What have you got planned for this weekend coming?

I am sooooo bored of trying to find stuff to do at the weekend. I'd happily watch TV and do nothing else but I know that, come Sunday night, I'd feel I should have tried to do more. The thing is at the moment, 'more' is usually chores. And I don't want to do chores at the weekend, not when I work 60 hours a week Monday - Friday and am on 'stand by' at weekends if a client gets in touch. I've also had enough of Zoom calls with friends and family - I'm on Zoom calls 75% of my work time. I want a break from my computer when I'm not working.

So I'm looking for ideas. What are you guys up to this coming weekend? Anything inspiring for me to blatantly copy? Thank you!

It's my birthday Monday so the diet is being binned and we have ordered an afternoon tea to be delivered Sunday. Saturday will be ours and elderly grandparents food shop. Birh have had Pfizer vaccine double dose so risk a 5 minute cup of tea when I drop off which is the highlight of both our weeks. Saturday afternoon a walk. Sunday morning cleaning and the DP will go for a jog. Exciting times January birthdays are shit at the best of times.

Painting my ensuite bathroom. I've done all the skirting boards and woodwork so just the walls to do.
Walks on the beach with the kids and the dog - maybe takeaway bacon sandwiches tomorrow.
Facetime chat with some friends on Saturday night.
Thats about it!

Labobo · 29/01/2021 17:08

Tonight: film night with DC and fish and chips as DC begged for them.
Tomorrow: Bootcamp and work, then DS2 is cooking dinner with a surprise entertainment...
Sunday - socially distanced walk with friend

RhinestoneCowgirl · 29/01/2021 17:11

I'll be doing my Saturday morning Pilates class on zoom, then I promised DS(14) that we'd have a go at making veggie sushi with the kit he got for Christmas.

Iseeyoulookingatme · 29/01/2021 17:21

Me and ds are making a minecraft cake as he has been badgering me for a while. We are having a Mexican themed night on Saturday which means we are having tacos and fajitas and a few Mexican decorations and music. On Sunday I'm going to start stripping the walls in my bedroom ready to start painting next week. I've got a busy weekend ahead of me.

Meant to be taking my horse out for a nice long ride tomorrow but it looks incredibly windy and she is incredibly sharp and spooky, So I’m not sure if that is a good idea.

Sunday; long run and then sit around and eat and drink beer with DP

RSPB garden bird watch.

And the squirrels have destroyed one of our feeders...

lachy · 29/01/2021 17:45

Tonight: DD and I are snuggling up with Pizza, Harry Potter and Popcorn

Tomorrow: Taking DD on a walk to deliver a birthday card, then sorting out her bedroom

Sunday: Unpacking boxes and trying to get our house sorted!

Sn0tnose · 29/01/2021 17:52

Saturday - out early to the butchers, the post office and the supermarket, then some jobs around the house, a trip to the tip and then a soak in the tub, followed by a Boston rib eye steak, chips, garlic mushrooms and corn on the cob and a good film.

Sunday is forecast to be miserable, so some old black and white films and a board game probably. I might do some sewing.

Yet another walk.

notsosmoothie · 29/01/2021 18:00

Early swim at the beach tomorrow morning, dog walk, and then a couple of hours of work.

I'll put a chicken soup on to simmer, and then I'm going to sit down at my wheel and do some throwing – might binge-listen to a podcast while I do.

I need to clean out the flowerbeds a bit – they're rammed with wildflowers but it's getting a bit TOO chaotic in there right now – and then I'll probably lie in the garden with a book.

Sunday I'll force myself to sit in front of the piano and tackle the practice I've been avoiding.

dementedma · 29/01/2021 18:04

Nothing as usual

Kndg · 29/01/2021 18:09

Tonight is steak and chips for DH and I, ordering pizza in for DC, then a film or two.

Tomorrow we're tackling the gardens if it's not raining. If it's wet then we're doing the garage, we think we have a field mouse in there as I found a load of seed casings next to the wall.
Then take the dogs out for a few hours.

Sunday I'm planning on relaxing, having a nice roast beef lunch with all the trimmings. Since lockdown I've been cooking a proper Sunday roast each week.

speakout · 29/01/2021 18:18

Working.

I have had a few days off this week, so will be working over Sat Sunday.

PilatesPeach · 29/01/2021 18:19

I replied to a similar thread on chat but am meeting up on Sunday for a walk with my first love from college, I was 16 and he was 17. Randomly I saw him on Match earlier this week & messaged him just to say hi. Not sure it is a date but we are both single. Will be nice to catch up as well as exciting as it was 30 years ago! I am of course doing boring laundry, housework and some zoom fitness classes.

KnotKnot · 29/01/2021 18:26

Fri: Taking a break from work now, then a bit more to do, then drive home. DH will have some takeaway ordered, and a bottle of wine, listen to music, and bed (it's scheduled!)

Sat: Have to work, but can do it from home. When I finish I'll go for a run with DD. Do some shopping. Dinner. Some Netflix and bed ((it's scheduled! again!)

Sun: Lie in, papers, reading, nothing much. Might go for a walk with DH, depends on the weather. Early night because the madness starts at work again on Monday :)

ShinyGreenElephant · 29/01/2021 18:31

Tomorrow DD2 has ballet on zoom, then I'll take her to the park while DD11 has her zoom dance classes. Once little DD is asleep me and DD11 will probably carry on with the scrapbook weve been making, or possibly play a game. In the afternoon when DH gets in from work were hoping to go to the beach for a couple of hours - DD11 usually meets a friend in the afternoon for a walk and a Starbucks or she might come with us. Then home for a takeaway and family movie night.

Sunday morning I usually laze around, let the baby wreck the place and DH and DD11 sleep in, then in the afternoon DD goes to her dads for a couple of hours and DH will take DD2 out while I do a bit of cleaning in peace and make a roast. When DD gets in we have a little catch up hour on our own then we get all her stuff ready for Monday morning home learning so there's no stress in the morning and early nights all round. Boring as fuck but in my defence I'm heavily pregnant, weekdays are chaos and exhausting so its the best I can manage at the moment!

Aposterhasnoname · 29/01/2021 18:55

I’m babysitting DGS (in a bubble as he’s under one) whilst DD goes for her vaccine, then I expect we’ll sit and watch breaking bad all weekend as DH has hurt his foot and can’t walk.

mamaduckbone · 30/01/2021 13:49

I've done a Pilates class and cleaned the fridge out this morning, had a late breakfast with Dh and read the papers for a bit, done an hour's work. The weather is rubbish so not sure about the rest of the day. Bored bored bored!

CottonSock · 30/01/2021 13:54

Like you op, trying to fill the time without getting fatter. I have so many ideas around high calorie food.

Pinksmyfavoritecolour · 31/01/2021 12:31

Yesterday was long walk with dogs, a trip to local garden centre for pots compost and seeds, housework and watching catch up tv in evening. Today has been long walk with dogs, prepared a casserole, done rspb birdwatching, now to do lots of ironing, some baking for weeks lunchboxes, then later a zoom meeting with friends, before more catch up tv.
