Those ‘penis rings’ - they are anti-masturbation devices. The penis is ...ehem....placed inside the smaller inside ring, should the recalcitrant member enlarge it will then come into contact with the sharp points on the outer ring and the rest is up to your imagination. Seen them on QI.
The Uterine Hook however has a very unpleasant purpose where there has been an impacted birth.
