Why is your child mad at you today?

Mine is because I've given him crumpets for lunch instead of sweets 🙄

Anyone else got a child who is apparently mad at them today?

No grapes left

Two year old just threw a screaming tantrum because I finally had enough of her two giant birthday balloons floating in my living room (her birthday was the 27th December) so finally got rid of them.

Changemaname1 · 17/01/2021 15:01

I made them walk. Outside. The horror

Today , nothing , well actually there is probably something but they are at their DF so I don't know about it. I'm sure they will let me know any transgressions later.

Yesterday though I made ds2 change his pants and stood over him while he did it ,on the grounds that twice last week when given his clothes to dress he refused to change his pants and hid the clean ones so DP and I only realised later in the day.

On those grounds he now has to change pants when I'm there and I am very unreasonable for that. I pointed out I'd accidentally washed two pairs of clean pants without realising so he was unreasonable too (as you can see I was a perfect grownup arguing with a 5 year oldHmm).

Oh and I made him eat vegetables when don't I know he doesn't like them.

DS1 took the opportunity during these incidents to loudly remind me of how good he was being in order to passively aggressively stick it to his brother.

I really should start drinking.

TwoHundredThousandTimes · 17/01/2021 15:13

Neither of mine are annoyed with me right now.

I made DS1 happy because I bought him some strobe lights and helped him turn my study the spare room into his gaming room.

Tomorrow he will probably get cross because today I bought him some strobe lights and helped him turn the spare room into his gaming room. Hmm

Eldest, middle and youngest and DH are all on thin ice after the almost constant tantrums and grumpiness that keeps coming my way. Today’s gems so far: The posh m&s sausage rolls were gross - unlike the own brand Tesco ones, Crinkle chips were too crinkled, I didn’t look hard enough in the Lego pile of doom and I suggested careful scooting on this morning’s walk - the horror!

@CthulhuInDisguise complete thread derail but buy Lysine from Holland and Barrett and take it religiously and you'll never get another cold sore!!! It's changed my life!

He was asked to brush his teeth

sanityisamyth · 17/01/2021 15:43

I've asked him to tidy his room. I frequently spend hours of my life rebuilding his Lego to check they're all complete and he's taken them all apart and spread them all over his floor. I've told him to tidy it or I'm putting it all in bin liners and it can go to a charity shop.

@blissfulllife my son has autism too. It’s been a bit of a challenging day with a lot of meltdowns. “Misgendered a swan” has made me properly splutter with laughter, so thanks!

FaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaBlah · 17/01/2021 15:48

I dared to stop my car at red lights. What a bitch!

clpsmum · 17/01/2021 15:55

I made mine put pants on and then I had the audacity to actually speak to him when he wasn't looking at me. I'm such a cow

UndyingDeathdefying · 17/01/2021 16:01

:)

blissfulllife · 17/01/2021 16:35

@FaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaBlah lol I'm glad it made you laugh. Mines currently having a meltdown because it's spiral pasta and not tubes for her tea today. Give me strength lol if we didn't laugh we'd cry so they say x

FaLaLaLaLaLaLaLaBlah · 17/01/2021 17:46

@blissfulllife YUP. Here too because we made pizza (a huge pizza about the size of a large dominos) and I suggested perhaps it should be shared with DH rather than just eaten entirely by him. He’s only 3 but to be fair I reckon he could probably pack away a whole pizza on his own....

Chocolatecake29 · 17/01/2021 17:48

My 18m/o, because she wanted her dressing gown off. Then had a tantrum because I took it off as she wanted it back on Confused

MaverickDanger · 17/01/2021 17:56

I changed his nappy.

At least I think that’s why he’s screaming. Can’t get a lot of sense out of a nearly three week old.
