Handhold DH heading to ICU covid

DH went to hospital yesterday for breathing issues. We’ve been unwell for a few days and we’re already awaiting covid tests.

Just been told he’s taken a turn and is heading to ICU. He is ECV and we’ve been so careful, we’ve not been out except to the supermarket, and we’ve avoided seeing anyone.

I’m just so worried and I know the next few days will be critical

Thank you so much for taking the time to update us yesterday. There are so many people sending you their thoughts and prayers right now. It's starting to tentatively look a little better. Fingers crossed it will continue to. Glad that you are starting to feel a little better. You must be beyond exhausted! Hope that family and friends are dropping by with meals etc and giving you lots of support.

Glad you are seeing small but steady improvements.

You probably need a good rest but think about whether some iron might give you a bit of a boost with your tiredness. I use Active Iron tablets which are high strength easy absorption and a few days on those make a real difference for me.

Great news. As a long Covid sufferer having caught it in March I can only reiterate. Stay safe.

Not so positive update. Yesterday DH told me he was out of the woods and they were going to step down his oxygen. I’ve not heard from him since.

The hospital called not long ago to say he’s deteriorating. He’s in the danger zone (7-14 days). They’ve done a chest X-ray and it’s looking dense. His oxygen requirements have shot up. They’re considering ventilating him again and they’ll call me so I can see him before he’s vented. They’ve told me to be ready.

I wish I wasn’t writing this. I wish it wasn’t real, just a horrible dream.

I do hope that your dh turns yet another corner and battles on through this stage. I'm currently in self isolation due to being positive myself and on day 9.

I couldn't sleep last night thinking about shit and unfair the last 10 months. It's just so unfair on your family and horrendous but you are not alone. Everything crossed for you all

You have been amazingly strong throughout this. Keep going, look after yourself and know that there is an amazing team there with him giving him the best possible care.
