I'm only on week 2 and I'm starting to really see that I'm making progress. I've already left it 2 days between runs (so last one was Monday) and I'm worried that if I wait until Saturday when I next have time I'll have lost some of the progress. Would you

a) go anyway and get soaking wet and have to wash hair properly before work, meaning that I might be late starting and will have to visit clients with wet hair
b) run on the spot indoors
C) try and fit in a run at lunchtime if it has stopped raining and I can finish my morning work in time (morning work is unpredictable, afternoon I have a fixed time I have to be somewhere)
d) write it off for today and hope I haven't become terribly unfit by Saturday

Go and get wet!

inquietant · 14/01/2021 07:22

I would do B

PepeLePew · 14/01/2021 07:23

Go and embrace the rain!

redcandlelight · 14/01/2021 07:23

go anyway.
rain is great when running - less chance if swallowing a bug Grin

good luck!

pontiouspilates · 14/01/2021 07:29

Go run. It's harder to get out in the rain, but actually really nice once you are out the door. You will feel badass for the rest of the day too!

Snufkinhastherightidea · 14/01/2021 07:31

Go and wear a hat.

devildeepbluesea · 14/01/2021 07:32

Go now! Running in the rain is lush

Somuddled · 14/01/2021 07:33

Running in the rain is the best kind of running!

NeilBuchananisBanksy · 14/01/2021 07:34

Difficult.

Try and plan ahead in the future though and check the weather. I usually go on a Thursday but saw that the weather wasn't going to be good so I went yesterday instead as it was nice. You can be a bit flexible with it, especially this time of year.

It's probably ok as a one off to leave it. Can you go tomorrow instead of sat?

KihoBebiluPute · 14/01/2021 07:34

I have finished and once you are running the whole time it's not that bad to run in the rain as you get so warm. However I think it would be different on week 2 as you are walking most of the time and don't heat up so much.

I think I would start work early to maximise the chances of (c) working out well.

Frouby · 14/01/2021 07:34

Go, wear a baseball cap to keep the rain off your face.

KihoBebiluPute · 14/01/2021 07:35

Sorry I typed "I have finished c25k" but my autoincorrect decided to delete the c25k for some reason.

I don't have many options for when I can run unfortunately, at least not while the days are so short. I usually have to be at work by 8.30 and don't get home until 6 at the earliest. Yesterday I was home earlier but had a work Teams meeting immediately followed by my Slimming World zoom meeting so couldn't go out then.

Starting early isn't possible unfortunately due to the nature of my job, I have to wait for my manager to assign the workload, plus people might not appreciate me turning up on their doorstep at the crack of dawn!

I've been waiting for it to get light enough

Go anyway and buy a hat for next time. I did c25k this time last year - if you run around weather and shifts youll just never get into it properly

EmmaGellerGreen · 14/01/2021 07:43

Go in the rain and embrace it. Running in the rain is fabulous.

WhydoesItAlwaysRainMe · 14/01/2021 07:44

a Grin

NatMoz · 14/01/2021 07:47

Buy a running light so you don't have to wait for it to get light! Therefore no excuses!

The only time I don't run is when it's snowed and the snow has compacted into treacherous ice! Otherwise nothing stops me!

DebbieFiderer · 14/01/2021 07:48

Thanks all, you've inspired me and I'm going!

I'd have left it for today, I'm on week 8 and in my experience you don't lose fitness if you leave it a bit longer. I had a week off over Xmas and it was fine going back to it.

Musicalmistress · 14/01/2021 07:52

Got for it! Love a rainy run 😁🌧

schmockdown · 14/01/2021 07:52

Go and get wer. We are a cap and invest in a waterproof running jacket for the future. I love running in the rain.

GinnieHempstock · 14/01/2021 07:55

Go. If you live in the uk and want to run regularly but are pushed for time, then you'll have to get used to running in the rain and the dark.
