A bit of covid rule breaking going on round here over Christmas.
I'm avoiding any parties but I do miss them

No, but the answer would have been no pre covid as well.

BiscuitDrama · 12/12/2020 17:03

@scentedgeranium

No But I'm curious, what tier is this?
Somewhere in Scotland I am going to guess. Smile
BertieBob · 12/12/2020 17:06

No, my local hospital have just announced they're full and have no spare beds. People should be following the rules, otherwise things will only get worse.

katy1213 · 12/12/2020 17:11

No, if I wanted to stand in someone's kitchen clutching a glass of lukewarm mulled wine and discussing COVID (at least it won't be house prices!) then I can do it at home!

Brunt0n · 12/12/2020 17:12

No because i’m not a selfish arsehole

GintyMcGinty · 12/12/2020 17:13

Not a chance.

I want to see my family at Christmas and don't want to put them at risk catching COVID at a party

OhCormoranAllYeFaithful · 12/12/2020 17:13

No no no

peboh · 12/12/2020 17:16

Yes.

FraggleShingleBellRock · 12/12/2020 17:18

We are still having a Boxing Day party. We normally have a load of people and it's definitely going to be much quieter. Just our bubble ( Me, my 2 sisters, our kids) and 2 friends. I'm also having a few other friends around in the garden over Xmas as we are lucky enough to have a gazebo that is lit and has a log burner. So drinks, roasting marshmallows etc with lots of blankets.

Hardbackwriter · 12/12/2020 17:22

I absolutely wouldn't, but God I would want to

crankysaurus · 12/12/2020 17:22

No, I know too many people dead or with long covid and may lose another one soon so will wait till summer, however much I desperately miss company.

Airyfairymarybeary · 12/12/2020 17:24

No because I’m not a fucking selfish rule breaker.

lazylinguist · 12/12/2020 17:27

No. I'm not fussed about parties anyway tbh. I prefer to spend Christmas and New Year with extended family, but that's not happening either. We are having one family of neighbours round for Christmas Eve lunch and that's it.

Bringbackthestrips · 12/12/2020 17:29

No

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 12/12/2020 17:44

Yes. I’m fully prepared to be moaned at by the sheep

Why are people so rude about this

I dont give a shit what you do

But not going to a rule breaking party doesn’t make anyone a sheep, well no more than people GOING to the parties...cos their friends are. Which actually now i think about it seems a bit sheep like

Sirzy · 12/12/2020 17:46

No because I’m not selfish.

And because I realise that my choice to do something like that could have horrible consequences for anyone I have to come into contact with.

It’s one Christmas. It’s going to be different but we just have to make the most of it.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 12/12/2020 17:47

We aren't sheep, but neither are we selfish wolves

Oh dont say that...wolves are cool

We don’t want people thinking they a majestic wolves just cos sticking to a no parties rule is hard for them 😀

shinynewapple2020 · 12/12/2020 18:01

No - but I can't imagine anyone I know organising a party anyway .

shinynewapple2020 · 12/12/2020 18:07

But if a friend invited me round to a very small get together outside with some kind of heaters and/ or gazebo I would probably go.

Chasingsquirrels · 12/12/2020 18:09

I prefer not to normally, currently - not a chance.

RufustheSniggeringReindeer · 12/12/2020 18:16

No. We are so close to getting the vaccine rolled out across the country.

I don't agree with how the lockdowns/tiers have been implemented or the economic damage they have caused. However, what's done is done and recklessly engaging in illegal activities which could spread the virus further within vulnerable groups is just needless selfishness at this point.

IceCreamAndCandyfloss · 12/12/2020 19:18

No and I’d be rethinking friendships with anyone who was hosting I.e. accepted an invite to such an event.

RiaOverTheRainbow · 12/12/2020 19:26

There are close family members I haven't seen in fucking ages, and we've agreed it's not worth the risk to meet up for Christmas even though it's technically allowed. No way am I going to anyone else's house.

Ewentheawakesheep · 12/12/2020 19:27
