Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

Is he having any of the trial drugs? DH is now out of hospital, he had remdesivir which markedly improved his condition. I saw something about Tocilizumab being useful for patients with chronic kidney disease.

It's a bastard virus.

But it sounds like a really good unit & I'm sure they're doing all they can for him. He's young & despite the kidney issues, having age on his side is a great thing.

It's awful for you to be going through this at any time, but having Covid yourself you must be SO exhausted. I hope you & the kids are all looking after each other and encouraging each other to eat, drink lots of water & try to rest - even if you can't sleep.

I am so, so sorry to hear the ongoing struggle that your husband is facing. My heart goes out to you it really does. I know exactly how you feel. I'm in exactly the same position sweetheart. My husbands' conditions mirror your husband's. I've been logging into MN and have tried to avoid the Covid threads, and I couldn't find this one, it had gone right back in my "I'm On" notifications.
My genuine heartfelt feelings are with you and your husband now. I wish you strength and love. A genuine hand hold from me xxx ❤️
