A lot of mumsnetters post details of houses they like or dislike. Has your home ever been discussed.

Never, 100%. It’s very ordinary house.

laughoutquiet · 18/01/2021 22:03

No but I wish it was! Maybe some one would buy it then Grin

DrinkRefilled · 18/01/2021 22:04

Yes, my 3.5 million pound castle is always on here.
I’m typing this from the west tower as we speak.

LittleRa · 18/01/2021 22:09

Not mine, but one just a few streets away that I had seen up for sale myself, the poster didn’t know the area at all and was amazed at what you could get for your money (they were moving up north from down south) and were asking for opinions about the area. I didn’t dare reply as so close to home but I watched with interest the replies from other people who knew the area.

GiantKitten · 18/01/2021 22:09

No, but I once posted images of someone else’s house on my FB because I was amused by some of the staging, and was asked by a friend of my DD’s to take it down because it was being sold by a couple she knew who had broken up Sad

That was awkward.

WhereDoesThisToiletGo · 18/01/2021 22:15

No, but a house we used to own was on Escape to the County about 15 years after we sold it.
I was very pissed off when the presenter said "it was in a bit of a state when the current owner bought it before they made it into the beautiful house it is now"

Harsh. But true.

Ouch!!
LizFlowers · 18/01/2021 22:22

I don't think anyone would be interested in my very ordinary house - which is not currently for sale anyway.

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 18/01/2021 22:25

@DrinkRefilled

Yes I've seen that. Can I suggest you put the toilet seat down in the bathroom suite in the Keep, move the trampolines from the battlements, and remove the large inflatable flamingos from the swimming moat.
I think these tips may improve the sales potential.

chuffedasbuttons · 18/01/2021 22:48

Is the sculpture arty house yours OP?

Love it!

HowLongTo2022 · 18/01/2021 22:58

No but our house was also on escape to the country... it was the mystery house. The people being shown round clearly hated it...we’re glad they did - otherwise it wouldn’t have been available for us to buy!

ifeelfantastic · 18/01/2021 23:07

No but speaking of property porn I've got my eye on this bad boy with home cinema

No chuffedasbuttons. We are settled where we are. Just curious as like others I enjoy looking at property around the country.

My current house could be featured... as the worst buy ever!
Condensation problems that is making carport, damp patches everywhere.
I know the previous owner died here... of damp?
It’s a grim 1970s never-been-redecorated since created shithole.
I thought I could gain affection for it because it doesn’t have stairs (so my disabled DD wouldn’t have to be carried upstairs, we can create a ramp for her wheelchair if she needs one) blah blah.
It’s seriously like something from a horror film.
Except for all the newer buildings overlooking it so I can’t even scratch my fanny in peace

Krazynights34 · 18/01/2021 23:41

Carpet, not carport - I’ve never typed that word before... I mean wtf?

Unsuremover · 18/01/2021 23:47

I check every house or garden thread out of fear of seeing my house. There was one where I was convinced was about the state of out garden after DS was rushed into hospital abs spent weeks in HDU and I was giving keys to anyone to let the poor dog out as often as possible. Garden was like something out of a channel 5 documentary by the time we got home and facing forward. Anyway it wasn’t but the fear has never left me.

Ultimate goal is to have my house featured for positive reasons obviously.

YouokHun · 19/01/2021 00:02

Not on here but my childhood home featured in Location Location Location. It was a bit sad really as the original features had been ripped out at some point and someone had done a minimalist job on it. Soulless good taste. The saddest bit was that my parents stretched themselves and bought it for about £5,000 in 1970 and here it was on TV for £950k Shock.

You must be a long way from here, couldn't get a castle for that price.

Sadly, I am not in one of the houses that are that price, just one road away from them.

I would raise the drawbridge if I were you.

Leeds2 · 19/01/2021 00:11

My house has never featured! But I have often wondered if anyone has recognised their home on here.
Also wondered if being featured on here has led to a sale. Estate agents must wonder what the hell is going on if they are able to monitor the number of clicks a property gets. I click on all of them, even though I have no intention of buying a new home and even in areas I know nothing about!

Bythemillpond · 19/01/2021 00:15

ifeelfantastic sold in 2016 for £675000 and has been completely redone.
Amazing house till you realise it is just in a cul de sac

ZaraCarmichaelshighheels · 19/01/2021 00:19

I often wonder if people post friends or relatives houses just so they can have a bitch fest!

@ifeelfantastic
This is what it was like when current sellers (presumably) bought it in 2016 for £675k.
Perfectly nice house!
They’ve ruined it IMO Sad

Wow ..that lovely garden , gone .

SimonJT · 19/01/2021 13:43

No, but my last flat/building was on homes under the hammer, they changed it from three flats to six tiny studio flats.
