Have you ever received a M&S flower delivery? 🌺

Thinking of sending some to my Mum.
What were they like? Beautiful and fresh or dead and wilting?
Mixed reviews online.
Any particular bouquets that were a success?
Are there any you would avoid?

They’re nice but come in a big cardboard box and are a bit of a pain to release. Depending on how old/agile your mum is, she might struggle. Mine would have.

Of course, if your mum is 60 and runs marathons, crack on!

I ordered my elderly mum a basket of plants from M&S, so she wouldn’t have to worry about, cutting stems, lifting a vase (heavy with water & flowers in). And of course lasts longer than a bouquet. She was absolutely thrilled with her gift.

I also ordered my cousins a spring bouquet from M&S and she was really pleased with them, I ordered the one for fragrance.

All delivered on time & tracked.

I use them to send flowers to mil and she always says they are amazing and last ages. I once got the her rose plant (I think it's called Mum in a Million) and she planted it in the garden and it's honestly huge and gorgeous now!

I’ve sent M&S flowers in the past and latterly had a couple of disappointments in both the quality and the make up of the bouquet. I find Next more reliable now

I would get ones 25 pounds and up though. They’re also smaller than they look.

Yes, and based on that I have sent them to a couple of people. The recipients were delighted. I would recommend. I would also recommend Bloom and Wild.

I received them a few times over the years, although not for the last 3 or 4 and they have always been very good.
I've also been impressed with Next.
Waitrose were rubbish.

Good experiences except on key dates like Mother’s Day / Christmas when have always been awful, although complaints generally act upon and flowers replaced. Have also had good experiences with Next.

Yes, white roses. They lasted a month with conditioning every two days (cutting stems diagonally, changing water).

I was very impressed.

I had a couple of rose plants in a basket for a birthday. One was ok; one turned its toes up within days.

I've unpacked one from M&S, there isn't a card in the box with the flowers, the details of the sender are on the reverse of the address label. If she tips the packaging straight in the bin then she won't know who they are from. It was a huge box, the flowers were well packed.

I don’t want letter box ones unfortunately! A big box with a beautifully arranged bouquet is what I want to send.
I’ve used local florists in the past but they used so many cheap horrible filler flowers.
Also very expensive.
I tried specifying the flowers I wanted using the content list for an M&S bouquet and was quoted £86!!!

Worth seeing if there is a local florist near to your mum whom you can use. When I've not been able to visit mum on Mother's Day I have ordered from her local florist.

Unfortunately a lot of local florists are closed. I reckon this pandemic has been good for online flower delivery companies like Bloom and Wild and M & S.

I always use M&S flowers and have always been happy. The one time I had an issue they immediately refunded me and sent my DM a new bouquet.

They are nice but as others have said, a bit faffy.

I was sent some by my in laws when I was poorly last year and with all the various packaging, cardboard, sellophane, elastic bands and then bloody rose thorns I found it a bit of a an ordeal cutting the stems and arranging them (across 2 vases as there were so many). They were beautiful and lasted over a week but someone has to be up for investing a bit of time and effort on the receiving end (and if unwell, probably don’t assume that!), so Bloom and Wild is better and more convenient IMHO.

They are fine. The first bouquet I received was one in a metal jug. The jug had banged around deheading the flowers so I avoid anything in a container now. Others I have sent/recieved have been fine.

NB after I complained about the dodgy bouquet, they sent me a free replacement huge bouquet consisitng of my choice of flowers (roses and freesias) so it was all good.

How do the bloom and wild bouquets arrive? Are they all in a flat box (rather than pre-arranged). I’m hoping for a bouquet she can just lift out of the box.

Bloom and Wild are lovely, but they are delivered in bud. It means they last longer but don’t look quite as impressive when first delivered. You also have to arrange them yourself which may or may not be a positive (there’s a guide to doing it in with the flowers).

Bloom and Wild also do arranged bouquets, but the choice is limited.

I received M&S flowers this week (Wednesday)

They were the white Tulips / Roses. They looked beautiful on the day of delivery but three days later the roses were quite tired despite the fact that I conditioned them when they arrived.

I also had Bloom and Wild flowers which are now dying. This is the third lot of B&W I have received in the last couple of years. I don’t rate them at all.

Finally my DD sent me flowers from this company (it was a big birthday)
