What’s Happening In Your House?

I’m the most relaxed I’ve been in ages & sadly I have to go back to work tomorrow after over a week off. Still, I enjoy my job & get on well with my colleagues so it’s all good. Cooking bangers, mash & beans for tea. DD says she doesn’t want anything. Had a lovely shopping trip on my own today. M & S gave me cash instead of store credit when I returned a jumper I got for Christmas so I’m putting the money towards slippers & a clear case for my new I Phone 11 which should arrive tomorrow. I spent a voucher from my DB & SIL at Primark - got loads of vests, t shirts & long sleeved tops. Also enjoyed a wander round M & S foodhall. Always a treat! Hoped to buy some pressies for next Christmas in Boots but the shelves were virtually bare. It was so quiet in the town. We have recently entered tier 3 so not surprising. I had planned to sort out a load of DD’s stuff which is in carrier bags on the landing & in DH’s office. Might do that after tea. The house is gradually getting decluttered. DD has new furniture arriving in a couple of weeks so we want to clear her room ready.

Youngest DC is asleep on my lap, middle one is laying in my bed trying to get to sleep and eldest is wandering around the house bored as I told him to stop playing Minecraft and find something to do!

DH is watching a film and I haven't decided what to do this evening, I was in a sorting out mood earlier but that will probably have gone by the time I eat dinner.

The sausages are in the oven and I made cauliflower cheese to have with them earlier, so no proper cooking this evening.

Me and watching telly, just had dinner,both stuffed. I'm working tomorrow.

We took the dogs for a long walk, then snoozed in front of the fire. DS made fajitas for tea. Now we’re all doing our own thing. I’m going up to read in bed soon because I slept badly last night.

So many of us had sausages tonight - so did we, braised with red cabbage and garlic, with salad and polenta triangles.

I've just finished reading to the DCs and now sitting at the top of the stairs to make sure they fall asleep and don't turn their lights on again. Then I will do a yoga video. I can hear DH playing the double bass downstairs and I hope he cleared up the kitchen or I will be really peeved!!

Back to work tomorrow after nearly 2 weeks off - feel a bit blue about it, though I really do love my job and my colleagues!

DDs are watching a TV documentary about penguins.

I’m feeding the baby and hoping he’ll agree to sleep in his bedside crib so I can have an evening to myself.

I’d hazard a guess that DH is playing videogames.

DH cooked an awesome beef stew (started at 9am today and it was ready at 6pm, yum!).

I'm now sitting in DD nursery waiting for her to go to sleep (knowing she will start crying for me within the hour, 9 month sleep regression??). Also have work tomorrow and not looking forward to the lack of sleep.

DD 1 is watching tv while also messaging friends on her iPad. DS and DH are in the garden playroom on the kids new mini pool table (sounds like 8yo is winning by the gloating noises).

I'm trying not to nod off, watching telly and reading MN.

DH is playing cyberpunk.

DS2 is playing something online with his friends.

DS1 is playing something online with his friends.

OHs on the PC. Kids are all with other parents until later in the week. I'm scrolling the internet trying to motivate myself to get showered for my 3rd night shift having not really slept all day. Roll on mat leave in 3 weeks.

Sitting on DS's bedroom floor waiting for him to fall asleep, taking a very long time!
Will make a brew when I go down and eat the last piece of cake in the house. Not sure what we'll watch yet but fancy something easy going as its back to normality tomorrow!

The Christmas Cake has just been finished. This marks the end of anything resembling Christmas food - and so normal healthy eating must begin tomorrow.

Booo!

I've finished cleaning the kitchen after cooking kids supper (chicken curry) & am now on phone after playing cards with DD & a game with DS2 who has now gone up to shower & get ready for bed. DH is faffing in the kitchen as he's making us dinner. He randomly went to a seafood shop and bought a sea bass. DS1 is watching NFL whilst simultaneously reading something on his phone.

Thrilling!

We're all 4 watching tv together, before dh goes back to wfh tomorrow and I try to keep the children happy and off screens for a couple of hours a day....dd is back at school in 2 weeks but ds and I should return on Thursday. We'll see....

Just got DS down for the night.

DH is cooking dinner (and by cooking, I mean sticking chicken kievs and chips in the oven).

The cats are curled up on the shelf behind me sleeping.

I'm flicking through the TV guide trying to find something decent to watch and feeling disappointed by the lack of anything remotely appealing.

I’ve been in a rotten mood all day. DS accused me of trying to control his life so I slapped him and now DD is pushing my buttons so I’ve made a brew and come to my bedroom and closed the door and left her running her mouth in her bedroom before I entirely lose the plot with her too.

We had a late cooked breakfast which I promised all over Christmas, as we haven’t had one since the summer. Both adult DS’s are back to work tomorrow, so cooked some pasta and did sandwiches for their lunches. I have just had a bath. DS1 and DH are watching the Darts final, DS2 is playing PS5 in bedroom. I am clearing up, sorting out washing for tomorrow. I had pasta for tea, DH had cheese on toast, DS’s had pizza.

About to watch A Perfect Planet on BBC1.

DP designing his Christmas card for next year on his tablet (so he can take advantage of a print deal). He's a postman so sends about 700.

DS upstairs online gaming as usual.

Sausages here as well, in casserole form!!

I'm watching Graham Norton from a couple of weeks ago having just eaten tuna salad. Dh is at work till 10.45pm.

DC are upstairs supposedly settling down to sleep but it's not going well. I'm trying to keep busy, rather scared about going back to school to work tomorrow.

After an exciting morning cleaning out the hamster cage I then also cleaned DD's room.

Lots of house organising - put washing away, changed the bins etc.

I had fish in prawn sauce and greens for tea, DD had pasta and grated cheese. She made a slushy to drink.

She is now playing on the Xbox and I have just ordered a label maker from Amazon after reorganising the fridge - rock 'n' roll.

That's about as exciting as it gets in Tier 4 I'm afraid!
