I am but hey I am going to have a good day! Tier 4 here and live alone.

I have done a run and taken dog for a short walk and just had some porridge.

I shall have a leisurely bath & then a lovely long dog walk in the sun at lunchtime.

I have an M&S ready meal for my dinner which I am looking forward to with lots of veg and some lovely wine.

A good book on the go so might sit up in bed to read that and will finish the day with a stroll early evening with dog and some chocolates and TV.

Happy Christmas to you all

Not today, but I have been many times and always thoroughly enjoyed the day. No pressure, just wonderful. I hopes yours is a glory :)

whatwedontknow · 25/12/2020 10:39

Not today, but I wish I was, your day sounds perfect, no pressure, no compromise and no disappointments. Happy Christmas 🎄

KateF · 25/12/2020 10:47

I am. My daughters are with their father today. I'm quite content, have had smoked salmon bagels for breakfast, ddog and I are wrapped up in a blanket on the sofa listening to the radio. We'll go to the park later then have our roast chicken and probably fall asleep!

Ifailed · 25/12/2020 10:49

Me, 6th year now. Quite enjoy it, I've no-one to 'please', no expectations so no disappointments. In Tier 4, but am allowed to visit someone as I'm apparently vulnerable as I live alone, so will pop round for a quick hello and a drink which also gets a nice walk in.
TV is crap, as usual, so will treat tonight as any other evening.

mdh2020 · 25/12/2020 10:54

Not my neighbour. She lives with her brother and has one of her children, their partner and the grandchildren staying with her. It is very galling to hear the grandchildren playing when we are obeying the rules. We live in Tier 4.

daisydalrymple · 25/12/2020 10:56

Wishing you a merry Christmas and hope you all enjoy your days. I’m not alone, but have Covid so am spending the day self isolating in the bedroom. I watched the DC open their gifts wearing my mask from the doorway and that’s it for the day. I’ve had hot chocolate and toast, and have the iPad ready to watch some cheesy Christmas movies on Netflix. Also have a pile of magazines and Christmas books, but the brain fog and headache are putting me off reading at the moment. I’m showered and dressed in my cosies with a blanket and hot water bottle (window wide open 🦠🤧😷😭)

cindylouwhosplaits · 25/12/2020 11:01

I will be this afternoon for a few days. I'm terrible on my own company and just get maudlin, so I'm going to try my best to enjoy it

ponygirlcurtis · 25/12/2020 11:12

I am, DCs away this year. I am having a lovely leisurely day so far - cup of tea in bed while I opened some gifts with a purring cat beside me. I am looking forward to having a day completely to myself, there haven't been many of those this year.

Hope you all have lovely peaceful days.

alltheadrenalin · 25/12/2020 11:21

My sons off to his dads at 2, going to try and force myself to get out on a run but it's looking a wee bit to nippy for me

CannotShakeIt · 25/12/2020 11:36

I am and it’s just so incredibly sad. Merry Christmas everyone x

RoseMartha · 25/12/2020 11:43

I have been on my own for a few hours after dropping my dc at their dads early this morning. Picking them up later and I am going to my social bubble for lunch.

RoseMartha · 25/12/2020 11:44

Forgot to add been for a walk on my own which I enjoyed.

Scattyhattie · 25/12/2020 12:06

I've had a few years practice & quite like just doing my own thing now. Had a leisurely breakfast, will walk the dogs soon and making veggie roast dinner later on for me & dogs. They love ripping the paper off presents, plus i can just wrap any toy they've not seen in a while & are happy Grin
Would normally see family sometime before/after Christmas which we're not this year but have done the virtual catch up.

GoldilocksAndTheThreePears · 25/12/2020 12:06

I'm alone, and have been since march. First christmas ever without my family, even when working abroad or the other end of the country I always made it home. Now I'm about 3 miles from my family, tier 2 area but one sibling living at home works in a shop and my parents provide childcare for 2 other siblings who both work in public so no mixing. I'm disabled and immuno-compromised. Got a ready meal lasagne for christmas dinner later.

Merry Christmas to all of you coping in your own ways xx

EarthWonderer · 25/12/2020 12:51

Me, my partner has just had yet another one of his infamous - only ever does it at me - strops and gone back to bed, simply because I asked him to stop his bloody awful throat clearing that sounds like he's vomiting - he does it 100's of times a day. I hate it, living with him has made me ill and miserable.
. A week ago he was so verbally abusive to me that my heart didn't stop hammering for 4 days.
I can't do this anymore, I don't want to do this anymore.I truly wish I'd never moved here.
I've found 2 houses to rent in my price range. I'm going to check them out on monday, but for now I'm off for a walk.

