Do you wear thermals?

New house v old = draughty and on the cooler side etc. I have to sit a lot during day working at home and get rather chilly. Are thermals worth a shot? Any other late 30 something wearing these in the house at this time of year?

Yes. I wear the under my pyjamas on minus temperature nights as well as during the day. I think they came from Sports Direct or Decathalon. They are also in Lidl at the moment, on the central aisle of oddity. You don't need to pay a fortune.

Yes! I have thermals and wear them while WFH and in the office on the odd days I'm in as it's Baltic ❤️ stay cosy

78percentLindt · 11/12/2020 00:15

Yes, brought some when working somewhere cold, and now a convert, got mine in M&S but hear good things about Uniqlo. I have bought some thermal tights as well and think I prefer them to the thermal leggings. (But I'm waaay over 30 though)

Pumpkinstace · 11/12/2020 00:17

I'm 37 and wear thermals all the time.

I have day ones and night ones.

Pumpkinstace · 11/12/2020 00:18

By all the time I mean, night and day, every day.

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 11/12/2020 00:33

Yes I wear them from October onwards!

The Uniqlo ones are the best

NowWhatUsernameShallIHave · 11/12/2020 00:35

Uniqlo have 3 grades although I wish they did different necklines in the 2 higher one like they do in the lower one

quickkimchi · 11/12/2020 01:23

Silk thermals for me, day and night. I have merino ones for when it gets properly cold out but I get more wear out of silk. Great under wafty clothes (skirts, culottes). I get mine from Patra.

FestiveChristmasLights · 11/12/2020 01:32

Yes, wear them all the time.

grassisjeweled · 11/12/2020 01:35

I wear them but not in the house. I have a little heater for my office if I'm cold

Nomnomarrgh · 11/12/2020 02:50

Yes, thermals mean that if I’m standing waiting for a bus in the winter I don’t freeze to death. I think Asda and M&S do them too.

Got thermals for dd in the new freezing classroom era we live in.

Hawkins001 · 11/12/2020 02:59

Yes been wearing them for a few months now, top and bottoms, but recommend good quality ones

Elderflower14 · 11/12/2020 03:44

I have to go into into a - 17 freezer for one of my jobs and a school playground for the other so yes I do!!!! ❄ ❄

Camomila · 11/12/2020 07:22

I wear thermal vest tops from uniqlo under my normal clothes - they are non itchy unlike wooly ones.

I also own thermal tights but they are too hot for me indoors in England.

motorcyclenumptiness · 11/12/2020 07:29

I bought some from Primark when I was working in a freezing library - toasty heaven!

Fluffycloudland77 · 11/12/2020 08:19

Been wearing them since I was early 30’s. I love them.

BertieBotts · 11/12/2020 08:26

Discovered them a couple of years ago and I wouldn't be without them!

The only thing I dislike is getting undressed for a shower, feels like it takes ages and makes me cold.

TreacleHart · 11/12/2020 08:28

Love my thermals !

HaHaVeryBunny · 11/12/2020 08:52

Yep, recently started walking more during lockdown for exercise.
They are a fantastic when its 1 degree out and simple work up wear isn't gonna help.

SomethingToldTheWildGeese · 11/12/2020 08:52

Thermals + hot water bottle + blanket over knees + indoor shoes with thick soles; = a warm worker.

Also - if you do get cold even with all that, then I suggest stripping down to a tee shirt, and running like a madman around the block/garden a couple of times - your house will feel remarkabley warmer after that!

Remmy123 · 11/12/2020 08:56

I just got some from Lidl as I am always cold!!! Not work it yet

CoraPirbright · 11/12/2020 09:25

Absolutely! Cold, damp, draughty house. They are absolutely essential. I like the warmer M&S ones - long sleeved and fluffy on the inside.

PoppyOppy · 11/12/2020 09:41

I do! Older than my 30s though Grin wouldn't be without my thermals. Much better to be warm.

BogRollBOGOF · 11/12/2020 10:26

I love long johns Grin

BogRollBOGOF · 11/12/2020 10:57

Yey, I've found my beloved Mongolian long johns now Grin
