Simba, Emma, Eve ...? Which mattress?

Looking at all these adverts you see, all claiming to be the best.

Do you have one, do you recommend?

Anyone done the 100 nights then sent it back? How TF does that work? Is it hassle free?

Thanks Smile

Sorry can't help, thought this was a baby name thread and clicked to find out who on earth was contemplating calling their baby girl Simba. Grin

I have a Simba, had it for around 3 years and still love it.
My only issue is that for the first few days it had an odd smell (assume from the manufacturing chemicals), since then it’s been perfect and I would get the same again.

Daisychainsandglitter · 24/01/2021 21:18

I have an Emma. To be honest it's too soft for me and I wouldn't get another one.
For the first week it also has a really terrible smell.
Next time (hopefully post covid) I will go in store to try out a mattress that suits me best.

We bought a Simba for my daughter but after about3 months sent it back with no hassle and now have an Emma which she says is softer

LabiaMinoraPissusFlapus · 24/01/2021 21:20

I really really like our Emma mattress. Had it for about 6 months or so now.

StanfordPines · 24/01/2021 21:22

We had an Eve. It was lovely for the first 4 years or so but it just went soggy after a while.

ILoveMyMonkey · 24/01/2021 21:24

We’ve got a Simba, love it. Agree about the odd smell in the beginning.

How did you send it back, did they send a courier for it?

What firmness do people rate the Simba at then?
I like med-firm so maybe Emma is too soft.

Had a simba - hated it, stupidly took longer than 100 days to decide I hated it, so palmed it off on DS and bought an old fashioned plain boring springy mattress.

It kind of sucked you in, so even turning over was really hard work!! And to be a bit indelicate, sex in certain positions didn’t work... because you sank into the mattress Blush

It was good for my slightly dodgy back though.

elenaf · 24/01/2021 21:29

We had to send an Emma mattress back. I've never been fussy about mattresses, and had a cheap foam mattress before. However this one gave us both hip pain, and we found it so hard, even with the extra soft layer that they send for free if you request it. I was really surprised so many people seem to find it comfortable. The customer service was amazing, and returning it was surprisingly easy. (Although this was January 2020, before COVID.)

Grin well I'm not celibate so all recommendations gratefully received!

We’ve had an Emma for a couple of years and I really like it. Very comfortable and I’d say medium but definitely not soft.

Soggy or saggy? 👀
poppyzbrite4 · 24/01/2021 21:33

I have an Otty hybrid. Seems comfortable so far. Had it about six weeks and no complaints.

CP26 · 24/01/2021 21:35

I have an Eve, pretty happy with it.

minniemoll · 24/01/2021 21:36

I've had an Otty for about three years, it's very comfortable and doesn't seem to have sagged. My hips hurt in the morning on standard sprung mattresses (I sleep on my side) but not on this one.

SoberCurious78 · 24/01/2021 21:37

Tempur mattress, had ours for couple of years and is fab

jackstini · 24/01/2021 21:40

Plonque · 24/01/2021 21:42

This won't appeal to everyone but all of the above sell their returned mattresses one they've been reconditioned (re-covered and treated under UV light usually) at a greatly reduced price, I got my Otty for half price, it had been slept on for less than 30 nights and then returned, I'm happy to sleep on a hotel mattress which will have been slept on for a lot longer than that by randoms so I didn't have a problem with it. It's better for the environment too.

Good to know, thanks!