Flowers for everyone happy or sad.

HaudMaDug · 25/12/2020 12:51

Christmas number 14 on my own here. No one to go to and no one to invite anyway.
Don't mind anymore, can do as I please so this morning I walked the dog, hoovered and then did my VAT return and as I could not get time to get food shopping this week I'll just have to chop up all my left over/mouldy veg and make soup this afternoon.
Thankfully I have plenty of cheese and oatcakes to feast on.
Merry Christmas to all you fellow solo fliers.

madroid · 25/12/2020 12:58

This is a first for me too. I've put the turkey on (I quite like it and saves cooking for a few days) and I'm now going out for a walk.

A Special Merry Christmas to all of us on our own this year!!

@daisydalrymple I hope you feel better soon and have a delayed Christmas day with your family as soon as you're better.

And @CannotShakeIt I hope you have a content and peaceful day that's just okay and not too sad. Hang on to the fact that it will get better in the next month or two now.

@GoldilocksAndTheThreePears I hope you have an enjoyable day too and wish you all Christmas cosiness and peace.x

madroid · 25/12/2020 13:00

@EarthWonderer have a good walk. On Monday I'll be willing you to find a nice cosy place of your own where you can enjoy the (non-throat clearing) peace.

WitchesBritchesPumpkinPants · 25/12/2020 13:03

@daisydalrymple oh you poor thing, I hope you're feeling better soon. What day are you on?

@GoldilocksAndTheThreePears. That sounds a bit sad, I'm sorry there's no one you feel safe enough spending the day with! Are you going to be ok?

@EarthWonderer. Why do you stay with him?

@HaudMaDug not sure if you're joking or not, but don't make yourself sick. Off veg can make you really ill.

I'm on my own, lots of good intentions for a nice walk, but can't force myself out the door. I NEED a dog!!

Envious of those of you with the energy to make it a lovely day!!

Whatohbertram · 25/12/2020 13:09

Me, I have been for a few years. Walked the dogs, cleaned out the garage and moved a shelf indoors. Then had a chat with the chickens and have them some treats, all chickens in the UK have to be shut indoors at the moment because of the Bird flu outbreak so they are very sad. Going to take the dogs out again in a bit while everyone else in the village is lunching so we should have the run of the woods. No nice food as Asda couldn't be arsed to turn up but found some corned beef so having hash for tea and might make an Apple crumbIe. I find Christmas fine actually but sending virtual hugs to those who dont .

CannotShakeIt · 25/12/2020 13:29

@madroid thank you. Enjoy your walk x

Katinski · 25/12/2020 13:30

Me! I've been self-isolating since March. Can't walk now. My cleaner/helper fell down some stairs at her home, resulting in her taking herself off to hospital to have the cut glued a week or so ago.No concussion, thank God.Not heard from her since.
So here I am, no Xmas cards delivered, no tree or decorations up,doesn't feel much like even a scaled back Christmas.
BUT my place is warm,I've a fridge and freezer full. I've even got a Christmas pud!

Hope those homeless men I used to chat to in the City when I could get around are OK.

Merry Christmas everyone!

Sojo88 · 25/12/2020 13:36

Me. First Christmas alone (and hopefully last!). Moved away from family in October and had been planning to drive up to visit them for a few days over Christmas but trip is too long to spend just a day there! Was v upset when I realised I couldn't go but have got used to the idea and realise lots of other people are alone too. Hope you're all enjoying the day as much as possible. I'm watching lots of telly and eating lots of food! Also seeing lots of family over video call.

EBearhug · 25/12/2020 13:40

Me. Not my first Christmas alone. I am doing the full works for dinner, because I like turkey and I like leftovers. (Veg will be fresh, though.)

starfish4 · 25/12/2020 13:44

My Mum was going to just come for a couple of hours, distanced in our extension, but DH now has to isolate. She's planning on a morning walk. Will have her classical music playlist full blast. Also, I thnk she's secretly happy as she's always wanted steak for Xmas day, so she can this year. Another thing, she can eat it later which she prefers.
