We're expecting freezing rain, sleet, and snow on Thursday, followed by an Arctic spell for the following five days, so I'm going to do some shopping this afternoon. I'm not looking forward to driving on ice.

We're getting the same weather on Friday. Math, can you PLEASE stop sending us these storms?

I didn't know you were Irish. Smile

Got person out of prison. Not that the prison service bothered telling me beforehand. It was ridiculous anyway and I'm sure illegal.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/02/2021 19:28

You can have rain - the ordinary wet variety without any added excitement? There's lots to spare in my area.

I wanted to go out and buy some chocolate, but I missed lockdown (20:00) and so I have to stick to peppers and carrots.

Squirrel26 · 03/02/2021 19:30

I'm a bit confused as to the point of sending a person to prison for 3 weeks. Seems totally ridiculous.

Turns out I did need Essential Cake. And Essential Greek Yogurt. And Essential Indian Naan Bread Chips. So it was lucky I went shopping, really.

Frownette · 03/02/2021 20:08

Squirrel26 it was incredibly minor, locked up for anxiety (they were only shouting) without the police producing any paperwork. They still haven't. They're still promising this paperwork but it's a little too late as the sentence is over.

Cake sounds nice. I'd like to make a honey cake tomorrow and collapse, don't like jail drama.

Champagneforeveryone · 03/02/2021 20:09

Good news frownette Smile

The news Chez Champagne is that I am furious today. I have no specific reason for being furious, but do have an accumulation of small reasons to be a bit miffed.

DM has also just gaily announced that she will leave the purchase of her new car entirely up to me "as I did such a good job last time". Any questions relating to size, fuel type, gear box and (most importantly) price are met with bewilderment. DS is currently googling Hummers in an attempt to get her to narrow her criteria down a little Grin

forgetthehousework · 03/02/2021 20:15

Cake always sounds nice.
I opened a box of 5 Cadburys Creme Eggs, wondering how DH and I were going to split the odd one, and discovered there were six! The chocolate gods are smiling on us Smile

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 03/02/2021 20:19

What are Hummers?
And the word I wanted above is curfew, I think - Ausgangssperre

A hummer is a civilan version of a military vehicle that was sold for a while in the US:

motorandwheels.com/hummers-still-made/

They are enormous, uncomfortable and very expensive. And they have terrible fuel economy. Some men people with inflated egos liked them. There may be an electric version coming out later this year.

Champers I defend your absolute right to be miffed for miffedness sake. Rock on my son.

Many thanks Smile

I'm currently rage ironing, which is a surprisingly productive outpouring of emotion Grin

Silkiechickscat · 03/02/2021 22:03

Frownette Glad you got them out of prison.

Asked DH who always says he's going to old house for one final clearance and it will all definitely fit in car, this was fourth attempt and our buyers are in theory moving in Friday lunchtime. He said no his fourth final clearance wasn't final, he will do a final one on Friday morning. He always runs late so will try and get him to go tomorrow. So much junk he is bringing back, he says he will bin it here - he hates binning anything incase we may need it later even though we haven't used it in 20 years. Now our current house is chock-a-block with junk downstairs, I banned him from adding junk upstairs and I cleared upstairs.

All so hectic at the moment - I still have change of address letters to do but hopefully will all go through this week, at least exchange but its always tomorrow, still its gone from always next week to always tomorrow. I think its DH's twin, everything will always be finished tomorrow / next week and always 'almost nothing to do which can be done in 5 minutes' Grin

Taswama · 03/02/2021 22:08

I went for a walk along the canal and went down an alleyway I have never been down before. I was a bit confused when I reached the other end, but managed to work out where I was.

halfpasteleven · 03/02/2021 22:23

A large bar of aero fell into my basket while shopping yesterday.
Totally essential, all that bubbly sweetness.

Silkiechickscat · 03/02/2021 22:24

DS agreed to a bath Shock so is now in the bath and will emerge in a Pudsey onesie. It's a new ladies small one so it maybe far too big but we will see.

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 03/02/2021 22:32

@Frownette well done. You deserve lovely things now. 🍰🍷

@Champagneforeveryone rage ironing, actually rage anything is good for me. I have a very short fire 🔥 temper so I do a lot of restraint to keep it in check so rage cleaning is a biggie here. It's amazing how productive rage can be.

I've spent the last few days in bed, bloody migraine, I have a type called Hemiplegic which has wiped out my left side of my body over the past few days so thats my dull news.

HelenaJustina · 04/02/2021 06:33

All the talk of essential cake meant I ended up making a light fruit cake one quite late last night, despite needing to borrow eggs from our next door neighbour (who is a relative in our support bubble) to do so. The kitchen still smells lovely this morning.

I love a bit of rage for getting things done, it can be such a productive emotion!

Silkiechickscat · 04/02/2021 06:45

DH has just got up and is on cat cuddle and feed duty and said he's making me a cup of tea Grin

Hopefully we will exchange today. Got a huge list of things to get through today - DH is working, I'm home schooling DS all day, then got to clear things from boot, go down to old house, do a real final clear and bring things back, change of address letters, shutting down bills if exchange and taking meter readings, and getting parking permits for our buyers.

Tomorrow in theory is completion and similar but will be great if goes through to at least exchange. DS yesterday was saying he is only doing lessons which will help with his career aim of being prime minister of the United States. Hmm

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 04/02/2021 06:54

@NotanotherboxofFrogs
I am sorry! Migraines are awfull and your kind especially.Flowers

Mine are fairly low level usually and linked to the weather and work.
I log them onto a medical app for data collection.

Champagneforeveryone · 04/02/2021 07:09

Apparently there's no hot water. So that's a good start to the day Hmm

Silkiechickscat · 04/02/2021 08:21

We have run out of tea bags so having a very milky coffee.

sueelleker · 04/02/2021 09:06

Going to the vets this morning to pick up a new supply of flea treatment for the dogs. (We get it free as part of the Healthy Pets scheme) I may do some shopping on the way back.

Silkiechickscat · 04/02/2021 09:15

DS just walked past in his ladies pudsey onesie - he looks cute in it but a very young 14.

Nydj · 04/02/2021 11:35

@NotanotherboxofFrogs, I am sorry you have been laid low with migraine.
@Frownette, I’m glad the person you were helping is out of prison but what an ordeal and, by the sounds of it, completely unnecessary.
@Spudlet I hope you have recovered from the trauma of driving around the dentist.
@Silkiechickscat, the onesie sounds very cute and especially so with your DS wearing it. Good luck with the final stages of the house sale - I hope the clearing of old house is finally finished and that you make progress in the exchange today.
@MissConductUS the snow looks amazing but such a lot of work for you to clear access to your home.
I am working from home as usual with radio 4 in the background but have a MS Teams call at midday which may make me miss The Thursday Murder club - I have read the book but am enjoying it on R4

soddingkitten · 04/02/2021 11:38

The toilet roll holders at work have new patterned and textured loo roll. It is telling that I consider this newsworthy.

I passed workmen pumping clean water from a hydrant on to the street on my way to work and stopped for a paddle to get the mud off my boots. Smile
