14mo is I'm pretty sure staying awake in protest and sheer bloody mindedness because I don't want him to pinch my nipples while he feeds. I have a raft of various breastfeeding woes at the moment anyway so feeding is sore generally.

I'm not a sweary or angry person but I want to fucking scream. I'm exhausted. He's exhausted. My nipples are in fucking agony.

I woke with a start because I remembered that I hadn't moved the sodding elf!
Got up to move him then realised my ds has sneaked his iPad and is wide awake and staring at the screen.
So now I'm awake worrying that he's addicted to his tech.

I live in Australia. I can't sleep past 5.00. I have cleaned the house, done some baking and now I am putting off going to Aldi.

nettytree · 18/12/2020 04:21

On the night shift in tesco. Only had 3 customers since 12.

MindatWork · 18/12/2020 04:23

DD aged 2 tested positive for covid today Sad. She stirred about an hour ago and I can’t get back to sleep for worrying. I’ve also got massive mum guilt because she caught it at nursery. She’s absolutely fine but this is looking like a really shorty end to a really shitty year. DH was feeling rough yesterday so will be off for a test today, in which case it’s Christmas cancelled for us Gin

I’m awake because I slept most of the day because I didn’t sleep the night before. I’m poorly and have poorly kids. I’m a single mum, I’m scared of losing my job, I have no support other than shared custody, I have disabilities and my house is a shithole.
I’ve never felt more alone. I keep crying but I don’t know what the point of crying is. I’m lonely, I’m exhausted and at the end of my rope.
I feel like my whole life is just endless struggle.
I’m struggling to find the positives at the moment but really need to before my mood spirals

Dinosauraddict · 18/12/2020 04:23

So sorry @TheoriginalLEM

I think I'm up because of work stress. When things are kicking off I have a standard wake up time of 3.30am. Tend to spend an hour trying to get back off then make a decision re lying in bed listening to audio book or going sod it and clearing out the emails.

God how tedious. Is that usual numbers for late night? Is it 24 hours? I worked night shifts for years in hospital, having nothing to do was fatal!
mutantelfoftraal · 18/12/2020 04:24

It's blowing a hoolie out there.

SO sorry for you losing your mum. I hope you have support around you. Sending hugs

Forgot to take my night kalms, so anxiety and insomnia before a lovely 13 hour work day .... this is despite a morning spin class and yoga session before bed Confused

SingleWontMingle · 18/12/2020 04:28

Woke at 3am. Already had a cup of tea and am watching Classic Coronation Street. Feel all over the place with all the restrictions but meeting family in a car park later to do a socially distanced Christmas present swap. Feels like a dodgy drug deal.

lookingatthings · 18/12/2020 04:33

Toddler up since three for the second night in a row. DH did last night so I'm doing tonight. I'm very very pregnant and very very over it

MooseBeTimeForSummer · 18/12/2020 04:37

I’m in Canada. We’re 7 hours behind, so only 9:37pm. And currently -39 with the wind chill.

Olivetreekeeper · 18/12/2020 04:42

Woke up to a loud noise, looked outside and saw. Avan with its hazards flashing and our security light went off so panicked about dog snatchers (totally anxious about this at the moment). Ran downstairs with phone and dressing gown to check on dog.... To find her there and very happy to see me as she'd had a poo explosion Confused and weed on her duvet. Noise had been her kicking her duvet up against the crate. So tidied all that up whilst stopping her running upstairs as she does in the morning to join us in bed. Persuaded her to go back to bed after a few tries, duvet in the washing machine ready for tomorrow...nothing I can do about the stink for now.
Checked outside, van is gone. Watched back CCTV, no one near the house so I think just coincidence. But now I'm too wired for sleep for a while!

Trousersareoverrated · 18/12/2020 04:43

Just woke with a start and now can’t get back to sleep. Annoying because I have a toddler and am pregnant so feel like I should enjoy the rest time while I have it! Also worried because DH went to bed early feeling ill.

@ChristmasinJune did you know you can set screen time on an iPad? DD (not the toddler!) has become a much more pleasant person since I limited her to 1 hour a day and 2 at weekends and it won’t work early in the morning or late at night. No more sneaking it into bed or taking ages to get ready because she’s sneaking her iPad. I haven’t told DH the passcode as he’s too soft and will let her have extra time.

CarinaMarina · 18/12/2020 04:44

DH woke me up because he was awake, so now he's snoring and I'm agonising over a job offer - could either be a great move or a massive mistake.
12 month old dog threw up blood clots yesterday, has lost weight and has a history of frequent pooing - vet is thinking IBD. Dog on 6 week elimination diet, have been googling.

confusedpombear · 18/12/2020 04:45

Night shifts this weekend. They'll be busy so trying to adjust sleep pattern a little in advance

UnionistMum · 18/12/2020 04:47

My mum called me to ask for help.
I miss breafeeding. I stopped this Jan due to surgery.
My toddler has just turned 3.
I know!,long breastfeeding 🤱🏽
If I have another baby would try to breastfeed but only until baby is 20 months too- yeah right! 🤣
I love breastfeeding

supercee · 18/12/2020 04:48

Have started to wake at about 4am and not get back to sleep until after 6. I hate it.

Also have chronic heartburn and no rennies. That'll be the red wine and late night toast.

My anxiety seems to be a permanent feature these days and is getting me so so down.

UnionistMum · 18/12/2020 04:50

Sorry, forgot to say. Love breastfeeding now. But I almost gave up right at the start because baby didn’t latch on properly and my breasts were engorged. I pumped and pumped to get rid of excess milk which only made the problem worse. Luckily during one of my appointments. The most amazing midwife explained what I was doing wrong.

CatholicKidston · 18/12/2020 04:54

I had a really spicy dinner yesterday and now I have a sore tummy Blush

OhYouBadBadKitten · 18/12/2020 04:55

Morning all. Confused
I'm usually awake at 4am for at least a while. My painkillers seem to run out by then and my brain kicks in. Chronically sleep deprived at present.
