Yep, I think this is the one.

Please tell me I'm not alone.

And send macdonalds.

Water, water and more water. Some ibuprofen, and if you can face it, up, dressed and out for a walk.

JEE87 · 26/12/2020 12:11

Nope your not alone currently looking for hangover cures on here 🤢

fizzyp0p · 26/12/2020 12:12

I drank champagne and was doing ok on that, then after lunch DH made me an espresso martini.

We used to have a functional shower curtain but I pulled it down having an indie disco in the bathroom. Currently feeling like I need to be on a drip with someone mopping by brow with a cool flannel at regular intervals.

badpuma · 26/12/2020 12:18

Bracing walk outside in the fresh air -to the 24 hour shop to buy crisps--?

MardyBicardi · 26/12/2020 12:18

Fat coke (yes I know it’s sugar not fat.)
Cold pigs in blankets.
Pain killers.
Sleep on the sofa.
Hair of the dog.
Hope you feel better soon.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 26/12/2020 12:19

I say ‘an’ espresso martini. But it was about 5/6 Blush

Two of my worse ever 'I'm going to die' hangovers were because of tequila and red wine (not together!)...my cures are:

Coca-Cola
Toast (white bread)
Ready salted crisps
Fried egg sandwich if you can stomach it
Lots of water
Sleep

Splann · 26/12/2020 12:25

I always think if you are able to post on mumsnet you are not going to cark it anytime soon. I predict you will live to see another tedious day of 2020 Grin

Superstardjs · 26/12/2020 12:26

I drank all the wine. I then forgot to turn the heating down before I went to bed, so what would have been a fucker of a hangover has been compounded by overheating so I am like ET when he was all scrawny and dying. I too had a disco - no shower curtains were harmed but my 15yo probably didnt need a masterclass in 90s rave moves.

MrsMoastyToasty · 26/12/2020 12:31

Irn bru (full fat version) and a crunchie bar are what you need my friend.
Then if they stay put about an hour later have a bacon roll and a tea or coffee.
Afternoon nap.
More tea and coffee.
Light dinner (I favour baked beans on toast).
Early bedtime.

tshirtsuntan · 26/12/2020 12:34

Dioralyte and paracetamol.

AriesTheRam · 26/12/2020 12:36

Nap then a glass of wine or 3.This will make you feel merry, taking away the hangover feeling but not enough to feel hubgiver the next day

SmidgenofaPigeon · 26/12/2020 12:36

Laughing at image of gnarled-dying E.T 😂

AriesTheRam · 26/12/2020 12:38

@Superstardjs easily the funniest image ive pictured in a long time Grin

"indie disco in the bathroom" - LOVE IT..........
Shingleballs · 26/12/2020 12:42

My remedy is to try and get knocked out to sleep through the pain.
Kids calpol and nurofen, God knows why but it works better on my hangover.
Diorylte.
Antihistamine.
Water.

ThePerfectPintOfIceColdBeer · 26/12/2020 12:54

Thank you for this thread I'm glad I'm not alone lol, I was doing ok until my sister announced at about 8pm that she fancied a vodka. A whole bottle of vodka later and here I am.

Does anyone else find that alcohol knocks you out but then you wake up a short while later? I got into bed at midnight fell asleep but from about 2am I could not get back to sleep.

tierthreetwoone · 26/12/2020 12:56

Full fat coke and cheese and onion crisps

Chips and gravy

A walk if you can manage it

Ffsnosexallowed · 26/12/2020 13:00

Yes. If I'm drunk I simply can't sleep. Worst night ever was after my brother's wedding, most drunk I've ever been and didn't sleep a wink. Next day I fell asleep in wagamamas in a bowl of ramen.

SmidgenofaPigeon · 26/12/2020 13:03

I’ve just had leftover cauliflower cheese on sour dough, I still feel like death.

I think need to be in intensive care.

SimonJT · 26/12/2020 13:03

Theres a hangover in our home today, my partner at around 4am was in the bathroom being sick and occasionally saying “make it stop” as though he was begging someone to finish him off. Everytime he got back in bed he had to immediately get back up again to be sick, he really really appreciated me laughing at him.

He was then found at 7:30am completely naked sprawled out asleep on the bathroom floor, I got ready around him and left him there. Don’t worry, I made sure to gather lots of photo evidence before sorting a blanket and pillow.

He made it into the living room about half an hour ago, my son offered him a chocolate and the sight of food made him heave 😂 as five year olds are very honest he has been told he stinks several times.

I think he is really enjoying the level of sympathy hes getting.

Smokeahontas · 26/12/2020 13:03

Two litres of full sugar Irn Bru, a Pot Noodle and a tube of salt & vinegar Pringles. You’ll be reet.
