The amount of “merry Christmas” posts I’ve seen on social media today. It’s tomorrow ffs. The name is in the title “Christmas day”

OP posts:
speakout · 24/12/2020 12:07

It's the season- I have been saying Merry Christmas to people for a few days now.

SailingandSauvignon · 24/12/2020 12:08

Glædelig Jul ❤️

Witchend · 24/12/2020 12:09

I hear you OP.
Family WhatsApp has had lots of Merry Christmas's on it.

It's tomorrow.

We will be saying that tomorrow as well.

And it is snowing here.... Grin so I am designating today Christmas day.

Sweettea1 · 24/12/2020 12:11

Merry Christmas op hope you and your family have a lovely day.

DontStopThinkingAboutTomorrow · 24/12/2020 12:12

A lot of people won't be on social media tomorrow.
Plus, Christmas to a lot of people is the 24th-26th.
Does it really matter?

Sweettea1 · 24/12/2020 12:12

More than likely saying it today as they won't be using social media tmz an well saying it on boxing day is a little late.

DontStopThinkingAboutTomorrow · 24/12/2020 12:14

I've been wishing people merry Christmas (shop staff, bus drivers etc) all week. Sorry if any of them got annoyed about it, but most seemed to take it in the spirit it was given.

diamondpony80 · 24/12/2020 12:14

I don’t bother much with social media, but if I was to wish people merry Christmas on social media I’d do it today. Tomorrow I intend to spend with my family, not staring at my phone waiting for “likes”. Surely it makes sense to do all that stuff today?

movingonup20 · 24/12/2020 12:15

Christmas Eve is the main event for many. Also some people may not be using social media tomorrow

loulouljh · 24/12/2020 12:15

It's a season isn't it?

Rosebuddydo · 24/12/2020 12:16

It's Christmas now in New Zealand so I will go right ahead thanks and wish my family and friends a Very Merry Christmas!

JassyRadlett · 24/12/2020 12:17

Christmas cards must send you round the bend, OP.

FairNotFair · 24/12/2020 12:19

@DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult

Do you open Christmas cards before Christmas day and get pissed off too, or is your rage reserved solely for social media.
Xmas Grin
1forAll74 · 24/12/2020 12:21

It's the Christmas season, and people who have time to post a merry Christmas message on social media on the actual Christmas day, need a shove off,and come off it for once.

Sunbird24 · 24/12/2020 12:21

@trappedsincesundaymorn

My most thoughtful friends have wished me a Merry Christmas" today because they don't want to do a combined Christmas/birthday greeting tomorrow, so will send me a separate birthday greeting tomorrow.
I have the opposite, today is for birthday wishes, tomorrow is for Merry Christmases!
Confusedflea · 24/12/2020 12:24

@bumhead

I am French so Christmas is today for me. Although it really is the whole festive period. Xmas Biscuit
Joyeux Noel @bumhead! It's Christmas here too, baking for FC tonight :-)
Jenasaurus · 24/12/2020 12:27

Christmas Day is a busy one for lots of people, cooking, eating, opening presents, drinking, sleeping off hangover, assembling childrens toys etc so a lot of people, including myself send out my happy christmas on social media on Christmas Day, its no different to sending christmas cards before the day itself. Its just being nice to people does it really matter if its not the day itself?

trappedsincesundaymorn · 24/12/2020 12:27

Sunbird24

happy birthday....2 days of presents I'm so jealous. Grin

Cattermole · 24/12/2020 12:27

Nadelik Lowen from the windy West....

ifonly4 · 24/12/2020 12:29

I've always wished people a Happy or Merry Christmas if I'm seeing them a day or two before, as in my mind I'm saying I hope they have a nice time. It might be xmas eve, but we've started enjoying ourselves, so far eating xmas cake and I'm about to have cheese, crackers and pickles. One of us will be working 26th, and all of us on 27th, so I don't mind extending it.

PolytheneHam · 24/12/2020 12:30

Merry Christmas!

heseesyouwhenyouaresleeping · 24/12/2020 12:32

this must be one of the most ridiculous threads on MN.

I know people get offended by anything, but really? Xmas Hmm

InTheseUncertainTimes · 24/12/2020 12:32

Half the people on my SM are from a country where the Eve is really the only day celebrated. The other will just have to suffer the premature wishes. I also have some vain hopes of doing non-SM things for most of tomorrow.
