I'm having a bit of a sad day, twisted my knee in the snow and feeling a bit lonely. I want to watch something really funny to cheer myself up. Please send your recommendations this way.

dumb and dumber

It's never rated much but I always laugh at Fierce Creatures - I think it's funnier than A Fish Called Wanda.

Police academy, or National Lampoons Christmas Vacation, just for the squirrel scene.

DisplayPurposesOnly · 14/01/2021 20:51

Top Secret

Airplane! "Surely you can't be serious?!" "Deadly serious. And don't call me Shirley." Grin

Hot shots / hot shots part Deux

Robin Hood Men in Tights always used to make me laugh loads, not seen it in years though.

Princess Bride

Dodgeball is very silly and makes me laugh

Justcashnosweets · 14/01/2021 20:56

Hot Fuzz
Pineapple Express
Withnail and I
Role Models

TFSRM · 14/01/2021 20:59

Beavis and Butthead Do America. Shouldn't be my thing at all but I was crying with laughter in the cinema and still find it funny even now.

jessym · 14/01/2021 21:01

Life of Brian. Sophisticated religious & political satire interspersed with crude knob gags. What’s not to laugh at?

This is Spinal Tap. Every single rock cliche lampooned in such hilariously deadpan style that it changed the way a musical genre was viewed.

ConfusedcomMum · 14/01/2021 21:01

White Chicks
Four Lions

SwankyPants · 14/01/2021 21:03

All Of Me with Steve Martin and Lily Tomlin. Just hilarious

Blahblah84 · 14/01/2021 21:03

I don't have one funniest of all time, but always seem to go back to a few good ones when I need cheering up:

Tropic Thunder
Stepbrothers
Old School
40 Year Old Virgin
Shaun of the Dead
Hot Fuzz

I recently watched I Give It A Year, a british comedy that was way funnier than I was expecting.

If you're looking for more uplifting rather than laugh out loud, then Eddie the Eagle is a lovely movie.

Hope you feel better.
