Why is your child mad at you today?

Sideorderofchips · 17/01/2021 12:09

Mine is because I've given him crumpets for lunch instead of sweets 🙄

Anyone else got a child who is apparently mad at them today?

I asked him to put some boxers on, this makes me the worst mum in the world.

BoogleMcGroogle · 17/01/2021 12:17

He needs to clean his room. It hasn’t been hoovered since starting a particularly floor-covering Lego project before Christmas. I drafted in grandma to persuade him over Zoom. She explained he doesn’t have to do it, but it would be nice if he did. So he’s decided not to. Cheers grandma 😆

Sideorderofchips · 17/01/2021 12:19

Ah yes the tidying of the room. Middle chips is currently protesting about her task to do that at the moment too

Because I'd quite like to paint my nails and read the news while the baby is asleep and before I take them both out for exercise this afternoon.

badlydrawnbear · 17/01/2021 12:21

She has to do homework. Personally, I also disagree with homework for the weekend when all the school work has been at home, but she does need the practice.

LaBellina · 17/01/2021 12:22

For not letting him take his plate with his dinner so he can throw it on the kitchen floor.

For daring to go for a pee and leaving him in the living room whilst I quickly go to the toilet.

For not allowing him to shout in the street.

Totally prepared to get flamed here for being such an intolerant mother.

Scotlass · 17/01/2021 12:23

Mine because I've told him we're going out for a walk this afternoon- he's been on electronics morning and apparently I'm a bad mum for not allowing him to be on it all day (he's 11yrs old)

badlydrawnbear · 17/01/2021 12:24

Also, because I won’t let her eat soup in the living room but instead insist that soup is eaten at the table.
DC2 isn’t mad at me. Yesterday she gave me a tiny wooden butterfly because I am a good teacher. DC1 thinks I am a terrible teacher.

CoodleMoodle · 17/01/2021 12:28

DD6: for asking her to finish her maths work yesterday. She only had one task left to do and did eventually do it, and now has a completely free day to do whatever she wants! But yesterday it was the end of the world.

DS2: for opening a packet of crisps next to him when he's trying to watch Peppa (wail of "I CAN'T HEAR IT!!!"). But he was happy enough to share said crisps once the awful noise had gone away! His munching of the crisps is probably louder than my opening the packet...

Pinkflipflop85 · 17/01/2021 12:30

Big flipflop is apparently mad at me for merely existing.

Little flipflop seems to be ok with my existence though so it evens out 🤣

Summerstorms · 17/01/2021 12:31

Because Stuart the Minion's trousers wont fit on her head as a hat

Sideorderofchips · 17/01/2021 12:33

Ah chipstheeldest has gone to meet her friends (we are not in the UK but a channel island) so I am saved her wrath as at 14 she either thinks I'm the best mum ever or the worst mum ever depending on what I've said no to

Yes that is totally and utterly down to you... You must make them fit! 😂

I'm always in trouble with my daughter. She's autistic, so very particular with her routine. Today I slept in by 15 minutes! How dare I lol

Not long ago she was furious with me for misgendering a swan.

Left a flannel in the bath, cooked onions without warning her, didn't fully concentrate on the you tube video she was showing me, had small talk with a neighbour, put the wrong sheets on her bed......it's exhausting lol

Camomila · 17/01/2021 12:34

For being in the kitchen cooking his lunch rather than in the living room cuddling him.

CthulhuInDisguise · 17/01/2021 12:35

Mine is an adult child but got the hump with me when I referred to my late DH (jokingly) as an arsehole for passing on cold sores to me as a permanent reminder of him (I think I called it intermittent stress branding) because I only get them when stressed, and DH passed the virus to me on his deathbed. DS told me I was being unfair and his dad hadn't known what he was doing. I know this. I'm not a monster, was just having a lighthearted whinge Hmm

OrangeGinLemonFanta · 17/01/2021 12:37

With the 3yo, its not so much why he is mad at me today as why is he mad at me in any particular moment. Just now - because I can't find a toy fairy. Said fairy is about 3 inches high, ought to be outside and could be absolutely anywhere.

Misty9 · 17/01/2021 12:39

Ds, 9, hates me today because I won't let him have any more screentime beyond the 2hrs he's had. Tbh, he acts like he hates me most of the time, indifferent at best, but still expects me to service every need. It's wearing Sad

EventOfTheSeason · 17/01/2021 12:39

I wouldn't give her a pop tart for breakfast.

Doilooklikeatourist · 17/01/2021 12:40

We have a surveyor in the house ( selling up )
She's mad as hell because we should know there's a global pandemic killing everyone
She's 23

I have a 16yo autistic son. I feel your pain!

Today I used a new cleaning product and it smells different!

I have said he's more than welcome to re clean with another one if he wants - he declined Grin

Kapalika · 17/01/2021 12:47

10 year old boy. He gets mad, so I correct him. No, you’re angry. He’s very Americanised. Gas stations, candy etc. It’s actually quite funny correcting him.

SlipperTripper · 17/01/2021 12:54

DH made her a sausage sandwich. As of this morning, apparently, one doesn't eat sausage sandwiches. Much slamming of doors and screaming.

She's 15, not 5. Not that you'd believe it.

Frodont · 17/01/2021 12:56

My 21 year old is cross because there's "nothing for breakfast". We've run out of sliced bread and spreadable butter. There is cereal, eggs, bacon, avocado, pancake mix, maple syrup, waffle making stuff, sausages and tomatoes.

Hmm
LunaNorth · 17/01/2021 13:00

Because I’m not vegan.

I buy vegan food, I cook vegan food for him sometimes, I fully support him.

But he feels ‘alienated’ apparently.

So, yeah.
