Moisturiser - if you had a limited budget what would you suggest?

My thirties have crept up on me and I need a decent.. or at least affordable.. moisturiser. My skin is generally dry, can be oily around the T zone during TOTM.
My husband is currently the sole wage earner so although I have some money to myself I'm looking under the £10 mark. Not looking for miracles, just hoping for a decent no frills product that will prevent if not cure!

I followed my mum with Nivea and Olay products, the cheaper end probably suits your budget. Again radiance b by Superdrug or their vitamin e range.

I discovered aldi skin care in the first lockdown as I wasn’t going anywhere to but my usual. It reminds me of nivea and olay tbh but it’s so cheap. They do a lower price and then the slightly more expensive range. Both within your budget.

Also use a night cream, eat well and drink water regularly. It will all show in your skin.

I have never spent big on a face cream or moisteriser.. Nivea for me. but when I wash off make up before bed, And my skin feels a bit tight, I put on a thin smear of vaseline, which makes the skin feel supple and soft all night until the next day. Oldie skin here, and no wrinkles.

Almond oil from Sainsbury's at less than £2 a bottle.

I use it for oil cleansing and moisturising.

I never use anything else on my face except for a weekly turmeric, honey and yoghurt face mask.

I drink 2l of water a day and eat clean.

I'm 46 and have great skin.

1forAll74 you'll probably find that moisturiser before the vasaline would work wonders as the vasaline alone won't moisturise it will just stop any moisture entering or leaving your skin.

Where do you find Aveeno moisturiser? Only ever seen the body products which are very good

I'm 32 and have similar skin to you OP. Fairly clear, the odd breakout, blackheads on nose that nothing seems to shift and tends to be a bit more oily here.

I've been using the Superdrug Vitamin E range for a while. Seems good and fits the budget, often on offer too. I use the day cream with SPF, night cream, exfoliater and dual phase cleansing oil. I don't use it all everyday, so for example I'll only exfoliate my face when I wash my hair (every 3 days or so), always use the day cream after exfoliating and sometimes other days, use the cleanser most days but not all, same with the night cream. My skin is definitely better and I seem to need a lot less foundation to create a decent 'base'.

That said, very intrigued by the Aldi caviar everyone has raved about. I bought their hot cloth cleanser once and it was good, so might look out for it.

I’ve used simple light hydrating moisturiser all of my adult life. (Rich moisturiser is just to gloopy for my skin type).
Absolutely swear by it. Light, not greasy at all, sinks in really well, feels refreshing. Often on 3 for 2 offers or similar.
I am frequently told my skin is great/I look a lot younger than I am. I put that down to genes and never wearing make up but also life long use of this.

Aveeno is in boots, I just get the upside down tube of the lotion. Its for the face too. Make sure its not the hand cream, they look the same!

I buy the fragrance free palmers cocoa butter. Think it’s like 300ml for about £3.50. I had run out of whatever I used before during lockdown so used that. My skin is really sensitive and a mixture of dry and oily. This has been the best thing I’ve ever put on my face and the bottle lasts about 6 months.

Another Aldi lover here, I use their face serum during the day and their rose oil of an evening.

I like all Nivea Q10 stuff, I switched from Clinique as I prefer it.

I have combination skin and can't get on with Nivea products. Like a PP it just sits on my skin and feels greasy rather than sinking in.

I really rate the Superdrug Naturally Radiant range which is currently on buy one get one free. The Superdrug vitamin E is too rich for my skin.

I have tried some Aldi stuff before, but like Nivea it sits on my skin greasily.

I also likeThe Bodyshop vitamin E range, no 7 Protect and Perfect and Olay Regenerist, but we are into £££ territory here, although the Olay often has half price offers.

Simple rich moisturiser is great for me. Normally about £2 and works really well on my skin.

Aldi. Have used Clinique, Clarins and other brands in the past but DH wanted a cheap moisturiser for himself and picked up one in Aldi. He was impressed so I tried it and now use both their day and night creams. Amazing bargain at less the £2 or their flash Caviar range around £7.

I love this range from Superdrug. I think I bought 3 creams for less than £10 last month.

I love Aldi Lacura face moisturiser.
It has SPF 30 in it which is brilliant.

I really like the Superdrug Naturally radiant stuff, and its almost always got an offer of some sort on. As my skin is a bit narky at the moment, I use a smear of The Ordinary Azelic acid on the part that is very red alongside the moisturiser

I've been through them all, even Creme de la Mer for a while. I switched to bog standard Nivea cream about a month ago and never looked back. I have rosacea so do need to be careful with my skin, Nivea has been fantastic, my skin has never looked so good.
