If you were invited to a house party would you go?

A bit of covid rule breaking going on round here over Christmas.
I'm avoiding any parties but I do miss them

OP posts:
borntohula · 12/12/2020 19:28

Yeah. Provided there were no high risk attendees there.

crankysaurus · 12/12/2020 19:44

But how do you know you won't meet with someone high risk a week later, borntohula?

scrivette · 12/12/2020 19:58

No.

AntiHop · 12/12/2020 20:18

Definitely not.

Pipandmum · 12/12/2020 20:21

No. But I am thinking of inviting 7 friends over for Christmas drinks - we are in tier one so are allowed six, but four have had covid already.

BackforGood · 12/12/2020 22:42

I have and would. There are small indoor get togethers - soirées not parties - every other day round here (London). People haven't seen their friends properly for so long and it's the Christmas festive season. Was always going to happen if the government put down ridiculous rules.

Wow. The utter self centred-ness and selfishness of some people never fails to amaze me.

Why? Just why would you ? Hmm

Elieza · 13/12/2020 16:22

Can’t cure stoopid.

Elieza · 13/12/2020 16:23

We all need to obey the law and act in a way that tries to keep ourselves and our families safe.

Roominmyhouse · 13/12/2020 16:29

No and I’m glad no one has invited me to one as I’d be really disappointed if my friends or family were having a party.

Exactly. Hardly a shock that London’s cases are rapidly rising is it
TooManyPlatesInMotion · 13/12/2020 17:02

No.

Am in tier 2 and had 3 friends round last night to sit outside round the fire pit. About as good as it gets right now! Was actually fun, wrapped up warm, mulled wine. Nicer than a massive rule breaking party probably!

Tink1990 · 13/12/2020 17:40

No way

Waxonwaxoff0 · 13/12/2020 17:43

No. Under normal circumstances I would love nothing better, but not in these times.

Fuckertyfuckmcfuck · 13/12/2020 17:55

no

ChristmasCookies · 13/12/2020 17:55

NO!!!!!!

ChristmasCookies · 13/12/2020 18:02

.......Just our bubble ( Me, my 2 sisters, our kids) and 2 friends.........

How is that a bubble? A bubble is 2 adults ?

ChristmasCookies · 13/12/2020 18:04

@ Pipandmum You do realise that you can get it twice???? 7 friends plus whoever lives at your house.

Your area won't be tier 1 for long

Twobrews · 13/12/2020 19:40

No.
We were invited to a joint 40th birthday party Friday night, an NHS worker and carer who've had the first vaccine shot and has declared that it's time to get back to normal.
By all accounts it was a huge house party mostly NHS staff and carers plus a load of their 17 and 18 year olds mates.

nosswith · 13/12/2020 19:47

No, and I hope OP you back up your concern with calls to 101, when they happen, assuming you have firm evidence.

lovelylittlepanda · 13/12/2020 20:11

You'll get nothing negative from me. Enjoy yourself, OP and have a glass for me too!

Sadly I feel I have to set a good example of "following the roolz" for the teens although I know how flipping stupid they are (the roolz, not the teens, though they have their moments too).

To the poster above, yes, the folks I know who are the least observant are NHS. I guess their big exposure is at work so anything else is pretty minor. Something about habituation to risk, it's all very interesting the psychology of it, including the slow-to-wake-up folks who've only just figured out that because they're not on the list to be getting a vaccine anytime soon it means govt isn't worried about them actually getting Covid ... just spreading it.

megletthesecond · 13/12/2020 20:14

No.
This whole thing of Xmas parties has passed me by my entire life. Pre dc's I'd go to the pub, never a fancy party.

Goonergirl14 · 13/12/2020 20:14

No I wouldn't but my ndn would, he has been having people over all during lockdown some people just don't care...

JassyRadlett · 13/12/2020 20:19

Fuck no.

It’s the selfish cunts doing this that’s going to mean I can’t even take my kids out for a hot chocolate and mince pie by the end of the week, and many people already in Tier 3 haven’t been able to for absolutely ages. And will probably mean those kid start the new year out of school again.

But yeah, parties, sheep, ‘normal’. What fucking twats.

Goonergirl14 · 13/12/2020 20:20

@VettiyaIruken

Nope. But to be honest Im not a fan of parties so wouldn't want to go anyway.

This year has been far less hard on us unsociable grumpy bastards.

I am with you! Part of me enjoys the lockdown!
