Something sparkly to replace my tree

Going to the take the Christmas tree down in the next few days but will really miss my twinkly lights in the evening. Any recommendations for something to replace it with that will still make me feel cosy in the evenings? I've seen a light up twig tree thing in Argos, it's got white lights though and I wanted a warmer white/yellowy lights.

We've taken a few sets of fairy lights and wrapped them around the stair banisters (at the bottom)

I have a twig tree type thing up all year.

Ilovemycat13 · 02/01/2021 17:26

I’ve just kept fairy lights up around the tv unit 😁

JustAPassingFashion · 02/01/2021 17:43

How about a tall floor lantern? You can put candles or fairy lights inside?

OneEpisode · 02/01/2021 17:44

One year we left the lights up (round beams and frames, not tree) just declared they were winter lights.

Soontobe60 · 02/01/2021 17:57

4 years ago we put lights up around our window - it has wooden blinds and no curtains - for Christmas. They’re still there but with added fairy lights between the blinds and the window. We also have some fake greenery on the mantle intertwined with fairy lights. They’ll come down tomorrow. We no longer have a tree because the cats kept climbing up it. We have a tree shaped stand instead (like the photo but that’s not mine 🤣)

I’ve got a wax melt burner lamp similar to this one. The photo doesn’t really do it justice but it’s lovely and warm looking!

Like ilovemycat I’m also leaving the fairy lights up around my tv Smile

Beamur · 02/01/2021 18:03

I've taken down the tree but kept fairy lights out. Warm lamps also help.

Squ1ggle · 02/01/2021 18:18

We have warm white fairy lights all year round draped over the mirror in the living room

We did this a few days ago, our stairs are in the corner of our sitting room. We were debating taking down the tree for a few days as it was getting crispy and thought we would only miss the lights, so we did this. I think we might keep them until spring, and put them up again when it starts getting grim in late autumn as a kind of hygge type thing I suppose.

The larger one from Amazon

I'm putting up red fairy lights and making some origami birds with the kids for new year decorations - I also can't face taking down the tree this year!!

ThorFull · 02/01/2021 19:20

I’ve put the fairy lights in vases and jars.

Holothane · 02/01/2021 19:22

I have about 8 or 9 empty gin bottles (fancy ones) with tiny string lights in. They are round the non-functioning fireplace and add a nice glow of an evening.

CoronaIsWatching · 02/01/2021 19:32

Just put the lights over a houseplant? Personally I've taken down all my lights and replaced with fresh flowers, spring bulbs. For me it's the countdown to Spring

ILoveMyMonkey · 02/01/2021 19:47

We have fairy lights (200 warm lights plug in from sun elm £15) which we hung around our tv last year when we decorated. Lovely and cosy.
