Do you have a favourite gemstone or crystal ?

In no particular order of preference, I like rubies, sapphires and amethysts. These three, in their deepest but still transparent shades of red, blue and purple are a sight to behold and probably quite nice to own too. Diamonds are, obviously, expensive but being frequently colourless (not always), I find them less pleasing to the eye. Emeralds I can take or leave, depending on whether or not I like the shade of green.

Opals and tanzanite

I've not heard of tanzanite. I expect it's found in Africa, with that name. Opals were one of my Mum's favourites, along with diamonds. Actually, I think she was quite easily pleased where jewels were concerned.

I think you'd like tanzanite OP, if you like the deep coloured stones. I prefer paler ones myself. Aquamarine is probably my favourite. I do love diamonds because they're so firey, I love all the different colours. I love gems.

My favourites are Topaz (blue ones) and Peridot. I like diamonds too.

Navy sapphires, opal, labradorite, moonstone.

Rose quartz

I have a birthday soon and have a stacking ring being made with Labradorite, Rose quartz and white sapphire.

Blue sapphires, amethyst and for a sparkly clear stone I prefer moissanite over diamond

I'm mad for opals but find it hard to get decent/nice jewellery

I love moonstones, also quite fond of diamonds and bright sapphires. Can't stand rubies, but I have a soft spot for amethysts, as some can be found 'in the wild' locally :)

I've looked up tanzanite. Very appealing.

I like amethysts most, the more deep purple the better, but I won't say no to diamonds and most other shiny, sparkly things!

I like opals, moonstone, star/cats eye minerals especially cats eye chrysoberyl, padparadscha sapphire (peach colour) and for fire, titanite/sphene the sun yellow colour, not the greenish variety.

Created: Goldstone/aventurine glass (made with glass and mineral filings), probably the blue variant - it reminds me of looking at a clear night sky.

In general, I prefer created stones/crystals over natural ones.

I like garnets, ametrine, tanzanite and peridot. Shiny!

Sapphires are my favourite. My engagement ring is a sapphire with 2 small diamonds on either side and I love it.

Also love rubies and emeralds. I’d never heard of citrine until my Mil bought me a lovely citrine necklace and the colour is beautiful.
