This morning I went on a run with my friend as I have taken the day off work (need to have a day off for my sanity so used annual leave)

It was lovely, we're doing a 5km a few times a week and it was a fast one today and I felt strong! I've been buzzing all day.

No I am enjoying a child free house (kids are at school as it's their dads week) and I am watching the great British pottery throw down which is just full of joy!

Come and tell me what has bought you joy today

Seeing ds7, a reluctant reader, reading for pleasure of his own volition.

Dp not taking a job that would make our lives much much more stressful (which is probably a bit selfish but it potentially could have also meant a second house move in as many years and I am just not down for that again so soon. It would also have meant moving ds school when he is thriving where he is).

My boss regigging the rota so I don't loose pay because of having to self isolate. There is an awful lot to be said about decent management, she is new, old boss was a knob. She makes a world of difference.

The really nice scrambled eggs I made for breakfast.

My student loan has finally been cancelled!!!Grin

Bourbonbiccy · 20/01/2021 18:05

Spending a full day with my amazing little boy (rather than him being in preschool for the morning )
Loads of snuggles and fun. 💝💝

BillywigSting · 20/01/2021 18:05

Also the inauguration, a definite feeling of 'thank fuck that's over'!

SedentaryCat · 20/01/2021 18:07

Watching Joe Biden's inauguration.

Cheerio Trump. You big baby.

Mominatrix · 20/01/2021 18:08

As above.

Tears of relief shed in this house.

Shmithecat2 · 20/01/2021 18:08

A log delivery, all stacked nicely and my dinner (pie & liquor from Arments in SE London).

AethelsWhiteGoose · 20/01/2021 18:10

Kamala Harris! Plus an impromptu hug from my ds Smile

devildeepbluesea · 20/01/2021 18:12

The inauguration.

My 18 year old dog, just for still being here. He got the geriatric zoomies when I got home from shopping just now, it's so lovely to watch.

My couch to 5k run with 7yr old DD. She's not really very sporty and has put on a few pound since not being able to run around with her mates, and was really reluctant at the start. She's now into week 5 and getting fitter and faster every time! Sickening how easy it is when you're young 😂

My shopping trip to Lidl. I bloody love Lidl. I've set a spending limit of £100 to include all food, fuel and extras for the foreseeable future and I'm loving how little I'm spending.

Scarby9 · 20/01/2021 18:13

A colleague's 5 year old so excited to wave to us all when he got back from school. It had been a long difficult day on Zoom and we were all really at the end, then there was this smiley little person so pleased to see us and to wave. Everyone waving back madly and the meeting ended on a high.

notalwaysalondoner · 20/01/2021 18:14

I had a normal healthy baby at my 12 week scan (actually nearly 14 weeks) after two miscarriages in 2020!!!

I got a good performance review at work after an issue last summer which really destroyed my confidence.

We can finally move out of my parents and properly into our new house as we had the last essential work done today so it is habitable!

Great day!

pheonixrebirth · 20/01/2021 18:19

MrsJonesAndMe · 20/01/2021 18:20

Ah @ValpolicellaPrimitivo that is so lovely.

DS has worked so well on his homeschooling today. (It can be a battle at times)

BackToWhereItAllBegan · 20/01/2021 18:22

I live in America, this whole day has brought me joy!

AdoraBell · 20/01/2021 18:24

Watching Joe Biden and Kamala Harris being sworn in, and Mike Pence doing the right thing and handy over to the new President and Vice President.

RedLimoncello · 20/01/2021 18:27

@ValpolicellaPrimitivo 😭 Beautiful.

For me it was collecting eggs from our chickens with my lovely 4 year old little ray of sunshine and setting up a domino course with my 6 year old- so great to see her problem solving and getting all enthusiastic😊

Sunflower101 · 20/01/2021 18:41

I bought some tightly closed daffodils at the supermarket last night, put them in water. This morning many of them came in bloom and look wonderful. Spring is on its way!

12frogsincoats · 20/01/2021 18:49

The cat's new bumble bee jumper arrived. She looks adorable.

peaceanddove · 20/01/2021 18:52

Have just booked 10 days in the Italian Lakes in July. Just us and our best friends. No kids. Just total hedonistic relaxation. I cannot tell you how excited I am to have something to look forward to.

MacDuffsMuff · 20/01/2021 18:53

Made choc chip cookies with a biscoff centre and ate them warm with ice cream. It was like a warm biscuitty hug!

bjjgirl · 20/01/2021 18:55

@ValpolicellaPrimitivo

My son is 4.5 and has a speech and language delay, he's come on so much since starting at a specialist school in September. He's been doing the theme of space at school and seems to captured his imagination. He asked for some books about space and they arrived today. He said 'I love you mummy' as he opened them, the first time he's said that to me.
That is beautiful

You can’t drop a bomb like that and not post a picture.
