I poo daily but sometimes it's less soft than I would like (sorry if tmi).

What things do you do that you notice make a difference? I know the obvious fruit and vegetables, drink water etc but I'd like to hear what really makes the difference for you. Thanks!

Movement, not loads but actually walking round the block after sitting at my desk all day.

losenotloose · 09/12/2020 17:31

I already have a fairly active job but maybe more exercise would help.

Homemade apple sauce

Giving up all veg. Carnivore diet fixed my IBS. Veg used to kill me.

Thelnebriati · 09/12/2020 17:37

Every day, core exercises and 2 slices of wholemeal bread with celery and chicken soup.
That sounds really wholesome, hopefully you have a mental image of me as some superfit gym bunny. Grin

Buscopan!

Twinkie01 · 09/12/2020 17:48

Bimuno sachets in my nightly hot drink. They're prebiotics not probiotics so the heat doesn't kill them, basically just food to keep the gut bacteria healthy rather than just keeping shoving more bacteria in (as people do when they keep taking probiotics).

I had to have an op a short while ago and the consultant said I had a remarkably clean colon for a woman as we tend to not have the big clear outs men do 🤢

CheeseAndOnionIcecream · 09/12/2020 19:03

Baked beans!

mbosnz · 09/12/2020 19:06

Coffee and a sausage roll.

Maybe your digestion has slowed?

Everyone is different so find what works for you. Consider the order in which you eat your meals (in terms of how long it takes for food to break down)

So ideally fruit first then veg then grains and meat. Try a handful of nuts and a bit of fruit in the morning a soup or salad at lunch and whatever other complex stuff like rice or pasta last this way the simpler stuff is in first therefore breaks down and comes out first.

Also, before anything else in the morning a full glass of warmish water

May not work for you but try for a week and see.

AriesTheRam · 09/12/2020 19:12

Coffee,2 in the morning usually does it.

Moltenpink · 09/12/2020 19:13

Fatty foods & loads of water.

Avondklok · 09/12/2020 19:14

Italian breakfast of an espresso and a Marlboro light does the trick.

Ridingthegravytrain · 09/12/2020 19:14

Digestive enzymes, probiotics, linseed soaked in yoghurt and magnesium supplement

Lots of salad

minipie · 09/12/2020 19:22

Coffee and a 15 minute walk.

LucyLocketsBlackCat · 09/12/2020 19:26

Prune juice

mbosnz · 09/12/2020 19:41

Oh, if you're really desperate, apparently cooked lettuce laid waste to the truckies that had the misfortune of being fed by one particular chef at our pub, lol.

PiggyPlumPie · 09/12/2020 19:43

Ulcerative colitis - now go every morning without fail.

But I guess that's an extreme cure!

What do you eat?

Mine is 2l of water, OP. I also drink tea during the day.

RedRosie · 09/12/2020 19:50

If you already eat well, try and walk a bit more. Brisk walking helps me (since the menopause!).

You don't have to do miles/take hours. 10 mins brisk walking two or three times a day.

(Ignore if you are already a super-fit person)

HardCandyChristmas · 09/12/2020 19:53

Apple or pear puree.
If I don't have time to make, I buy the baby food pots!

Dogsaresomucheasier · 09/12/2020 20:01
