I'm having a bit of a sad day, twisted my knee in the snow and feeling a bit lonely. I want to watch something really funny to cheer myself up. Please send your recommendations this way.

Thanks everyone! I'm going to go for Planes, Trains and Automobiles. I expect great things Grin

Another vote for Planes Trains and Automobiles. Laugh-out-loud funny and heartwarming too.

Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Adventures In Babysitting
Ice Age

40 Year old Virgin

JMAngel1 · 14/01/2021 19:08

Bridesmaids - the wedding dress shop scene practically has me needing hospitalisation Grin

JMAngel1 · 14/01/2021 19:09

Oh God yes and 40 year old virgin - let's get some French toast.

PolloDePrimavera · 14/01/2021 19:09

Dirty Rotten Scoundrels with Michael Caine and Steve Martin.
The scene with the mantelpiece 😂

Toss up between Duck Soup and Some Like It Hot

The Naked Gun series, Anchorman, Johnny English.

SummerHouse · 14/01/2021 19:14

BBC series Ghosts is excellent.

isthismylifenow · 14/01/2021 19:14

A million ways to die in the west

shitinmyhandsandclap · 14/01/2021 19:16

Another vote for Hot Fuzz

PearlescentIridescent · 14/01/2021 19:16

Spinal Tap has objectively given me the most laugh out loud funny moments but I also really enjoy Napoleon Dynamite as a different kind of funny.

Mean Girls is my favourite film and is definitely funny but again, Spinal Tap is more full of actual gags which are hilarious. The part where they're giving the interview and talking about their old band mate makes me cry Grin

I also like some more slapstick things like Hot Rod, Anchor-man Zoolander and Step Brothers.

PearlescentIridescent · 14/01/2021 19:17

Omg yes Bridesmaids! Love that, and 40 Year Old Virgin and also Knocked up. Basically anything by Judd Apatow is decent. I'm not clued up on classic comedy though

GirlInterrupted · 14/01/2021 19:21

Kiddies movie, but I thought the Croods were brilliant!

BBCK · 14/01/2021 19:21

Spy with Melissa McCarthy
My cousin vinny

ISpeakJive · 14/01/2021 19:25

I agree with a lot of the above but I'm going to add:
Ace Ventura Pet Detective
In Bruge
The Hangover

GameSetMatch · 14/01/2021 19:25

It’s not really funny but Shirley Valentine always cheers me up!

S111n20 · 14/01/2021 19:26

Rough night is hilarious 😆

H1978 · 14/01/2021 19:27

I love the police academy series, so funny and excellent acting.

CoolCovidCat · 14/01/2021 19:27

Spinal Tap.

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 14/01/2021 19:30

Hot shots part Deux. Anything by the Zuckers really.

Clariana · 14/01/2021 19:32

The Princess Bride, can't believe no-one else said it yet

Squiffany · 14/01/2021 19:32

Deadpool

Aahotep · 14/01/2021 19:33

@clary
Yes yes to Some Like it Hot!
Daphne, you're leading again

ChocBeforeCock · 14/01/2021 19:39

I agree with Bridesmaids but I also love Mean Girls!

Blades of Glory always makes me chuckle too.
