I've started a new one. Please join us and share the boring and mundane things happening in your world. It will be calming for all.

I've not gone to bed - bc. little football club Holstein Kiel kicked Munich out of the cup on penalties. Grin
Which cheered me up quite a bit.

Best wishes to all.

Nydj · 13/01/2021 22:46

@atz333, well done on taking the first step to get help and I am so glad you are feeling better. Oh and congratulations on your baby!

Nydj · 13/01/2021 22:47

@Frownette, I think it’s just me but will try again just to test -my- -incompetence-

halfpasteleven · 13/01/2021 22:48

That's good @atz333
My mantra is "one day at a time" and also "this is just a phase and it will pass"

There's another version of the second one which made me smile when I read it so here goes:
"This too shall pass. It might pass like a kidney stone but it will pass". Smile

Nydj · 13/01/2021 22:48

Yep, incompetence is at 100% 🤣🤣

Frownette · 13/01/2021 22:50

Ok so it's: text , no spaces. I was only doing spaces here so it wouldn't strike it out!

atz333 · 13/01/2021 22:54

@halfpasteleven I definitely like that one!

EggyPegg · 13/01/2021 22:55

@Nydj, I just click on the little italics icon next to the preview/post buttons. If you click on the delete option, it places it for you. Just remember to move your cursor out of the lines before starting your next un-struckthrough word.

EggyPegg · 13/01/2021 22:59

@atz333, I'm so pleased to hear that today has been a better day. Do you have a sling? That's my number 1 bit of parenting advice. Just strap that baby to you and get on with your day. Means you have your hands free and don't feel quite so tied down, and she'll just fall asleep wherever we won't talk about the time I dropped cucumber and mayonnaise on DS1s head during my lunch whilst he slept

NotanotherboxofFrogs · 13/01/2021 22:59

I had a phone call with the gp this afternoon, much talk about nothing, summed up as - Contact someone else not us, try this and that, wait and see, don't know don't care and don't worry. if it was only that simple,

No closer to resolving what needed to be resolved and feel fobbed off, yes I know some things will resolve with time but I have waited a couple of months in a couple of cases to allow that time before contacting the GP.

AnnieAreYouOkHun · 13/01/2021 23:19

Tonight I managed to make a curry that actually tasted nice, ds3 said it was yuck.

Frownette · 13/01/2021 23:23

What sort of curry?

I've run out of teabags

soddingkitten · 14/01/2021 00:04

Oh my God! Why didn’t I know about the frickin’ genius formatting buttons all this time? I’ve been typing it in longhand since forever and the iphone update before last killed the strikethrough for me because it corrects two short hyphens to a single long one every damned time. Thank you Eggy!

atz333 · 14/01/2021 00:08

@EggyPegg I don't have one. I was planning on getting one though and am looking into which one to buy. There are so many options! Any recommendations?
During the day tbh she's pretty good with settling after feeds etc which I'm very grateful for. At times though it would be helpful to have her with me so I can get on with things.

Frownette · 14/01/2021 00:09

Just had a text to say COVID negative. I'm free to food shop.

QuestionableMouse · 14/01/2021 00:18

How long did it take @Frownette? My partner did a home test yesterday and he's still waiting.

Frownette · 14/01/2021 00:31

@QuestionableMouse pretty quick, received it 2.30pm Tuesday, got it into 5pm post with priority postbox, it was received at medical centre 8am yesterday then results at mignight, so less than 24 hours.

Did your partner post back yesterday and it will be received this morning?

QuestionableMouse · 14/01/2021 00:37

He posted it at 4pm yesterday. Hoping it's as quick as yours.

Champagneforeveryone · 14/01/2021 00:41

Hoorah frownette, run free my child GrinGrin

alwayshappensonnye · 14/01/2021 00:47

My news: I broke my elbow and arm last weekend which resulted in surgery. I'm laid awake feeling very sorry for myself as it's still agony. I spend my days feeling sorry for myself. My only solace is counting how many times Ben Shepherd says "fire it up" on tipping point Grin

HeronLanyon · 14/01/2021 01:18

Oh always so sorry ! Ben shepherd isn’t much solace IMO Confused. Does it help at all knowing that the vast majority of everyone else isn’t exactly up to much or having much fun? Get well soon.

Silkiechickscat · 14/01/2021 01:32

Congrats Frownette Run wild and free in that food shop Grin

Just having a glass of water. Just filled in DS's student survey and sorted his e-mail.

Discussed house sale with DH who is meh just leave everything, his ostrich answer to any problem. Smile Though he may be right.

atz333 · 14/01/2021 06:05

@alwayshappensonnye Hope you feel better soon!

Just been up to feed little one and she's gone straight to sleep afterwards. I'm just sat in the glider chair, gliding away, looking at the bed and thinking about moving to it to sleep. But I'm rather comfortable here.

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 14/01/2021 06:10

Beds are overrated. i had one of those chairs I used when DC were little. Don't move.

HelenaJustina · 14/01/2021 06:33

@alwayshappensonnye that sounds horrible, how did you manage to do that?!

@atz333 the best thing about having DC1 was that if they fed and went straight to sleep at 5-7am then I could go back to sleep too. If DC2 onwards woke and fed, and went straight back to sleep, you get bet that a toddler or older sibling would have you up for the day in 30 minutes time, just as you dropped into deep sleep.

@Frownette enjoy the food shop, have got mine to do today. Most exciting bit of the day will be deciding when to do it. Straight after work (whenever that is, or later in the evening)
