Be honest... do you think being a size 10 is more attractive than a size 14?

Just that... no offence intended it's just to settle an argument I'm interested in people's views. Let's say specifically you have an average / reasonably attractive looking woman of average height, do you think she will look better as a size 10 than she does a 14?

Yes I do.

I'm afraid Kate moss was right- being skinny feels better than the taste of anything

AlexisCarringtonColbyDexter · 14/01/2021 09:35

Some women are size 10, and 'sooo slim,' but have a face like a bag of spanners

yeah, but even if your face is like a bag of spanners you'd STILL look better at size 10 than 14!!

Orf1abc · 14/01/2021 09:37

It depends on the individual. I'm a 10 at the moment and look pretty ill, as the weight always goes off my face.

Also remember that people have different ideas of what a size 10 is. My size 10 will be someone else's 6 or 8, others will claim to be a 14 but really be an 18. Sizes vary dramatically!

Itsokthanks · 14/01/2021 09:40

Yes. Currently size 14-16 after being an 8-10 the majority of my life and I definitely look and feel better slimmer.

Glitterb · 14/01/2021 09:44

I think it depends on your height and build really...

I am 5ft9 and I am happy at a 12/14. I have been a 10 before and I was underweight, starving myself daily and still thought I looked fat.

Stumpedasatree · 14/01/2021 09:45

Yes, without a doubt. These days at a size 10 BMI is usually within the normal range and so I do not think size 10 is excessively slim unless over average height.

cardswapping · 14/01/2021 09:49

In my opinion, for my height, 5ft5, yes.

acatcalledjohn · 14/01/2021 10:09

Generally yes, because for most people a size 10 would fall in a healthy weight range.

I appreciate that not every size 10 is healthy, but overall more size 10s will be healthy compared to size 14s. At 5'10" a size 14 puts me on the cusp of overweight.

Fairystory · 14/01/2021 10:19

It also depends on age. In my 30s I was a size 10 with a BMI of 18 to 19. If I got back to that weight now I would look awful. I'm currently size 14 with a BMI of 22 which is not fat. I look older if I lose any more weight.

Having an eating disorder is an extenuating circumstance so I think yours is an extreme example and not indicative of reality. Your mental health was the problem - if you thought you looked fat at a size 10, you would have thought the same back then at the size you are now. If you lost weight in a healthy way via balanced diet and exercise, you’d look better then if you lost weight via starvation at the same size.
LarryUnderwood · 14/01/2021 10:25

I've just started wearing size 14 after gaining weight in the last year. I'm 5'5" and weight about 158lbs, so overweight BMI, also waist to hip ratio not good etc. Previously I was a 12 bottom amd 12-14 top at around 140-150lbs. When I was a size 10 bottom, 10-12 top I weighed around 130-139 lbs. I definitely looked better as a size 10. I look matronly and middle aged now, at least my figure does.

THis thread makes for feel sadness for all the woman who rate attractiveness according to size!

Happiness, contentment and confidence in yourself is what makes you attractive not the size of your body!

For me I’ve been a 10,12,14 &a 16 and feel my happiest as a 12/14. Couldn’t care less if others find me attractive, I feel good then.

PurpleDaisies · 14/01/2021 10:36

You don’t need to feel sad. Hmm
People have different physical preferences. I don’t think anyone has said someone couldn’t be attractive at both a 10 and a 14.

But I personally feel happiest and more comfortable at size 10!
If you feel more comfy at 12/14 then thats great, but not everyone is going to feel the same as you are they?

When I put weight on it pools around my face and middle and it makes me look puffy and not nice. I dont look curvy and sexy at size 14, i just bloated. I have no control over where the weight goes on my body so I stay a size 10 which is where I feel most comfortable and happy in my own skin.

cushioncovers · 14/01/2021 10:41

I've always thought curves not obesity which I am are more attractive rather than a stick thin figure.

I am an 8. I have curves.
BakewellGin1 · 14/01/2021 10:44

Yes....

Ive been everything from 8 to 16.

My best is a 12 which at the moment is my diet aim.

Il be honest... In photos of my group of friends I'm the biggest both height and weight, this bothers me greatly.

I'm 5ft 7 and would chop a leg off to be a 10 again....

Welshgal85 · 14/01/2021 10:45

I agree @2pinkginsplease also the Kate Moss quote about nothing tasting as good as skinny feels was so toxic and damaging for a lot of people and was a pretty irresponsible thing for a public figure to say. Hopefully she’s reconsidered it as she’s grown up.

Glenorma · 14/01/2021 10:51

Everyone looks better slim. That’s what the multi million pound diet industry is based on.

How many women are stick thin at a current size 10?

You can have curves at a size 6 or 8.

Russellbrandshair · 14/01/2021 10:54

I look waaaaay better as a size 10.

I'm sorry but why the fck should I be shamed for not feeling great as a size 14? surely, its my choice how I like my body best?

I dont shame anyone else for their body choices- if you feel great at size 18 or 20 then I think thats wonderful. I personally feel better as a size 10 so please respect that. We are not all the same and just because someone has different preferences to you doesnt mean they are "wrong".

Ive never seen anyone who is a size 10 and “stick thin”. Size 6 yes but not a 10. I’m another one who still has her curves at size 8. You don’t lose your frame!
NattyDiamondDoll · 14/01/2021 10:56

I'm 5ft 1. Look a million times better as a size 10 (or preferably an 8). I've been a size 14 at my height (undiagnosed underactive thyroid) and I was obese and felt it.

Russellbrandshair · 14/01/2021 10:56

I havent either. I'm a 36D and size 10- thats hardly "stick thin" or without curves lol

Really?
