 20:27

Nydj Thanks - DD's list is at about £600,000 already Grin

HappyStep1 · 05/02/2021 21:03

My DDad and DMiL will both get their first Covid vaccine next week. V excited for them.

MissConductUS · 05/02/2021 21:17

Welcome, @HappyStep1, and thanks for your immunogenic news. That is great news for your DDad and DMiL. My lovely MIL got her first dose last week.

I have 14 minutes before I get to go home. Grin

I almost forgot to edit my supermarket order before the cut-off time to add coffee. But then I remembered.

Frownette · 05/02/2021 21:36

I'm not sure what to do to cheer myself up? Watch something on iPlayer? I don't feel like calling anyone!

Silkiechickscat · 05/02/2021 21:53

I recommend music and panda cam:

sproutsandparsnips · 05/02/2021 22:01

Booked 10 virtual parents evening appointments. Just like that.

mathanxiety · 06/02/2021 05:57

The bitter cold is upon us. I rocked up to my car this morning at 7.15 to find that the doors were frozen shut thanks to freezing rain followed by a hard freeze overnight. Had to mount the icy steps to my back porch to find the useless old windshield scraper that I stashed there a few months ago instead of throwing it out when I bought its replacement. A few minutes of hacking and tugging later and I was on my way. I made chili when I got home but we're out of egg noodles so had to have it with rice. I might make Jiffy cornmeal muffins tomorrow.

Frownette · 06/02/2021 06:30

Thanks Silkie. Fell asleep in the end. Did you celebrate last night?

Ouch mathanxiety that does sound cold. It's slightly nippy here. I need to pick up a parcel from neighbour after 10am probably. Is 9am too early...?

Silkiechickscat · 06/02/2021 07:10

We had a Thai meal and a glass of prosecco but mainly just very relieved its over.

LemonDrizzles · 06/02/2021 07:14

Dc2 walked earlier than dc1 so could not use hand me down wellies. They arrived yesterday. Not sure if she took to them straight away as she went back to crawling for 5 mins. After holding her hand for a minute she got used to them and can now walk in them

lurch3r · 06/02/2021 08:19

You must laugh at us in the UK, mathanxiety. News is of a 'light dusting' of snow in my area tomorrow and we can't decide whether to be excited or really worried. In dull news, I have ordered myself some fancy PJ's and paid extra for them to be gift wrapped because I want to open a present.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/02/2021 08:25

There is now 1 cm of snow on the terasse.
And Morose Pidgeon is disgusted with me because I moved the food bowl to a more sheltered place.

Frownette · 06/02/2021 08:28

Have you got a pic of morose pigeon?

HappyStep1 · 06/02/2021 08:50

Thank you @MissConductUS I am excited and relieved for them both Flowers

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 06/02/2021 09:13

@Frownette
Not yet....

HelenaJustina · 06/02/2021 10:08

@Silkiechickscat Flowers for the completion, congratulations!

@Squirrel26 your excised (see what I did there?) line in your post explaining sample analysis made me snort coffee!

HelenaJustina · 06/02/2021 10:10

DH has been up since 5am (I know because he likes to make it clear that he is awake, up and disgruntled) and so has had time to decide that today is the day to get new tyres for my car, book a holiday, change energy suppliers and investigate changing the WiFi... we shall see how much is actually achieved!
