Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

I am so sorry things are not progressing as well as you would hope at the moment. Thank you for taking the time to let us know what is going on. I think about you quite a few times a day. Take care of yourself and don't be worrying about the children on their devices. They need normality, space and fun while they process what is gong on with their father.

Thinking of you, having been in that position before with my husband. It's one utterly nerve wracking and exhausting rollercoaster. I hope that you get some sleep. If you can't sleep, then listen to the calm app or out the radio on low in the dark. I've been there waiting for that call all night (although my husband was already on life support). It's horrendous. Hang on in there and sending you a big virtual hug and a cup of sweet tea.

Op please don't worry about dc on devices.
It's a crisis and it's keeping them happy and occupied, which is the best thing for them at the moment.
Lower standards, anything to get through.
Op I've been waiting for that call (not covid) icu, Poor sleep, the sheer worry..

Please Eat something, anything and maybe your very healthy but if your like me, do try and eat something healthy... Nibble an apple... Also you may not need it but again when I've had relatives in health crisis and felt anxious the doc gave me diaazopam

2m g tablets, they were amazing, and just what I needed I was given 7 or so each time but only took about 2 each time, one in the day and one at night before bed to help me relax and sleep.. They are amazing and I only used what I needed.

I was also given some for muscle issues last year and I've only used 3 say this because they are an amazing drug for times of stress... But not necessarily madly addictive!.

As scary as this is, as pp said he's in the best place, he's in and getting treatment.

Thank you OP. You are doing exactly the right thing, encouraging him to lie on his tummy. This really helps oxygenation and may prevent the need for ventilation.
