I know, I know, new years resolutions are passe/juvenile and they go against all the mn rules but I'm pretty sure everyone makes some mentally, whether they admit it or not. Mine are-

-Eat healthier/exercise more/lose weight
-Cut down on spending and start saving seriously

Boring as fuck aren't I Blush Hit me with your wild and wacky ones so that I can steal them please Grin

  • Continue running 3 times a week. (Always feel like giving up but it does me good).
  • stop buying books and reading the ones I have
  • practise the piano every day (am always amazed at how effective this is!)
  • stop buying miracle hair growth products that never work*, accept the alopecia and get it cut off!
  • most of which I have read about on MN!!
Hollybutnoivy · 01/01/2021 08:50

*start reading !!

Nomnomarrgh · 01/01/2021 09:12

Stay alive

Get a job that I will not lose due to pandemic closing schools yet again

Cycle until the scary hills around here stop defeating me.

Anotherlovelybitofsquirrel · 01/01/2021 09:26

@grassisjeweled go for it! I e been having it for years. My advice is get it done by a doctor , done properly it will change your world! Grin

  1. Stop alcohol for a while, not a big drinker but I'd like to see the difference it makes.

2). To stop worrying about what I've said/not said, what people think of me. The likelihood is they don't think of me. Who has time when we are busy with our own stuff

  1. To stop looking back on previous choices etc, I can't change anything that's happened BUT I can change /choose what's going happen to a point.

  2. Less screen time

  3. Be more organized when working from home. I let my desk get in a mess, that makes me anxious. Take my lunch and nit eat it at my desk and still work.

  4. Get rid of people from SM and real life that are not a part of my life /are twats Grin

  5. I must make no effort for people that don't do the same.

Give up coffee to help with perimenopause and also save money
Ab/arm/bum workout 5 x week
Keep weight above 8 stone 3 (currently have covid and I look like skeletor)
Start taking a postgraduate course seriously - only 4 months left and so much to do
Reportage house and scope out loft conversion for a master suite

00100001 · 01/01/2021 09:37

To have "no opinion" at work. Just go in, do my job, go home. Don't get drawn in to the crap. it takes so long for any decisions to be made it drives me potty. So no more!

InterstellarDrifter · 01/01/2021 09:42

Weight loss from basing my food mainly around fruit and veg
Read every day
Yoga every day in January
Do more at home with dc
Putting my phone down more will help me achieve this as my daily screen time is shocking. I can put at least half that time to better use Blush

JMAngel1 · 01/01/2021 09:48
  1. That is a fantastic one.
WantChewbaccaForGood · 01/01/2021 09:55

Mintjulia · 01/01/2021 09:58

New job
Try to replace the savings I am burning through at the moment Confused
Try to run 5k in under 30 mins
Take my DS on some weekend breaks once Covid restrictions are lifted. We definitely need a change of scene

WantChewbaccaForGood · 01/01/2021 10:02

Oh just thought of another one- get some interesting shoes without worrying about what other people think!
I do admire people who are able to express themselves through hairstyle/tattoos/clothing, I am just so MEH, I'd like to express myself more.

1sttimemumtobe2021 · 01/01/2021 10:02

Read 25 books this year. Every year I say I will read more but never do... I'm thinking 25 is slightly achievable?

riotlady · 01/01/2021 10:06

Finish my masters
Lose 4 stone
Save £8k towards our wedding and a house deposit

ThatDamnKrampus · 01/01/2021 10:07

Minimum spending if possible.

Keep on top of my studies so I dont get sub-par results (I didn't get my best results before Christmas as I fell behind).

Try and get some volunteer work in a suitable place.

Apply for jobs (I'm currently carer for adult dd but if I can find a job with decent salary DH will drop to part time and he will take brunt of care work).

riotlady · 01/01/2021 10:07

Oh yes- and read 32 books. I did 28 in 2019, then 30 in 2020, so want to keep increasing it!

Athinginitself · 01/01/2021 10:10

-Read a whole physical book (am currently just addicted to listening to stuff)
-Do some yoga regularly starting with Adriennes 30 day challenge ( I wont do all 30 days but will do what I can!)

RomeoLikedCapuletGirls · 01/01/2021 10:13

Stop drinking. Start dancing.

blissfulllife · 01/01/2021 10:22

Another one who's going to say "no" more often.
Feel like I've been massively taken for granted last year. Carried everyone's emotional baggage. Found myself trying to make everything easier for everyone else. And in the end I'm just a burnt out mess who's made a rod for her own back. And everyone I've bent over backwards to help do not appreciate it and are not there for me now that I need a little support.

And I'm going to let my grey grow out. Nearly 50 so it's time to ditch the dye 😂

Margo34 · 01/01/2021 10:38

(1) eat less biscuits
(2) less screen time on my phone
(3) Read more books

OooErrThor · 01/01/2021 11:28
  1. Continue to be mindful about spending money, I log everything and it keeps me in check.
  2. I've signed up for RED January and have set myself 10,000 steps a day.
  3. Attempt Dry January
  4. Move two belt notches, no more weighing myself just mindful of what I eat and how I move.
  5. Put down phone and pick up book
  6. Not worry if I don't do the above, I will just try again the next day.
Tehmina23 · 01/01/2021 11:53

Lose 3 stone!!

Exercise daily

Have a night time routine

lastqueenofscotland · 01/01/2021 12:10

I don’t set resolutions per se but aims
I’d like to run 2000 miles as my main one.
I’m currently run-streaking and to run every day this year (injury depending!) would be cool

wetasstenalady · 01/01/2021 12:10

To survive

TroysMammy · 01/01/2021 15:47

Use up craft bits I have accumulated to make cards before starting on or buying new paper and card. That bit of paper/card which might become useful is either going to be used or thrown out. I'm a crafting hoarder.

bloodywhitecat · 01/01/2021 16:23

To find happiness in every day.

DP has bile duct cancer and the prognosis is about as poor as it can get so I aim to make the best of every day that we are given.
