I know, I know, new years resolutions are passe/juvenile and they go against all the mn rules but I'm pretty sure everyone makes some mentally, whether they admit it or not. Mine are-

-Eat healthier/exercise more/lose weight
-Cut down on spending and start saving seriously

Boring as fuck aren't I Blush Hit me with your wild and wacky ones so that I can steal them please Grin

  1. I will NOT buy more Star Trek (or indeed any film, tv series or book) merchandise until I’ve put new shelves up for my current new items.
  2. I will cut my self some fucking slack and try to beat my mental health issues for once and for all.
  3. I will stop harassing strangers in the street if they’re walking cute dogs (pre and post Covid ofc).
MyBeloved · 01/01/2021 02:22

Face yoga. That is all.

WarmSausageTea · 01/01/2021 02:32

Read at least one chapter of a physical book every day.

Spend at least 15 minutes a day improving my French on Duolingo. (Though I’ve been doing that since March 2020.)

At least once a week, spend an hour sorting paperwork.

Ideally, spend less time on Pokémon Go, but that’s not likely to happen.

grassisjeweled · 01/01/2021 02:33

Look into botox

nocoolnamesleft · 01/01/2021 02:34

Survive.

LuvMyBoyz · 01/01/2021 02:38

Stop swearing

MyrtlesMoans · 01/01/2021 02:43

Complete Dry January.

Read at least 3 books in January.

Get over my ex.

Sort my affairs out - physical space, documents, financial, etc (get my shit together 😂)

Go for a nature walk every week end.

Reduce screen time to 1 - 2 hours per day.

There's more I'm sure.

2) I will cut my self some fucking slack and try to beat my mental health issues for once and for all

This is pretty much my main one. Almost 5 years housebound as a result and I'm sick of being a victim to it BUT I'm also wanting to break the cycle of pushing myself to do things that make me appear "better" to others inc hcps but which I am essentially "faking" and which ultimately leads to me spiralling down again and each bloody time I'm even worse! This time I want to get well slowly but properly if that makes sense?

Learn to listen and be supportive without trying to make things right for people bad habit of mine I have the urge to change things and struggle to just let them vent.

Take a beat before reacting to toxic people's effects in my relationships with others, that sounds a bit cryptic I know but makes sense to me

WhatWouldPhyllisCraneDo · 01/01/2021 02:53

1.Start, and continue with TOMM to keep the house clean and tidy.

  1. Eat healthier and exercise more. I need to lose about 10 stone overall.
  2. Read more books instead of wasting time on my phone.
  3. Set up my etsy shop

I'm hoping all of those will help me improve my mental health which is at an all time low.

3kidsareenough · 01/01/2021 03:16

To say NO.

It's been so much easier because of Covid and lockdown to say NO and my life has been better for it. So going forward I'm going to pretend to myself I'm still in lockdown and say NO to my pushy sister in law about meeting up so she can berate me about my life, my children, my husband, give me a hard time about being a working mother (I don't have a choice bills need paying) but the last 9 months I haven't been in her company and I'm a much happier person for it. It will continue. And to be able to take a stand at work with certain colleagues who like to bitch.

Oh and reading way more books Grin of course Smile

buckeejit · 01/01/2021 03:36

2021*

Blondie1984 · 01/01/2021 03:40

No more stupid diets, food rules or fads - I’m going to stop trying to control my body and it’s size/shape and just accept it for what it is

BarcelonaFreddie · 01/01/2021 03:50
  1. To not think about, let alone worry about, things that I have no control over.

  2. Try to get up earlier on weekends

DelphineWalsh · 01/01/2021 03:56

Movement everyday
Read more books

FrenchFancie · 01/01/2021 06:33

Take up knitting / crochet again - try to craft a bit every day instead of time wasting on my phone.

Loose 3 stone to help sort out some health problems. I dgaf what I look like to be honest but it’s impacting my health and how I function so time to do something about it!

That’s it really!

CarlottaValdez · 01/01/2021 06:37

Mine are pretty standard too. Read more, do more art and craft, keep losing weight. I’m hoping this is the year I’ll make it into the healthy bit of BMI!

TanglinOrchards · 01/01/2021 07:08

Have more fun.

That's it.

newbie202020 · 01/01/2021 08:04

Brush teeth mindfully

Buy myself some uggs/birkenstocks and vans.

Complete the penny a day savings challenge

FabulouslyFab · 01/01/2021 08:16

Loose 1lb per week and fit into my summer clothes again by July
Use up my yarn stash and resist the temptation to add to it!
Stop listening to the news and breakfast tv
Happy 2021!! 😁

MrsDThomas · 01/01/2021 08:33

Much less booze. I dont drink a lot but its a glass of wine 4-5 nights a week. Eat less crap. Im bloated even though a size 10 i look 4 months pregnant. Ive just finished my 6 course B12 injections so gonna eat better, less sugar/carbs and keep at the 2 litres of water a day. I walk lots and run so need to keep at that.

MrsDThomas · 01/01/2021 08:37

Oh and lose 6 lbs. much if that will cone from the waist issue! And do some sort of exercise at hone like the plank twice a day, squats, star jumps. Just a little something few times a day.

katmarie · 01/01/2021 08:40

Dh and I are doing dry January. I need to lose a lot of weight so a general healthy eating/more exercise approach as well. Pay down debts and spend less frivolously. Declutter the house. Pretty much the same as last year!
